i like kenny albert but you gotta' have a chicago broadcaster call CB's first goal for posterity. hopefully someone smarter than me (not hard to find) will sync up wideman's call with the video. I was driving during the first period,so I did hear John and Troy call it and then got to hear the best 'Chicago broadcaster' ........Edzo,the rest of the way. First time in a while I listened to John and Troy,what joy it is.......good thing they're kept on the radio in favor of 'Ken and Barbie'. It also seemed like Edzo had genuine excitement in his voice for a few of the Hawks' kids last night,not just Bedard. The guy was a true 'homer' and the loyalist of soldiers when here and woulda been a good partner for young Vosters IMO,but he had to go too. All I could think of while watcing last night was.....WHY? Ditto--not shitting you! I had to run out so I put on the radio feed so I could listen while driving (the eunuchs who run the NHL app switched the Bruins and 'hawk radio feed...thankfully I was able to switch as a red light), and I caught Weiderman/Murray's call of his 1st goal. Wished I could have seen it by I agree: Was awesome to hear them call it. |

Jones wants to be a captain, he can learn from Bedard and maybe be a captain on his next team.
Bedard keeps impressing me, the way he's handling himself in high pressure situations like these home openers, tonight in Montreal in his first Hockey Night in Canada he seems calm and taking it in.
Loved when Dickinson rocked a Hab right in front on him when he was on the bench, and he had a little smile and tapped his stick twice on the boards.

I learned something a couple days ago that, if true, I find disturbing. I learned that Bedard is being pulled out of the locker room between periods for media access. That's ridiculous and should be stopped. He needs to be in there with his teammates discussing between period adjustments and feeling like he's a member of the team - not a media attraction. Obviously he's a special player so he has to pay a special price - but his job and his desire is to be a hockey player and pulling him away from the team in the middle of a game is crossing the line. Hopefully this level of crazy calms down in the near future.

The kid's the biggest thing to happen to the league in a LONG time,did anyone expect anything different his first time through? He's gonna be the face of the team immediately and the entire league at some point......if he's not already. He's been the star attraction everywhere he's played since was eight or so,there might be an adjustment period but is there any doubt he'll handle it?

The first time trough the league's gonna be a BIG F'n deal for hockey and the kid seems ready for it IMO. |
