not everybody does. and of course kyle beach is "trending" on twitter. What a bunch of clueless morons, they won 3 Cups with Kane, wtf does that have to do with the lotto? Pitts won 2 Cups with Mario and they got Crosby and Fluery, Edmonton won 5 Cups and they got FOUR first overall picks in 6yrs, they had to make a rule after that. When the Oilers got their 4th first they had the same odds as Chicago this year. And Beach, I guess they don't know the full story of that mentally unstable kid who loved to party and had 3ways with the video coach and a hooker...more than once. This is only the second time in Chicago's history that they got the #1 pick, these clowns make it sound like they've had it numerous times.

Yeah, it would seem to be a mutually beneficial signing as he stated he liked Chicago and like you say, he flourished under Richardson. Thank you. My knowledge of hockey is very basic, I really like the game but only started following through COVID - in the UK there is nil coverage of the NHL on any media platform. Its great for me to learn from you guys and get knowledge from the differing opinions. right on. if you haven't seen it yet, if you go to the "game day" section of these boards and click on "2022/23 Season", then click on "Streaming Site Options" there are a few good streaming sites there that i believe will work anywhere in the world. if any probs with it, drop a post there or send me a message. cheers. Thank you, I will have a look at the options

Now the Hawks need to keep CB away from the development coaches. The interview with Bedard during the lottery yesterday was telling of what type of person/player we are going to see, he talked about getting better, how competitive he is, looking to improve his game and loves to practice. This kid just loves to play the game.

I agree with your description of the 'full story' yet it still ended the careers of the GM and the HC who only followed the owner's hand-picked CEO's directions. Neither man had the millions it took to buy everyone off.....(I mean settle with Beach and 'John Doe')and pay for their own investigation completely absolving 'The Family'. Lyin' Rocky was very much a 'hands-on' owner back in '10',attending almost every home game, the CEO and HR director of his small/family owned business were apprised of the serious allegations and some ex players claimed everyone knew......everyone but Lyin' Rocky apparently. The 'bought and paid for' report laid the blame squarely at the feet of McD and Q,demolishing the career of the BEST HC of his era along the way while the Billionaire and his unqualified son go on to even more great fortune. Life's like a big 'shit sandwich'..........the more bread ya got.......the less shit ya gotta eat! If McD(deservedly so IMO)and both SB and Q are permanently banished from the game, then the 'Worst' family should have been forced to sell the team BUT.......see above.

Here are some reasons why Chicago makes the most sense for the NHL from USA Today:
He lands with an Original Six team and in a big city. The endorsement opportunities will be immense. He gets a solid coach in Luke Richardson. Plus, he's in the Western Conference and the Vancouver-area native will get more games on the West Coast than he would have if an Eastern Conference team had won the lottery, though not as much as if Anaheim, San Jose or Vancouver had won.
It's better for the league, ESPN and TNT to have a player like Bedard in a major TV market like Chicago. Being in the Central time zone means Bedard likely will spend a lot of time on national television. The Blackhawks haven't been in a Winter Classic since 2019 because of the team's recent struggles. Perhaps, they'll get back in the mix now.

The awful record is no reflection on him IMO,the roster was blatantly gutted! He's a no-nonsense HC who asks a lot from his players and his hockey knowledge and experience is complete.......unlike his superiors. He showed a penchant for veteran players while many 20 year olds languished in Rockford but they were the last guy's picks and we are 'clearing the decks'. LR might indeed be a good teacher and developer of a team full of kids but his attempt at it will be his first as a HC and when do we see it.....after another tank or two? Will he be the rare HC who gets to finish a rebuild? Dallas Eakins wants to know!LOL!!!

Now the Hawks need to keep CB away from the development coaches. It will sure be interesting to see how they move him through their system. A year at Rockford? I wouldn't think the would give him another year in juniors. I'll be watching closely. I just hope that there is some development with the team through the course of his rookie contract, so they don't lose him when it is over because there has not been enough development with the parent club to keep him interested and signing another contract after that.

I don't think he needs much work on his game. Maybe some tweaking of his pro game. I think they may need to let King go and get a better offensive coach that can work with the talent.

Right after Hawks draft him he will sign a 3 year ELC and I would be absolutely shocked he is not on 2023-2024 opening roster. Back to juniors no way what else does he have to prove that he can score 100 goals in a season. Hard to see this type of player with his hockey IQ, speed and shiftiness along with an already elite shot/release and willingness to get better, a hockey gym rat even sees the Harris BMO center in Rockford, no way.

I still do not mind like being his coach to start off though.

So I've seen video of ChiConnor wearing #16, 17, and 98. The NHL, in a stroke of marketing genius, should allow Bedard to wear all 3.....home games 16, road games 17, and alternates 98. You know there are those who would invest in all 3!

This is from Bedard's scouting report in Last Word on Sports, in the "Projection and Comparison" section:
Bedard’s game is more reminiscent of Crosby than McDavid, but there are also elements of Auston Matthews in there as well. This is a stylistic comparison, though it is tough given his unique set of skills and ability.

Another plus with landing Bedard is now it does not rush or put pressure on Nazar to be the #1 or #2 center of the future. He can now be slotted even as a #3 if we can get that bigger center. Boy, how quickly can one player make you team so much better depth wise and overall balance in the lineup. I know KD said he is only one piece, but man he is a big one piece.

I still have to remind myself that this is actually happening. I have total faith that he’ll pick Bedard. I would actually question if the last guy would do it. He may very well of pulled an MVR and traded back. No draft is that gawd dam deep to give up a Connor Fuckin Bedard!!!

I wonder if Nascar will be moved to the wing at some point? While Bedard is what every team wants and needs. You’ll still need size up the middle. If your top two centers don’t cross the 6 foot line. Gotta look at other options. I’m confident that Luke will do the right things!!!

C.Dach could be that big center, he was just over 50% at faceoffs this season and plays a smart 2way game, and he has good hands. Canada trusted him in a shutdown role and he had a two points in 4gms. Maybe move Nazar and Bedard to the wing, Bedard played the wing for Canada and did ok lol Bring back AA as the 2C, that'll be 6'4" and 6'2" centers for the top6. Or maybe Bedard thrives at C, we'll see in training camp.

Awhile back, there was all this talk in this forum about not rushing the young guys past the development stage. So, is Bedard that good that he needs no development and will simply play in the NHL from day one? McDavid played for the Oilers from day one after he recovered from his fractured clavicle and played 45 games that year with 48 points.
