I wonder if Taige Harding could be converted to forward. Given the present depth on defence, it might be a real challenge for him to find a role with this team at his present position. But if he can play forward and develops a mean streak, we might have something. With his size and physical game, he might be exactly what this team needs for the bottom six. I was thinking the same thing, could be our new Buff. And there's no fighting in college, probably why he went that route so he could focus on other aspects his game. He was born in Glasgow and raised in Western Canada, he has a mean streak.

Pharand with an assist in all 3 games this weekend. Today's assist was a primary assist in the last 5mins to tie it at 3, they lost in ot.

But that's not an easy switch at this level. Everyone brings up Byfuglien but I wonder how many have actually succeeded.

Now there's a powerforward move, and nice finish. He also had an assist today. 5g-6a in 12gms are good numbers and he's on the same upward trajectory from year one to two.

His current 11 pts. in 13 gms,. is way ahead of his PPG for the last two seasons, although that will decline as the season goes on. He is off to a good start though. He had 30 pts. last season and 39 two seasons ago. I went back and read a report about him and it said he had some good attributes such as good size (6'3, 200), good skating, and was a good worker, and could play physical at times. It said he also showed flashes of skills and had a good shot. They looked at him as a bottom six type. It makes you wonder if the Hawks see him as a future bottom six guy, or if he might get lost in the shuffle.

Spellacy more than likely won’t wow you with his numbers. I think he’s gonna be one of those 3rd line player that make any team better. He’s got speed and size with good skill.
The best thing for him, is that he willl be on a winning team and get a culture experience of that environment. Like MVR has stated many times. It’s better to be in a winning environment than a losing one. In the next two years AJ will get all the experience he needs. Spits should be memorial cup favourites next year. They’re currently the top team in the OHL and I believe ranked 4-5 in the CHL!!!

Freshman forward Sacha Boisvert took home his first weekly honor as a collegiate player on Monday, earning the NCHC Rookie of the Week award after a three-point weekend at No. 9/8 Cornell.
Boisvert was all over the ice against the Big Red, pacing the Fighting Hawks with three points on a goal and two assists over the two contests. The Trois-Rivières, Québec, native notched the primary helper on UND's first goal on Friday before recording his third multi-point game of the season in Saturday's finale.
The Chicago first rounder pulled NoDak within a goal with an assist on Saturday before making a terrific individual play to hold the puck in the offensive zone, dance around the defender and bury his own rebound to give the visitors a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes with his second goal of the year.
Boisvert now has two goals and five assists this season for seven points to pace all UND skaters in both points and assists. fightinghawks.com/news/2024/11/4/mens-hockey-sacha-boisvert-named-nchc-rookie-of-the-week.aspx

One prospect that doesn't get talked about but should is 3rd rounder from this year, Jack Pridham. He plays for West Kelowna in the BCHL.
4g-5a in 10gms.
FloHockey covers the BCHL so I watched the Nov5th game and I didn't know what number he was but I was really impressed when I first saw this big kid flying down the ice and they said Pridham.
He looks like he had a growth spurt, listed at 6'1" but might be 6'3 or 4", he looked taller than a dman listed at 6'2", especially when that dman hit him late after Pridham set up a scoring chance, the dman was on Jacks back and gave him a shove and Jack easily got up and threw him down.

I know OTH won’t like this. Was at the spits game tonight. Spellacy was the worst player on the ice at all times. He was atrocious. Spits lose 5-4. I believe….. from what I saw, Spellacy got benched in the 3rd. This is exactly what I seen last year. I’m starting to think Luke is just a terrible talent evaluator. Ive seen 4 Spits home games this year and Spellacy was meh in all but 1 goal of them. I actually go and watch the games and don’t go off of a stat line. I just haven’t seen or see the nhl talent in Spellacys game. I’ve talked to a buddy within the spits tonight, actually had a drink with him after the game. And he said that Spellacy hasnt been what they’re hoping for so far. But they hope he can find his game here soon.
I’m not saying this to be angry or anything like that. But last year I thought AJ was meh. I found out from my buddy within the spits that he had a knee injury and last year was his 4th year playing hockey. So I gave him a pass. But tonight was more of what I saw last year. Not interested in physical play, and looking for the low hanging fruit.
One of my best friends (who lives next door) coached Reyth Smith (my son plays with his brother). He was drafted a year ago in the 5th round by North Bay. So we were all there to watch Reyth play tonight. A homecoming for him. It was nice to see the kid play and make it outta here. Good for him. Hope he can make more happen as he gets more experience. I’m great friends with his mom. Good to see her tonight. Anyways, bad game by the spits. Can’t lose to a team like that!!!

Here is Alex Pharand's assist from last night. He made this one a good one. It's his 12 pt. in 14 gms. Start about 1:26. He's easy to spot. chl.ca/ohl/gamecentre/27476/

Sam Dickinson of the London Knights has 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points in 15 games. Kid will be a better Bouchard. He may be the best dman from that draft. He’s also tough and a good leader. But… he’s a lefty and most teams weren’t looking for a lefty.
Even Zayne Parekh has 4 goals and 11 assists in 15 games. I know points aren’t everything, but that’s what Parekh is supposed to be, a point getter. And he still probably will. Parekh’s team mate Misa is leading the league with 22 goals and 31 points. And there’s your OHL update!!!

He didn’t get tossed out, but the league doesn’t look kindly on that. Not sure what he was doing there. Looked really bad from my vantage point!!!

In the NCAA: Aidan Thompson gets the 1st star; he had 1 g and 1 a. He is now tied for the lead in points at Denver. He has 7 g's and 10 a's, for 17 pts. in 10 gms.
Second star is John Mustard; he scored his 2nd goal this weekend. Third star is Ryan Greene; he had 2 a's over the weekend.
Rinzel had a primary assist. No points from O. Moore.
For Thompson's goal, start about 4:10. I swear he scored a goal earlier in the season almost identical to this one.

Is this a better situation or just a lateral move in terms of competition.
