Sir Sean Connery is dead at the ripe old age of 90. he was one hell of an actor.
this is a YT clip of him accepting an award in 2004. for some reason it kind've struck me and i've watched it a few times over the years.

alex trebek has died at 80 years of age, about 19 months after announcing his pancreatic cancer. he died at home just 10 days after recording his last jeopardy episode, managing over 8200 shows across 37 seasons as host of the show. sad news to wake up to. spent many years and many episodes growing up playing jeopardy with family...when the theme song would come on someone would yell "jeopardy" and we'd all fall in to our familiar places around the tv. i'm glad he was still working 10 days before he passed, he couldn't have been suffering too terribly for too long. R.I.P. edit: j-archive.com/for fans of "jeopardy", this is a site with every archived match. i go to this site almost daily to try and keep a few neurons firing inside the gray matter and to reaffirm just how bad i was at the game. dbl. edit: not surprisingly, trebek had strong ties to hockey. www.nhl.com/news/nhl-mourns-loss-of-jeopardy-host-alex-trebek/c-319594978?tid=280751088^^ classic footage.

Unfortunately GT he said in interviews that he did suffer greatly, he just never let it show on camera. I know what pancreatic cancer does, as I lost my brother to this disease. Alex Trebek was one of the great game show hosts of all time and Jeopardy will never be the same. His episodes will air until Christmas day, and hopefully a channel like the Game Show Network will pick up at least some of the 37 years of the show to enjoy, as trivia questions never get old.
I hope Jeopardy will be able to find a replacement that can carry on the tradition. But watching it will never be the same.

YEAH......thanks gt. I love Jeopardy and I loved Alex! I have more experience with pancreatic cancer than I'd like to having lost an older brother and brother in law to it and when I heard Alex wasn't to have surgery,I knew we wouldn't have him for long. A diagnoses of the disease is the last thing any patient wants to hear because this monster is the most deadly disease in the world. Both my brother and brother in law were able to have the 'whipple procedure' that takes a 1/3 of this and a 1/3 of that and leaves the recoveree with a new normal but it also offers a chance. The chance can buy a guy 4-5 years before the disease rears it's ugly head again and then it's a matter of time. Pancreatic cancer has a survival rate of 20% BUT survival means three years after diagnoses so it's basically un-survivable. Both my family members got close to five full years after their surgeries and that's about the best you can ask and both enjoyed the hell out of those five years.
Alex Trebek had a glorious 80 years on the old planet and he was stellar until the end or at least he gave the perception of it. As gt pointed out,he was in the studio Oct 29th but I'm sure his bad days were bad but life's what you make of it.
What is......R.I.P. Alex Trebek!

fred sasakamoose played for the hawks for 11 games in the 1953/54 season. he was the first indigenous nhl player. he died of covid today in prince albert, saskatchewan. sounded like quite a guy. A week before he died, the prairies received and early winter snowstorm and there is video of Fred Sasakamoose on his quad plowing snow. In his hospital room, he wanted to move the way he did at home, touching both sides of the wall in his room 100 times. “He didn’t want to lay down,” Neil Sasakamoose said. “He laid down at 2 o’clock (on Tuesday) and that was it. Fifteen minutes later, he was gone.”www.si.com/hockey/news/fred-sasakamoose-a-triumph-of-courage-and-grace

Ray Liotta at 67 - yikes! He had not looked all that healthy the last couple times I saw him on TV but 67 is way too young and sounding younger and younger all the time.

"the killer" did pretty good reaching 87 considering his lifestyle. add me to the list of those who thought he'd already passed.
anyways, this song's been covered to death but it's my favorite JLL number.

RIP christine mcvie, dead at 79. it shouldn't surprise me she was that old but it does. she was the oldest one in fleetwood mac but the rest are all well into their 70s as well. sad news to wake up to.
listening to YT just now they are saying that on F.M.'s greatest hits album that she wrote 7 of the 16 tracks.

I saw Beck at both places… he was at comiskey.. with Rick Derrenger and Aero Smith and Jan hammer.. back in those days they say if you remember things you weren’t there… lol I remember Beck was playing when someone set a fire in the upper deck of left field that got pretty big… Beck asked in the microphone what should he do..looking back at his band and the crowd said play.. and he played to the flames roaring.. That was the years of jazz fusion.. guys like Stanley Clark, Chic Corea, Al Dimeola.. Jean-Luc panty great drummer Billy Cobham … and of course my man Frank Zappa..and many more. edit: one of my favorite albums from Beck is “Blow by Blow”… that’s some bad ass music… “I got my head out the window and my bear feet on the ground”…. Great lyrics.. ))
