If one follows Roumeliotis on X and scrolls the responses to his “tweet,” and assuming there is no truth to this thing, seems that CP’s agent, and CP himself, need to step in to end this. Man up. If there is truth, I really hope that CB has some thick skin to weather all the scumbag bile that’s going to be coming his way especially when the team is on the road. My STL Blows pal has been messaging me up on this since 10p last night. Foligno’s and the organization’s jobs will have just gotten so much more challenging. So instead of saying nothing Charlie makes a statement that's 100% a lie. I never liked the guy and now I don't believe anything he says. And now that it's true, I hate Perry again. I hope it's not true it was with Bedard's mom. |

It more than likely was in Tampa. But we don’t know yet. So Charlie may be right. We’ll have to wait and see. If Perry’s wife files for divorce. Than it’s all 100% true. Or any mom on the team!!! |

Also - now that more has come out, Hawks mgmt did do the right thing and it was their decision to suspend him and they took the time to make sure they didn’t fire off something before they were damn sure of the facts.

I guess it is just me, but I really don't understand folks getting worked up about a washed up has been that probably didn't need to be signed in the first place.
fuck Corey Perry. my ONLY concern with this situation is it souring young Master Bedard on staying in Chicago for the duration of his career.
for those dragging Charlie, while I share your dislike of him in general, he has been the mouthpiece for the brass for a minute now, so if you really needed the team to come out and deny the dumbass rumors going around, that is about as close to it as you are going to get.

as far as what he may have done, there are soooo many other possibilities that would make more sense than him having a consensual relationship with someone. I'm not even sure that banging a teammates mom would be something they could immediately terminate his contract for, tbh. I kinda lean toward probably he would win a fight like that if he took the team to court...
this is as dumb as the whole "Sharp was fucking Keith's wife" rumor from 2015...

I am sure that there is a moral turpitude clause in his contract, which is a catch all provision. I would certainly think that infidelity -- and I am not really a prude myself -- would qualify. I would say that taking someone to a strip club or buying them a beer would be a lesser transgression. Having said that, I doubt that it's anything particularly salacious, such as having an affair. How would that have even been discovered or come to light so quickly? In any case, it's too bad. I also don't think that the organization have handled very poorly. There's just no good way or a template to approach things like that. |

I hope the offence justifies the punishment. We will see in coming days if the player's union gets involved.
If Big T's source is right, Perry made a big mistake given the current climate. Still, let's keep things in perspective: this kind of "offence" would not have even registered 20 years ago when Perry joined the league. The world certainly has changed.

The clauses of the contract would be fairly tightly worded. Davidson can't just get rid of a player without proving that he breached a serious condition which would impact the club in some way. Otherwise teams would be finding ways to terminate overpaid players every year.
Sexual harassment, gambling, plying underaged kids with alcohol all would likely qualify. Sleeping around would not.
There have not been many high profile players whose contracts were terminated in this way. The Kings managed to terminate the Russian defenceman Voynov's contract after allegations of marital abuse, They also terminated Mike Richards after a drug border incident (although Richard filed a grievance and the two sides settled).
