I knew game 6 vs Boston, game 6 vs Philly, and game 7 of the 09 finals would be the top 3. I'm surprised they didn't give Sidney the top spot, but maybe they didn't want peeps to remember him sitting on the bench for half the game..... I must say, those would be in my top 5. I'd go: 1. game 6 2010 2. game 6 2013 3. game 6 2015 4. game 7 2009 5. game 7 2011 technically all 12 of the wins by the 'hawks would be ahead of 4 and 5, but if I gotta pick others after the 3 Cup clinchers, they'd have to be the wangs and nucks losing the Cup at home in a game 7.

I was wrong.... Kaner for the win is number 1. looks like nhl.com got something right! i would have liked to have participated but my floppy disc of a brain doesn't have the memory needed for that kind of thing. leaving out all games involving the 'hawks, I would numbers 4 and 5 on my list are the ones I easily remember the most. can still remember how happy I was to get sent home early the night of van/bos game 7, which was the only game of the series that I watched, and got to enjoy Kessler's tears. game 7 wangs/pens is even easier to recall. though. I was about 3-4 months from moving to Chicago then, stuck in the burbs of the d..... I was soooooooo happy they lost that game. when the wangs scored in the third, a neighbor in the apartment complex started SCREAMING here we go red wings and all kinds of shit in the courtyard.... when the final horn sounded, I stepped out onto my balcony and did my bestest Rick Flair impression, lol. it was dead silent. my wangs fan buddy is STILL pissed about that series to this day. he insists (and he isn't wrong, tbh) that Malkin should've been suspended for game 3 for starting a fight at the end of game 2 and that had he not played, the wangs would've had a better chance of winning that game and thus the series.... but I don't feel at all bad that he wasn't. 😛

This is where I don’t like management and the coaches adding pressure on the kid. Let him play and let him show what he’s got. Pumping him up for your own gain is just adding unwarranted pressure on him. He seems like the kids that won’t fail, that’s why they should just let him play!!!

Does anyone have info on tv coverage of the games (even the preseason one against the Blues)? actually nbc will handle the games in toronto and sportsnet the ones in edmonton. i have no idea if that means sportsnet gets the conference finals and the cup finals or if nbc moves west and they both do them. and about the exhibition game, no idea either. in a somewhat related matter, during the broadcast of the last scrimmage troy murray mentioned that he would be doing the radio broadcasts by watching the games on t.v. www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/nhl-broadcast-nbc-ontario-government-1.5649894

Watching the 7/21 scrimmage, I think it's their 4th and it was nice hearing Murray in the 3rd one and Wiedeman in the first half of of #4 and Murray again in the second half.
John said Subban is getting the nod, I don't mind this move because he's the oldest of the 3 and he was the backup for the Vegas run, so he experienced an NHL playoff push. Plus he looks the best in the scrimmages with Lankinen and Delia pretty close as the #2. If Subban can help beat the Oilers and maybe a run, he's definitely part of the future and could be signed at a reasonable cap hit of let an arbitrator handle it. But if he fails they can walk away.
And everyone keeps talking about Dach and rightfully so, John thinks he added 10+lbs of muscle, him and Kubalik really compliment each other and we know how Caggs plays. Kirby was in the mid 40s for faceoff percentage in his last season in the WHL, but he's so smart and huge he usually got the puck back probably because he had the widest wing span at the draft combine and knows how to use it, hopefully his new strength and learning from great faceoff guys helps him.
Yes it's only practice but seeing the same lines and pairings and how they're matched up with different goalies is good to watch how chemistry is building.
Nylander-Strome-Kane are making highly skilled plays and finishing.
Boqvist keeps making great plays and sniping sweet goals in tough areas.
Dach and Boqvist could be X factors vs the Oilers.

Sikura with a hatrick including the OT winner 😳 he played in Toews spot between Debrincat and Saad in the second half of scrimmage, Kurashev was there the first half.
Carpenter with a couple nice goals and Seabs blasted one in on Delia, his stride is getting longer and he's looking pretty good out there, especially with his grizzly beard.

I know it’s not the most popular to say the truth. But these scrimmages are just that. Guys aren’t going 100%. They’re literally using this to get their timing and feel back. And they actually said just that, not my opinion.
This team is far to weak to do much. The defense is either old or slow, or weak and they might as well be slow. Sikura could get 4 hatricks per scrimmage, and it would not matter when Kassian puts him in the wall. I don’t see this as a great group, and the proof is there. Goaltending is a huge issue, and add in a timid defense, I really don’t see how this goes well? Plus Tippet is 3x the coach JC could ever ask to be. This is going to be his only stop in the NHL. The only way the Hawks seriously have a shot at taking a game, is if they go full offense, they could win 6-5. But if JC is still pushing his terrible man to man coverage, Tippet kills him and his dreams!!!

This is the OT goal Sikura scored. Again, I wouldn’t put too much into it. He was allowed to walk out front and get a solid shot off. That is not happening in the NHL playoffs!!!Except maybe for Edmonton.

I'm flattered that you consider me 90% of the board..... I'd like to state that my predictions once the restart was announced are relying on Crow playing. if he does not, then I rescind them and predict a first round exit.

But if JC is still pushing his terrible man to man coverage, Tippet kills him and his dreams!!! The Hawks will need a lot to go right for them to beat Edmonton, not having Crawford is definitely going to hurt and I think the Oilers will take it, and I've told many Oiler fans that. I've also said the Hawks are the underdogs and it's a win win either way, they lose and have a 1/8 shot at getting Lafreniere or win and gain experience, which is valuable for this young team. And I've said it multiple times 'It's only practice', Sikura getting a hatrick only surprised me because he hit the net. There's no way he should play vs Edmonton because Nurse, Klefbom, and Larsson will destroy him...if he went near the net. Don't misconstrue my optimism for being blind to their faults, I'm merely giving my outlook on these scrimmages and focusing on the positives, you can keep dwelling on the negatives all you want but I see growth and a glimmer of hope.

What is the reason that Toews was out of part of the scrimmage? My son told me that something happened when he was on the ice and as he was exiting to the bench he broke his stick on the ice. Did he get a ding, or what? Does anybody have any more info on it?
