Up 2-1 going to second G Del Mastro, Hardman A Reichel, Pitlick and Kaiser They gave Hardman the goal - I thought Pitlick one-timed it in. Either way - up 2-1/ I'm bummed Guttman isn't back from injury after the last month he had where he was clearly their best player getting something like 11 goals and 23 points in 13 games. He is a very big loss for the Hogs. Also Allan being out is huge - top-4 defensively sound d-man.

5-1 final.
Commesso stopped 27 of 28. Congrats on his first playoff game and win as a pro.
Hardman with 2g-1a.
And congrats to Del Mastro on his first playoff goal as a pro.

Good win. I like seeing Kaiser on the PP. Now do they ride the hot hand or go back to Stauber.

Going back to the regular season, Teply has 5 goals in his last 4gms. Great time for a heater.
And with Commesso stopping 27 of 28 and being the 2nd star, it's his net to lose.

Teply is a very interesting decision this offseason He is, he'll be 23 going into next season, he has the tools to be a top9 forward. 6'3" righty on the LW who's a good skater with a heavy shot, but he's been inconsistent during his 3yrs in Rockford. Maybe he'll sign a 1yr 2way contract and earn some ice time in Chicago next season.

Teply is a good skater and strong on his feet, similar to Hayes and Dickinson, you need guys like that to play with smaller speedsters. He hasn't done anything to warrant a multi year deal so he'd be smart to sign a 1yr deal. Hardman is another guy KD should sign, he looks ready for a bottom 6 role.

not the greatest team record to own but he did stop them all.
seems like the hogs settled things down in the 2nd but trail 0-1 late stages of the period.
edit: tie tie....pitlick knots it up late in the 2nd.

Commesso already has more saves this game after 2 periods than all of last game, stopped 28 of 29 so far.

G.R. did something similar in game 1, let’s hope Rockford reciprocates.

Getting Sanford and Pitlick didn’t do much for the big club but it’s sure paying dividends for the Hogs. I’m picking Teply with the winner.

I’m picking Teply with the winner. obviously success in one league doesn't guarantee success in the other. case in point...former hawks' sniper adam gaudette led the A in goals this year with 44, while scoring just 27 career goals in the NHL in 220 games. rocco grimaldi was 3rd in the A with 36 while scoring 30 goals in the NHL in 203 games.

Bigger kids traditionally take longer on the development scale. So I’m a bit perplexed as to why they’re not taking much bigger kids in the top 2 rounds? Even Kantserov is only 5’9”. Like, a couple of them can make a team, but shouldn’t have a team full of them. I’m really hoping they aim for Size with the other 3-4 picks they have in the top 50. I get that you don’t need size in every draft at every pick. I get it. But gotta get some top end talent that can play with their size!!! Of the six forwards KD drafted in the first two rounds since 2022, only two are above 6', Greene and Misiak. So yeah they need to target bigger forwards in the first 2 rounds this year. Demidov has elite skills but it'd be understandable if KD passed on a Russian player that's below average in height and weight. This is going to be an interesting off season, starting with the lotto on the 7th. Misiak and Pharand have been released from their PTO with Rockford.

Misiak is going back to juniors and he's Hawks property, so being released doesn't mean anything. I'm sure Pharand is going back to juniors as well, buts he's a 4th round pick, we were talking about forwards drafted in the first two rounds.
