I know it’s not the most popular to say the truth. But these scrimmages are just that. Guys aren’t going 100%. They’re literally using this to get their timing and feel back. And they actually said just that, not my opinion. This team is far to weak to do much. The defense is either old or slow, or weak and they might as well be slow. Sikura could get 4 hatricks per scrimmage, and it would not matter when Kassian puts him in the wall. I don’t see this as a great group, and the proof is there. Goaltending is a huge issue, and add in a timid defense, I really don’t see how this goes well? Plus Tippet is 3x the coach JC could ever ask to be. This is going to be his only stop in the NHL. The only way the Hawks seriously have a shot at taking a game, is if they go full offense, they could win 6-5. But if JC is still pushing his terrible man to man coverage, Tippet kills him and his dreams!!! The Hawks will need a lot to go right for them to beat Edmonton, not having Crawford is definitely going to hurt and I think the Oilers will take it, and I've told many Oiler fans that. I've also said the Hawks are the underdogs and it's a win win either way, they lose and have a 1/8 shot at getting Lafreniere or win and gain experience, which is valuable for this young team. And I've said it multiple times 'It's only practice', Sikura getting a hatrick only surprised me because he hit the net. There's no way he should play vs Edmonton because Nurse, Klefbom, and Larsson will destroy him...if he went near the net. Don't misconstrue my optimism for being blind to their faults, I'm merely giving my outlook on these scrimmages and focusing on the positives, you can keep dwelling on the negatives all you want but I see growth and a glimmer of hope. “Misconstrue”. Verb. To interpret (especially a persons words or actions) wrongly. Did I quote you? I don’t recall that. Why would you raise your importance to think that? I was literally talking about scrimmages that everyone is talking about. You weren’t even in my thoughts for that post. So I don’t see where you get off thinking that song is about you? I’m all for you quoting me and questioning me. But it had nothing to do with you. Believe what you want. We can debate it, but wow. That had nothing to do with you!!!

Sikura with a hatrick including the OT winner 😳 he played in Toews spot between Debrincat and Saad in the second half of scrimmage, Kurashev was there the first half. Carpenter with a couple nice goals and Seabs blasted one in on Delia, his stride is getting longer and he's looking pretty good out there, especially with his grizzly beard. What is the reason that Toews was out of part of the scrimmage? My son told me that something happened when he was on the ice and as he was exiting to the bench he broke his stick on the ice. Did he get a ding, or what? Does anybody have any more info on it?
JT broke his stick in frustration after the PP practice and bugged out for the rest of it,JC said he gave him the rest of practice off to stay fresh and then he's listed unfit to preform the very next day LOL!.............lyin' 'little BITCH! Seabrook went from "we have younger faster guys" to needing three surgeries n a single day too......what a wothless, fucked up organization! www.nbcsports.com/chicago/blackhawks/jonathan-toews-held-out-blackhawks-practice-one-day-after-leaving-earlyToews and the Hawks were one of two teams/reps that didn't want to return,he and Crawford might have lost faith. www.nbcsports.com/chicago/blackhawks/report-jonathan-toews-voted-against-nhl-return-play-plan-new-cba

This is where I don’t like management and the coaches adding pressure on the kid. Let him play and let him show what he’s got. Pumping him up for your own gain is just adding unwarranted pressure on him. He seems like the kids that won’t fail, that’s why they should just let him play!!! I did not realize that Toews was replaced as captain and #1 center by Dach. Now, that, would be pressure. The young men Dach and Nylander are both being allowed to just play. Dach needed to get stronger so he did. Nylander has to work on consistency. One thing that JC is working on is Nylander's puck retrieval skills. When playing with Kane puck possession is key. Nylander was one of the first on the ice after the shutdown showing his dedication to the team. Eddie and Troy are actually commenting on what they see not from a script or make believe. The question is. Can Nylander continue his current strong scrimmage play to the qualifier series.

Well at least JT's back on the ice today but it looks like CC is a pipedream at this point.

I kinda wish they'd do a little play by play during the scrimmages. I don't know the numbers of all the new guys.

^^ It's the same for me. I kept having to look up players numbers. The goalies were the biggest problem since there were seldom any closeups of the back of their jerseys. Except for Corey I couldn't tell you what numbers any of the other G's were.

I posted what we DID know about CC's situation a while back and there's an answer in there somewhere.... He did not opt out He did not participate in any on ice activities at all and phase two started in early June He was in town as of late May when he and his wife had their second child(a masculine boy child,I'll assume....LOL!) He was completely healthy and playing well last time any of us saw him...... That answer is still a tuff one for me though..... If he never intended on playing, wouldn't he opt out? Maybe posturing or team politics are at play but taking things at face value and being objective.....I just don't know. A positive covid test or a possible sickness from it seems to be a stretch too. If he visited his wife and new baby in late May,I have to assume testing was involved. If he did contract the virus early enough to keep him away from the start of phase two, wouldn't six weeks have been enough of a self quarantine? If he was actually ill from it,wouldn't he have opted out? Not participating in any on ice stuff even though he was in town and healthy as far as anyone knows leads to more questions for me. The more I look for an answer, the more I'm confused.

as far as Murphy goes, it sure seems like he is hurt a lot..... hopefully he is ready to go in Edmonton, but I feel like we are going to see a lot of the young guys at this point.
kinda telling today that there is still no word on Crow, also. that's gonna be a question that gets asked a bunch over the next couple months.

i've had a hunch for a while now that seabrook might make himself available to the expansion draft. i wonder....can the blackhawks retain some of his salary if seattle claims him?

maybe seabrook should've had surgery a long time ago.
this is all i could copy and paste from the article but it says a lot.
There have been times over the past couple of months when Brent Seabrook has caught himself being unnecessarily cautious. After so many years of living in pain, it was “weird” to be able to get out of bed so quickly, so painlessly. It was strange to so easily be able to get low and tie his kids’ shoes, to tie his own shoes, to sleep through the night, even to sit on a toilet.
For so long, back pain was a constant fact of life for Seabrook. For so long, his shoulder — injured way back during the 2004 World Juniors, when Jeremy Colliton was his teammate rather than his coach — was so messed up he couldn’t toss a baseball or a football. Adrenaline can get you through a hockey game, can allow you to throw yourself in front of a shot, or slide on the ice to break up a 2-on-1 before hopping back to your feet. But when the adrenaline dies down, the mundane can become more harrowing than any oncoming slapper.

that's why he wears the A and would've long before had he really given a shit about it. dude would've been captain had Toews not arrived and the franchise needed stars to sell. but Seabs isn't a guy that needs a letter on his sweater to be a leader (not that any of our current lettered players do either, btw). but yeah, he probably should've long ago.

I'm guessing he, Subban, and Delia.

wow.. just wow.. hockey players truly are a different breed of athletes.. these guys play through things that other athletes in different sports would be out for weeks if they had them.. crazy...

Too bad the kid never got a shot here,I believe his ceiling is higher than either Suban or Delia.

The last two summers were long ones, you'd think the team woulda addressed one or two of these issues.
