It’s still hard to say. Lucas Reichel hasn’t played in North America yet. Hard to say where he’ll be. Mitchell was ok, I’d say Beaudin was by far our best young dman. I know he wasn’t on there, but Boqvist is a bust as of now. I think he needs to prove that label wrong. No one is wrong for saying he’s a bust. He’s just an awful all around hockey player. It’s like he doesn’t know how to play. He’s got a few slick moves but zero hockey iq. And his effort is pretty shitty most shifts.
Kurashev, I hope he can take this year as a learning curve. I hope he can come back with more to give. He looked good early on, but that was against the 2-3 other shitty teams in the division. I still have some hope for him.
Hagel was by far the best young player. You know why? He got better as the season went on, and that’s difficult to do. He seems like a good player that can be slotted anywhere in the lineup. I’d bet the sumabich would even play a little net. He’s a beauty.
So for me, I think Beaudin and Hagel are the two to be most excited about. Cuz right now, the cupboards are still pretty bare!!!

I agree about what the scouts said about Hagel, completely as advertised. A terrier with no quit in him who you slide around the lineup and who fits in with anyone. A real nice find.
I’m also going to advocate for Kurashev. I actually believe he played some of his best hockey later in the season when he wasn’t scoring but was playing center. Like it’s said, if you’re slumping you still have to do something and I think he did. He’s a real good skater, does good board work, decent size and good at TKA’s. His FO % also approached 50% the last few games to at least drag that into the low 40’s overall. He has a heavy shot he needs to use more.
All the young defense blurred on me after awhile. I need to see more of them. They all showed potential at times. Beaudin was especially effective early in the year when he played a nice string replacing Boqvist. Even if Keith is able I’d like to see him sit down and let’s see where this defense sits when they can’t get 25 minutes out of him. Might open it up for Beaudin, say, to play his correct side for a couple of games. I also liked Kalynuk’s overall game, but then he’s older and has to show more sooner. Boqvist does little for me and it’s probably that his higher draft position is influencing how I think but I don’t see much of any of his special skills and he’s basically a band-aid.

Most D-men don't mature till they're 24-25ish. After he was drafted, and I said then, I didn't see anything special in his numbers to warrant a high draft rating by the pros. He had a nice season in the Q, but who doesn't. He should have Been sent to Rockford for his ELC time B4 he came up to the Hawks.

To be blunt, I would be happy to never see Bo and Nylander in a Hawks sweater again. You are speaking my language now! I don’t personally see Nylander having much success. Especially after a broken knee. He was timid before that injury, now he’ll be showing even more pussification. Once the above gives up, he can take Boqvist back to Euroland with him. You’ll always hear how good looking the Swedish are, but you’ll never hear anyone say “look out...... the Swedish are coming”!!!

He had a nice season in the Q, but who doesn't. He should have Been sent to Rockford for his ELC time B4 he came up to the Hawks. I agree with almost all you say except a dman maturity age. Makar, Hughes, McAvoy, Heiskanen, Ekblad, Nurse, Chabot, Fox, Doughty, etc etc. There’s a lot of dmen that have a great impact well before the age of 24/25. Boqvist really isn’t that offensive either. 16 points in 35 games this year is meh. He’d be on pace for a 34 point season, but he can’t stay healthy. Also, he’s awful in his own end, and his points have come at a cost. He’s basically the 4th winger. He’s also been thrust onto the top pp unit where he amassed a bunch of 2nd assists. So it’s not like he created a chance or a goal, he gave the puck to a better Kane, and he did the hard work. So it’s not like his numbers are even semi impressive!!!

Great picture GT! Thanks for finding it.
I now have time to give a few more details. Eisbaren defeated the Wolfsburg Grizzlys 2-1 in the deciding game of the DEL championship. No points from Reichel in this game. Shots favored Eisbaren 26-19; both teams were 0/2 on the PP; faceoffs favored Eisbaren 38-32. Like Game 2, Eisbaren also did not fall behind. They scored within the first two minutes of the 1st; the Grizzlys tied it less than a minute later; then Eisbaren made it 2-1 very early in the 2nd., and made it stand the rest of the way. The Eisbaren G had a 94.74% SP in this game. Something interesting about Eisbaren in the playoffs; they lost the opening game in all three of the playoff series, then won the next two in a row to win each series.
Reichel's final playoff stats are 9 GP; 2 goals, 3 assists. It makes his final season's totals, including playoffs; 47 GP; 12 goals, 21 assists. That's 9 more assists this season in 5 more games played.
I looked at where Reichel played for the whole playoffs. Out of the nine playoff games, he played on the top line 7 games and on the 2nd line in the other two. In the 7 games on Line 1, he was at C five times and LW in the other two games. When he was on the second line, he played C one time and LW the other. Both of his goals came when he was on the top line; one goal from each position. Of his three assists; two came when he was on the top line, once at C and the other at LW. The other assist came when he was on Line 2 at C. In all three games in the finals, Reichel centered the top line.
I think his assists going from 12 last season to 21 indicates he's progressed this season. He'll turn 19 in nine days.

I noticed this yesterday about Jakub Galvas signing. I guess he makes the Hawks second Czech prospect, along with Krutil. ttps://www.secondcityhockey.com/2021/5/6/22422972/chicago-blackhawks-latest-news-jakub-galvas-prospects-reports-updates-signings-ed-olczyk-tv-deals edit: the link didn't come through live. What about Teply? My apologies to Teply. Apparently not scoring any goals made me forget about him. Does Rockford have him and Soderlund rooming together? So far, they're both less than the sum of their parts.

Yeah he's been pretty non existent this season, even though he didn't put up many points at the World Juniors him and another 6'3" right handed Czech that was a 4th round pick, Krutil, looked really good despite having a weak team. Haven't seen or listened to Rockford games this season so I can't say how he played.

6'8" Crevier had 2 assists last night and his team won the best of 3 series 2-1, and he scored in the clinching game April 26th so his 1g-2a in 6gms all came in clinching games.
The big guy is a long shot but he's very intriguing because he moves well for a big guy, has good hands, and he's really good at using his size and reach, plus he's a righty.

That's him but the one Bob linked had everything right but his size, he's definitely not 6'. Crevier had 10 goals his draft year and 6 in half the games this year, he can bring some offense while being a big strong defensive player. It's funny watching his compilation video from last season and how guys thought they beat him and he just takes it away with his crazy reach. Him and Vlasic could be a huge shutdown pair someday, unless Stan trades them 🙄

Posted under Hawk Moves but he's in the system and a prospect. Hawks will most likely protect Lankinen so Delia and Subban might be taken or their rights traded. Tomkins is very inconsistent and the very skinny Auburn should be let go, not sure what their plan is with Namilov but he's 28 so who knows. Morris should be brought back and Basse and Commesso might be close to turning pro. But adding Arvid is a smart move, especially with the awesome numbers he put up this season and his age.

I don't go to Hawk Moves very often so it's not a surprise I missed the Soderblom signing in it. I think you summed up the Rockford goal situation fairly well. I agree about the plans for Nalimov; at his age, where do the Hawks see him? I also agree signing Arvid is a good move, especially with his being 21. I know I've mentioned before about the gap in age between the Hawks youngest prospects in Commesso and Basse, who are 18 and 20, and the Rockford group who are all in the mid 20's range. Arvid at least gives the Hawks a young prospect in between that can afford a couple of years in Rockford to develop and still be a youngish player.

I have to say 1 season in the AHL would be best. He's only played a 38 game season on a larger ice surface. Best to see how he handles smaller ice and room to move. And over double the games.
