I’ve got a bunch of pissed off leaves fans messaging me about Bedard pulling a Lindros. But every article they send says the opposite. There has been no inclination of anything of the sort. I think there’s a lot of sore anus’s out there because the Hawks got it!!! I'm hearing the same stuff here in Edmonton, even on the radio stations. Saying he'll pull a Lindros because of the sex scandal. Plus they're saying the lotto is rigged, but they weren't saying that when they got McDavid, their 4th #1 in 6yrs. Edit* page 4

on zawaski's podcast, they had the regina pats play by play guy on their show and were asking him all about connor bedard. i was really...i mean really happy to hear this guy go on and on (and on) what a humble, sincere and overall nice and good person connor bedard was. nothing but good things said. it starts at 35:30 in and ends about 54 minutes, although you don't need to hear it all to get the gist of it. Hawks should hire that announcer and fire colby.

Good grief , listen to this kid watch how he talks and acts he is a hockey purist. He knew this is his last year in juniors but didnt make a peep about wanting a trade. I get the anger but as you pointed out of all places Edmonton come on.

The way he carries himself, treats and cares about others and the desire to be the best is just outstanding. The work ethic, competitiveness, how he thinks the game 2 plays ahead already and the skill sets he possess, we are in for a treat folks.

He was brought up the right way, honest, hardworking, grounded kid. I read somewhere else that all he cares is getting better, winning and loves and respects the game. Very humble too, did not want to be compared to Crosby and some others, he feels he has not done anything to be mentioned with those players. Looking forward to him raising the cup down the road, hopefully not that far off. Let's face in a few years that will be the expectation. Gretzky, Crosby, Ovi, McDavid all had the pressure put on themselves to hoist the cup, only McDavid is still looking for his first one.

Hard not to like the kid. I don't wanna see McDavid lift the Cup in Edmonton but hopefully Bedard can do it in Chicago.

I finally watched it, makes me like Bedard even more. He went out of his way to see how Dach was doing after he injured his shoulder, plus he's nice to everyone at the rink, including the janitor, sounds like future captain material. And hearing him say that he's built like an ox and he has huge legs and the veins in his arms are popping and he's not even flexing is great to hear because he'll need it next season. Plus he said he's 5'10" 190lbs, he was listed at 185lbs when he was 16, considering how hard he works out he should be in the mid 190s after the summer. With his low center of gravity, strength, and wanting to be a 200' player, he should play center in the NHL.

we better not screw around too long, or in 3 years he might say the hell with it, and move on, I still think we should build from the draft, or pick up a few prospects for taking on salary, But I hope management has dropped the tank mode, and honestly tries to make this team better he won't be able to, he'll be a rfa then... well that's good to hear, at least the restricted part ,

Just read this ridiculous article coming from Boston, suggesting trading Pasternak and Ullmark to the Haeks for the #1 pick.
Can't wait to see all the trade rumors going into the draft

Just read this ridiculous article coming from Boston, suggesting trading Pasternak and Ullmark to the Haeks for the #1 pick. Can't wait to see all the trade rumors going into the draft Most fans don’t care to understand other teams plans. A rebuilding team is not taking on Pastrnaks deal. A rebuilding team will not trade their high draft picks. It’s like most play NHL 23 and make fantasy trades. I know a few posters that would trade the pick. I had a buddy ask me this hypothetical, would you trade the #1 to Anaheim for the #2 pick and Mason McTavish? I’d have to think about that one. You’re getting the #1 and 2 centers you need. But for marketing purposes, I don’t think you can!!!

Phill I thought you said you had a signed jersey? Hahaha!!! Didn't see him play much since the Hawks didn't show home games, but he did mention he had a great great nephew who would be born a few decades later that was going to be the talk of the 2023 draft. So he knew Connor was going to be a star long before he was born

Yeah, if I just bought season tickets immediately after the Hawks won the lottery, I did so because I wanted to see Bedard. I'd be pissed off if they then proceeded to trade the pick

This is just another example of what a player with the skills of Bedard brings to a team. When your best player is also the hardest worker off the ice, it rubs off on the rest of the team, which in turn makes the team that much better.

He is not trading the pick. All of the jumping up and down, high fiving we saw at the Hawks draft party tells you exactly what this lottery win means for this franchise, city and fans. I suppose it is fun to think of various trade offers, but let's be realistic, I know the draft is in late June, but the Hawks will be making the first pick. I do not trade the pick straight up for the other Connor, who even with all his greatness and having a side kick in Draisaitl still have not been in a cup final. To be fair it could change this year. But say McDavid does come here and now what. You would have to buy free agents, which is weak class this year. We all know that spending money does not generally equal success. The future D is not ready, do we have an NHL goalie yet? This is not the formula to build a team. KD is doing this the right way, sure he got a monumental gift with landing the #1 overall pick and all the draft assets over the next few years he has a ton of leverage and options.

This maybe his best attribute and for all his skill sets and love for the game a fair question does your best player make the team around him better. One way to your point Phil is being the hardest worker and making everyone accountable. This is what they refer to is pulling the team with you. Our captain Toews did this and now we will have a kid that will be the hardest worker, but also potentially in a few years the best and most talented player in the game. To be fair as great a player as Towes was, not nearly the same skill sets of Bedard at the same age.

Let's look back at the previous group. Your locker room leaders were basically Toews, Seabs and Keith. Vocally speaking.
On ice, the same trio lead the way but throw in a presence like HOSSA to show everyone what a man is brought this team to the top.
Those guys sure made Q's job a lot easier to guide the younguns.

Hossa was the perfect role model for this team in addition to his obvious talent and skills. The way he prepared, played the game and quiet leader. When the young Hawks players saw how he approached the game for a man that had been in the league that long it was contagious.

I heard about him breaking his wrist and he learned to shoot with one hand but I didn't know how serious it was because if it didn't heal properly he'd lose a lot of mobility in his wrist. He was in a cast for 12 weeks, immobilized his hand and elbow. Normal breaks take 6 weeks.
So with only his top hand he learned how to shoot and not long after he was raising the puck. That's not easy to do if you don't use your leg as leverage. And as we know it healed fine and his shot greatly improved afterwards.
When Debrincat was interviewed right after he was drafted I made a comment about the size of his hands compared to himself, said he had big fat sniper hands, I noticed Connor is the same, but Bedard is a few inches taller and most likely in the 190s. Bonus his primary position is center.
Gonna be fun watching him grow in Chicago, still feels unreal.

Just looking at some his goals the puck is past the goalie in a blink of an eye. Agree it is going to be a treat to watch him play for our Hawks.
