this sounds troubling.
i hope delia gets the start if crow's still MIA. if subban isn't in the blackhawk's future i'd sooner give the "post season" experience someone who is.
i just hope crow comes back, or that he's at least okay.

I watched the live scrimmage today and I like the lines, Debrincat and Strome aren't together but at least they're on the top6, Dach has his own line on the 3rd with Kubalik and Caggiula 👍 Plus it's nice seeing Seabs out there looking refreshed and making strong defensive plays. wow. i didn't know it was available to watch. is the link on the hawks' main page? dach, kubs, caggs. i really like the sounds of that. good news about seabrook. thnx for posting.

I like the choice to wait a year too. I just couldn't see how some practice time now was going to really help him very much next season. Looking at it from Mitchell's viewpoint, although he has had three years in college, his choice does give him three years instead of only two the other option would give him, to develop and prove he can be a good NHL'er going into negotiations on his next deal. I'm assuming he weighed this against how much he could develop in just two years and then being able to sign another deal in two years. I don't know how much of a factor his smaller size will be in his development.

I dunno you guys. I respect the opinions and the optimism but Kane and JT have career years.....busted up,Strome and D-Cat have career years.....busted up,Kubalik's on pace for mid 30's as a rook and JT's about to set a career assist mark.......busted up apparently also. All three combos also had dubious off wings too. You DON"T want your scalding hot rook with either of your two set up men? Would JC have moved the Breadman to the 3rd line for balanced scoring too? Don't laugh!

We definitely can point the finger at Stan. He promised him money, now the kid wants his signing bonus or whatever monies he’s entitled to, due to Stan Bowman’s terrible negotiations..... again!!! From the article: " Mitchell’s contract can’t include a signing bonus or performance bonus payable this season. It can contain a signing bonus payable next season, as long as it’s dated to be paid after the opening of this offseason free agent signing period, which starts following the 2020 NHL Draft (scheduled for Oct. 9-10) and the conclusion of the Stanley Cup Final." Are you saying Stan promised Mitchell other money under the table, beyond what's called for in the contract? If he did, how do we know this? Was there an article about it? Was it okay with Mitchell's agent? Back in April, it said the terms of the contract have already been agreed to; only the AAV and start date haven't been determined due to the suspension of play because of the coronavirus. It's the same kind of deal Romanov signed with Montreal. I need to correct the earlier mention of the Blues player choosing to use his first year; his deal will start in 2021. YES!!!!! I’m saying that and then some. Hookers (Covid free), blow, just like Jesus Shuttleworth! But I’m positive that Stan makes handshake agreements with guys. Remember Leblanc? If he played in an NHL game he’d get a certain amount. There’s reasons why certain guys sign here. It’s kinda like circumventing the cap. Guys are getting paid decent money to sign here. Like if they play an NHL game, they’ll make 3/4 of that salary in the farm. So Stan makes sure that they get that game or games. There’s a reason why so many of the Euro and college guys sign here!!!

Since I haven't heard any CC chatter around here,I'll link Pat Boyle's podcast,it was interesting.... www.nbcsports.com/chicago/blackhawks/why-blackhawks-phase-3-training-camp-has-had-extra-intensityWhat we do know.... CC was healthy when play was suspended four months ago CC didn't take part in any phase two activity that started a month ago CC did not opt out He and his wife had their second boy in Chicago in late April He's a UFA going into next year The 'unfit to play' tag really tells us nothing since it's the only thing they can say but the GM and the HC sound like they're making plans to be without the two time cup winner.

I’m gonna come straight out and say it. The full rebuild will be on. They’re more than likely not re-signing CC. It helps with finances and the rebuild. Bring on the first overall and a litany of trades!!!

I noticed it on the Blackhawks Facebook page and watched most of the scrimmage. Dach looks bigger and more confident and I read a report minutes ago confirming that. Dach said he spent the last 4mnths adding muscle and it shows. 198lbs when drafted, he might be 205 to 210 now, plus centering the 3rd line with a sniper in Kubalik and a speedy grinder in Caggs, that line might be the difference if the Hawks beat the Oilers. You know Drake wants to step up vs his old team. And I hope Crow can play but if he can't I only want Subban to play if he earns it and he's part of the future. If he's not, like you said, he shouldn't get any playing time.

The whole point is that the Hawks give these guys more guaranteed money than anyone else. They all have to sign an ELC. So, Stan will put a clause in their contract that if they play a certain amount of games, they collect the balance of the NHL contract even if they play in the minors. It can be a great thing to get guys to come here, but it can also be a horrible thing in cases like Mitchell’s because it has to burn a year of eligibility. Which is a moot point now due to Mitchell making the right move for the GM!!!

