I just looked up Matthews rookie season and he got 40 goals but only 29 assists for a total of 69 points in 82 games.
I'm going to guess Bedard is around 70 points - 35g/35a.

So NHL Network airing replay of game in condensed airing, from 4:30 to 6 AM EST. Wings/Capitals is the evening game from 7 to 10 PM EST interesting... the NHL website says the 'hawks game is the game on this evening... Possible good news, the Wings/Caps game not on. And at bottom of screen showing Hawks/B"lose (for some reason NHL Network says Blues, they've gotta do spell check lol) |

I love how he didn't wanna celebrate on his empty net goal and when a teammate was going to celebrate he shook his head and said no. Partly because it's an empty netter but it's also the preseason, I'm sure if it's in the playoffs in a meaningful game it'd be a different story.
But great to see how composed he is.
Sure he's making some mistakes but he's figuring things out and almost scored some highlight reel goals, a couple off nice takeaways.
Bedard will be ready to lead this team when he faces Sid, this team feels special and having Bedard and Luke leading them I think they might surprise a lot of people.

On one hand I like the personal accountability of expecting the best of themselves. It sure beats the floater Karpo/Nylander Jr mentality. On the other hand I do agree with you: a fine line separates frustration from a temper tantrum. Smashing your stick once every few weeks because you fail to live up to your own expectations I get. Every shift? Nah. |

I was driving during the first period,so I did hear John and Troy call it and then got to hear the best 'Chicago broadcaster' ........Edzo,the rest of the way. First time in a while I listened to John and Troy,what joy it is.......good thing they're kept on the radio in favor of 'Ken and Barbie'. It also seemed like Edzo had genuine excitement in his voice for a few of the Hawks' kids last night,not just Bedard. The guy was a true 'homer' and the loyalist of soldiers when here and woulda been a good partner for young Vosters IMO,but he had to go too. All I could think of while watcing last night was.....WHY? |
