With Martinez signed, I hope they don't sign TJ. yeah don’t see the fit personally unless they rotate Martinez and Brodie on the last pair and 7th d As 6-7 guys I'd be OK with that, as long as neither guy is on the top4 with Korchinski. You don't want a young dman rotating as the #7.

It’s a lot of turnover but it appears to have improved the team and I think there’s still room for young guys to make the team as they mature and can push the veterans out. I hope the contracts have been kept fairly short so they don’t get stuck with expensive players who can’t really maintain a decent level of play.

Is this now a playoff team?
Likely not. But at least the team will be competitive most nights. They will be watchable. Most positions are now filled (finally) with NHL players as opposed to minor leaguers. The prospects now will be developing where they should be.
Davidson has done a great job today. Most of the players brought in vastly improve those they replaced (Teravainen vs T. Johnson; Bertuzzi vs Raddysh; Martinez vs. Tinordi; Maroon vs. Reese Johnson; Smith vs Entwistle; Broissoit vs Soderblum).
None are signed to long-term anchor contracts (ie Dale Tallon --- Khabibulin for $6.75 M; Brian Campbell for $7.1 M). The contracts are staggered. When a prospect matures and demonstrates he is ready, there will be a spot for him.

Dont need anymore D. Still need that 2C, is there even anyone left? AA is listed as a center. Then there's Reichel, if they want to take a chance on him again and Teuvo was drafted as a center. Kurashev is also a center, but he has good chemistry with Bedard.

You don't want a young dman rotating as the #7. I think it’s clear as day that they don’t want to rush any prospect. And they’re obviously not. I do not know where anyone will play. “He” told me he got an offer. And wasn’t really expecting it. I guess they’re negotiating term. That’s all I know. He won’t say anything more. On a side note. My son stayed over there the other night. He’s a really really good guy. Hangs out with the kids. And always has time for people. He’d be a solid Hawk!!!

I’ll do Reichel, Toronto first and Kaiser Too much, but we should have enough without trading Toronto 1st to get him. It'll take a 1st plus no matter who lands Pinto or how. Toronto's 1st will more than likely be in the 20's somewhere and finding a better player than Pinto late in the 1st round is a real stretch IMO.

ok, maybe not awful, but, 2 years and almost 4 million?

Does someone have the term and AAV for these guys. TJ Brodie 2 years, 3.75 million. edit: assuming Frankie, Soda, and Slags end up in the Rock, we still have about 7.5 million left in cap space with 13f/6d/2g on the roster.

Bob, the Hawks 1st is a stretch to be as good as Pinto. I think Hawks pick outside of the top 10. Especially if they have Pinto. I don’t see it happening. But if it did, I’d be first to say that was a massively great pick up!!!

That’s the word I’m getting. But what took so long was the negotiation of year two. Good signing. Hawks will be better with him. He had a down year last year, no doubt. But a couple things happened. He lost his father right before the season started. That’s pretty rough at 32. Then Treliving got hired who he did not get along with. So he’ll be very good!!!

TJ Brodie 2 years, 3.75 million. The good news today is Hawks lineup will have NHL players in 24-25 season. You know Muphy will get hurt or injured so the extra veteran D signed today is a good move and also signals another year in Rockford for EDM, which is not the end of the world. How many years did Keith spend in the minors.

They do have a great prospect pool but they aren't far away. It's only been 2yrs since KD started replenishing the forward prospect pool, he let them develop in the CHL and college and now Nazar, Hayes, Savoie, and Ludwinski will be playing their first year as pros, Marcel² played his first year pro last season and Misiak from last season will be in Rockford. After next season Moore and other forwards will be added. It's a process. Yes it is a process. Understood. I just thought there might be more in Rockford ready to jump to Chi next season Nope but there will be a good amount starting to play in Rockford if those games interest you.

well... that was an unexpected spending spree! I didn't think they would drop that much money today. I like that only a couple deals are beyond 2 years and those two should still be decent players by the end of their deals (Turbo and Bert).
a couple short term d men wasn't unexpected, and there will still be room for 1-2 of the young guys to come up and see time while the rest hopefully all mesh in Rockford. the next few years are gonna be fun to watch up north in the Rock. clearly KfC and Co have bought into the Yzerman Over-Seasoning plan.

Shane Pinto on the other hand is an entirely different animal,so to speak. He's a talented center with size and toughness BUT he's age appropriate and could be wrapped-up long term for those reasons. He could be a stabilizing presence for kids joining the team once those stop-gaps expire.

I thought he was a little older for some reason. tell him we can't fackin wait to see him and the rest at the UC!

I am 100% down with giving these kids LOTS of time to be ready, no more rushing players and ruining them! this should mean Dewey should have lots of playing time with guys he could be teammates with in Chicago down the road next year in Rockford.