Do you really see rational in putting your 2nd leading goal scorer on a shut down line? Nolander takes Kubalik's place in the top six on the day he's nominated for the Calder? WHO else does these things because I ain't seen stuff like this in the past. In a never ending, fruitless hunt for this mystical, balanced scoring......the team went from 3.29GPG last year to 3.02GPG this year and that's WITH the addition of Kubalik. A young HC's need to tinker will stubbornly continue to deny this team a successful Kane and Toews combo,a successful Strome and D-Cat combo and it looks like JT and Kubalik were just too dam good together too. If the Bradman were still here, would we see him separated from Kane to play F'n defense?

If the Bradman were still here, would we see him separated from Kane to play F'n defense? Of course I'd rather see Kubalik with T&K and Debrincat, Strome and Saad together but those lines were announced before Kubalik was announced for the Calder and he has a big playmaker in Dach so I'm ok with that, plus Caggiula showed he can play on any line, their shutdown style will lead to a lot of scoring chances. And we know Panarin can't play D 😆 he couldn't play with anyone but Kane when he was here, Kubalik can play with anyone and still produce so I don't see a problem keeping him away from top defenders. Even Hoss got 20 goals his last season in the 3rd line, no I'm not comparing them, just sayin. Nylander isn't well liked, mainly because of how he was brought here, but he skated with Kane in phase 2 and those 2 were the best forwards at scrimmage yesterday. He's still young so I'm not giving up on him. Plus him Kane and Strome seem to have good chemistry. I watched Debrincat play NHL20 vs other Hawks and he always put himself with Toews and Saad, maybe the coaches noticed that, those are good linemates for him. So unless they shit the bed vs Edmonton, I think these lines could be fun to watch. Plus the D pairings look pretty good, especially without Gus on the top2, Boqvist and Keith aren't the biggest but Duncs is a great mentor for the kid and they have great chemistry. Goaltending will be the big ? if Crow can't play but the team looks to have good depth, so that should help.

It's great he's looking good in practice but he has to translate it to real games against someone besides his teammates. He's certainly got the talent and the Hawks could really use a better and improved and more consistent Nylander but I'm like someone from Missouri: he'll have to show me.

Bring on the first overall and a litany of trades!!! Do you believe CC isn't playing due to his being unsigned? Well, I don’t know, but I suspect that’s the reason. My good friend, his cousins plays in the NHL, and he’s a UFA. He didn’t want to play, but he told me that the NHLPA got them their last couple checks and they didn’t play during that time. So, he was forced to take the money and he kinda has to play he said. Funny thing is the money came in handy cuz I’m putting an elevator in his new house now! But from what I understand, the NHLPA pretty much made that decision for them as UFAs. So from who I’ve talked to, it sounds very plausible!!!

And I noticed the Facebook page said they're live streaming the scrimmage soon, the link goes to YouTube, if someone can find it and stream it, that'll be cool 😁

Yesterdays scrimmage is on Youtube, just watched it and I missed the first two goals yesterday, so it was nice seeing the full thing.
Back to back shifts Dach skated the length of the ice with the puck and carried it deep, first time he found Keith who quickly got it to Caggiula in front of the net for a tip in, second shift he quickly went from his left to right to cut to the net and almost scored, you know it's a sweet move when everything makes the same sound...Ooo lol
It's only practice but it's nice seeing and hearing hockey again, these guys look like they're having fun and skating hard.
Subban made some big saves, one looked like an easy goal but he got across and made the save stretching out, his rebound control is better than Delias but his stick handling needs improvement.
Delia let in a couple but one was a snipe by Strome and the other was a tipped shot by Caggs, but he did make a high quality save on Kane after Nylander made a nice cross ice pass, Delia tracked it well and got over fast and stopped Kaners onetimer going top shelf, off his mask I think. But his rebound control still needs improvement.
It's going to be a battle in net and Lankinen isn't going to make it easy, he wasn't tested much but he didn't let any in, solid and composed.

yesterdays scrimmage. just watched a couple minutes for now. kind of hard for my tired old eyes to follow but the commentary by troy murray is a bonus. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBaBt-w_Zt0The first time I noticed Sikura he fumbled an easy pass in the neutral zone then turned it over for a breakaway, same shift he carried it across the offensive zone blueline but he got pressured and lost it. He disappeared after that, Hawks should try and use him in a package deal. Kurashev and Entwistle look like they're close to cracking the bottom six, if Highmore doesn't play solid 2way hockey, one of those two should get a shot vs Edmonton. Or if there's an injury.
