Let's see what's been up since, as faulty memory serves...
I retired from being a middle school science teacher. I do miss it, but not enough to unretire! My wife and I built a house on the 5.16 acre property we purchased in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana. We couldn't live in the house until completed, so we spent over a year in a fifth wheel RV. It's been a ton of work for me finishing the house and tending to the sprawling property. The Hawks have been drafting well including their own franchise player. The Bears have finally found a franchise quarterback! Oh, and the White Sox are the most pathetic major league team I've seen!

Hey gig, it's great to hear from you and happy to hear things are going well. Retirement is great - it's wonderful to not know or care what day of the week it is. :-) Now that it sounds like your nomadic lifestyle is transitioning in to a more settled lifestyle at the new homestead - hopefully you'll find more time to get back to posting here like you used to.

Figured I would post this here on the way to my mom's house Sunday turned on NHL network they were at the Blackhawks for what they were calling draft efficiency from 2006-2015. the criteria they used for efficiency was playing 200 games. The hawks were 28th out of 30 teams. The stat that was crazy from 2006-2015 they drafted 29 Dmen only 1 played more than 200 games wow...

gonna be an interesting camp for KK...

Anything can happen. But it really sounded like TJ will be with Vlasic. I thought I heard that those two would be roommates on the road.
We’ll see what happens. I still believe KK will be on the roster. I also feel that if Reichel has a bad camp, he’s outta here. There’s just too many players to choose from now.
I’m not gonna guess the forwards yet. But I have to think the D will be Seth-KK. Vlasic-TJ. Martinez-Murphy and EDM as the 7th. I just think EDM is ready, and KK has a year under his belt. He’ll be better. Towards the end of last year, KK looked really good.
As for Kaiser. I just don’t think he fits the mold of what they want on D. He’s not a tower of power back there. I just don’t see him getting a spot before KK or EDM. If anything he’d be a slot filler for half a year. But I see him getting traded soon too. He’s probably good enough to make a roster somewhere. There’s just too many in Chicago for him!!!

Hmm...why would you (Pope) remove Kurashev off Bedard's line? I mean I get it, TT on paper is superior than Kurashev, but you would think you would want to build off the chemistry that Bedard and Kurashev had last season. Pope's line would be a good PP1 line, but 5 on 5, I would keep Kurashev on that line, at least to start the year. I would put TT on the 2nd with Hall; I may even try TT back at center. Why not? Could he be any worse than AA at center? I know TT failed at center, but still. AA is adequate I suppose but it's not like he's your ideal second line center.

BREAKING NEWS.
i took a quick look on google images and the only pic i can find of bertuzzi with a full set of front teeth was from 2013 on his draft picture, and another one from the AHL but not sure of the year.
there were likely more than a few who back in the day appeared in the off-season missing a tooth or 2, but i can't think of any in recent history that have done that.
he's not going to make the cover of GQ even at his best, but having a full set of teeth definitely adds to his appearance.
anyways...whatever blows your hair back, i guess. i just find it a bit odd. i suppose it does save a bit of wear and tear on the toothbrush.

Sudbury boy. Definitely walks to the beat of his own drum. Looks like the kind of guy you’d see on any Saturday night walking out of a hotel bar in any small town in Canada. I’m looking forward to watching him play for us.
