The Hawks put Phillips on waivers. there's a half dozen or so posts about it in the "training camp" thread although they likely shoulda' been posted here.

I've made my fair share of posts that likely belonged in other threads like anybody. It's when it reaches 3/4 of a page or more when my OCD kicks in. : )

Here's how it's going to begin...

I'm not surprised about the scratches but the Bertuzzi experiment didn't last long. I wonder why they are so loathe to put Kurashev with Bedard and a physical winger.

The only possible answer I have is they must think they need Kurashev to play 2C because they don't like anyone else there which also means they want to keep Dickenson at 3C. Interested to see how Mikheyev does with Bedard.

Trade Anthanasiou for Dvorak

Here's how it's going to begin... I like Kurashev with Bedard but I also prefer Kurashev as a center. He's a much better 2C than Anthanasiou. Bert and Hall as his wingers seem like they’ll compliment him, speed and grit. And it's nice to see Murphy off the top4, limited minutes will be good for him, plus playing with a strong dman like Allan. Mikheyev has looked good so far, speed, size, and responsible defensively, that'll help Bedard and Teravainen focus on offense.

I liked the Bertuzzi signing but he’s been underwhelming so far. Time to move some redundant pieces to shore up the centre position.

Load up the first and the second PP is Shevy and the fourth line. Mikheyev is somehow good enough for first line winger but can't find his way onto even that second unit?

Phillips is in Rockford now. At this point. I don’t know what to make outta Phillips or Kaiser. I’d rather both gone and Allan and EDM take those spots!!!

Front office has a thing for Kaiser Front office isn't alone - I think very highly of Kaiser too. I've said it before and I'll say it again - Kaiser reminds me of Duncan Keith and especially now that he's added toughness and physicality into his game. Will he end up being a HOF'er like Keith - probably not but I think he'll end up being one of the Hawks 6 best d-men before too long.

Philips could've stayed up so that our big 4 could play together in the Rock, imo, but Allan might be ready... I'd like to see some more of Kaiser before we cast him onto the scrap heap...

I'm not high on him either, seems like he's injured a lot and his decision making isn't NHL quality. I hope he makes me eat crow but I doubt it.

What put me over the top on Kaiser was seeing him play at the end of the season with Rockford. The aggression he played with was consistently noticeable - not in a bad way like taking risky chances like diving into the o-zone when he shouldn't - but in using his skating to challenge plays all over the ice. He engaged with hits and even dropped the gloves a couple times. It was impressive.

I guess it’s a good problem to have. I feel that if one of Kaiser or Philly are keepers. The Hawks will have to trade one of the others. Can’t stall a kids career for your own selfishness. I’m sure there’s trades to be had for young ready Dmen!!!

The lack of urgency with expiring,23yros Phillips and Crevier might suggest the Org doesn't see the NHL in their futures. This year is the last chance to assess both young D-men before decisions have to be made on them......or have they already been made? Kaiser is also expiring at 22 with KK,EDM,'Lev' and Rinzel nipping at the heels of all three,is one D spot enough to assess more than 1 or 2.....and which 1 or 2?

Kaiser in the lineup tonight - replacing Allan and paired with Murphy. Happy to see they have him playing his natural LD rather than playing RD like he did sometimes last season.

Dumb move, Kaiser should be replacing TJ or Martinez. But his speed on the backend will be welcomed, hopefully he's not a turnover machine.
