Bolland would be my pick for most underrated Hawk - no question. Crawford is number two. Hjalmarsson is number three. Bob Murray is number four. I would switch Crawford and super Dave. CC never got much respect. |

Even local writers would often find a way to pepper a positive article with some type of disrespectful 'house of blues' or 'Yotes PO series' reference and even 'Edzo' joined 'Doc' on their 'Crawford's glove' schtick back in game 5 of the '13' SCF on national TV.........even though Rask allowed more that game. The great Corey Crawford gave up three the rest of the way to win his first cup. I woulda got drunk and dropped F bombs too!LOL! |

Interesting family business! Hawks have had truly outstanding goaltenders over the years and Belfour was obviously one of them. Hopefully there is another one out there soon ready to join this elite group.

i was hoping to find a video of him on YT doing his act. nothing yet but he does an interview on this podcast that's pretty interesting.
he is a complex and colorful cat...i'll give him that.
he also mentions NBC approached him for the color job on the hawks' broadcasts but he turned it down.
he was asked about his "proudest drunk moment" and he tells the story of helping that homeless guy in arizona by paying his hotel bill for a month (the one where president obama called him out at the whitehouse).
he went on to say that when obama called him out he was so nervous he almost threw up and had to "hold on to seabrook's pocket" to keep from falling over.
and speaking of throwing up, he regularly did so before games same as glenn hall.
i often wonder if scott darling wasn't on his game against nashville if we end up with just 2 cups? pretty good chance i reckon.

resurrected this almost 2 1/2 year old post because another p/o game popped up today on YT, 2013 game 5 red wings at chicago. thought i'd add it to the list as it was an incredibly important win in the '13 run. 37 days to go until the start of the season. if anyone needs a fix or 2 to get them there, you might find it here. edit: found game 6 and 7 of the detroit series as welll as a few others that are bolded. |

being there for games 6 and 7 vs the wangs in 2013 will always be a favorite live sports memory of mine, especially the "let's go 'hawks" ringing out as the wangs fans exited the building at the end of game 6 and the extreme rage then extreme joy of game 7...
