With a goal against Florida, Bedard became the youngest Blackhawk to score in 3 straight games, beating Roenick, who did it as a 19yr old.

Have not seen any reporting on this, Bedard played in his 10th game yesterday and Davidson and the Hawks have now burned the first year of his rookie deal. Very surprised not to see any discussion if it was the right move.

Speaking of Bedard his cousin Gavin Mckenna is on track to be the 1st overall pick in the 2026 NHL draft.

Very surprised not to see any discussion if it was the right move. Probably because it was expected that he's not playing in juniors again. Same with Korchinski, maybe the World Juniors, but that's it. They're Blackhawks.

I also think Korchniski has earned to be here.

I have an old buddy who has Devils season tickets. Here were his comments for what they’re worth on Bedard comparing to Hughes:
Hughes showed some flashes of brilliance first year but only had 21 points in 61 games before season stopped.
He got pushed around a lot
was on a lousy team but so is Bedard. Bedard has looked a little better than Jack did in his first year

I believe the article as you stated is interesting and thanks for sharing, but to me it is just one piece in evaluating players or possibly projecting potential future output. What does this say anyway? That Kane (future 1st ballot hall of famer) was better statistically than Bedard after 10 games? To me this is really does not tell me anything of the player (Bedard) is now and going forward, but I get it, media, pundits and fans easily gravitate to this type of information. I personally do not believe it fair to either player (Bedard or Kane). Maybe Kane had better finishers than Bedard the reason for more assists, better D and goaltending reason for better +/- stat. This is still a TEAM game, and we all know the team that Bedard is playing on now will look dramatically different in years 2, 3, 4 and so on. We all are hoping it will be way much better and there are signs (prospect pipeline, cap space, draft assets, game experience, etc.) it will.

For me, it was just a little tidbit of info that inspired me to look up the first year stats of K,R and S and see what B will have to do to match them. There is no doubt that B is playing on a team that is providing him with far fewer opportunities to rack up points than the other 3 guys had. So, if B even comes close the numbers for K,R and S (which were pretty similar) he will be doing great.

If there was even the slightest shadow of a doubt about Bedard, he showed in Tampa that he is already at 18 as dangerous around the goal and really in the o-zone as anyone in the league. He moves so quickly with his stick handling. I mean even very his first goal - the wrap around - showed that. Like was said on the other thread- “pinch me”.

Nice assist on his own goal here. Also nice it was kucherov's pocket he picked.

Nice assist on his own goal here. Also nice it was kucherov's pocket he picked. When I went through the pages I noticed no one picked up on that and mentioned how he chipped it back to set up the give n go. Kinda like his first goal, he rushed Hedman and chipped the puck over to Kurashev then went to the net.

Would've took me quite a while before i guessed vorobiev. Vorobiev was in Calder contention with Crosby the first quarter of the season, then the wheels fell off.

What Bedard is doing is impressive. Both Florida teams are good. Very good. And to get 6 points against them combined is awesome. Especially at 18. Look at Lafreniere. He’s finally starting to figure things out. And he was very physically mature at 18. But some guys take longer. And I feel Bedard will be one in a million. Gonna be a lot of fun to watch him get better and better!!!

I am curious to see how Tampa handles Bedard on Thursday. Some of the Bolts brushed off losing saying their effort wasn’t there etc. But Bedard lit them up so curious if Cooper tries to shadow him or try to keep laying hits on him. I don’t think he’s had tons of room to operate in and he shows he can still do a lot of damage. If they aren’t careful with hitting him it raises the chance of a penalty - but maybe that’s a risk worth taking since Hawks PP is not very good.
