It was the decision of the Chicago Blackhawk organization to send Dach to the WJC. In 2007 the organization approved of Toews playing in the MWC and no one claimed that Toews was a selfish, entitled POS. In 2010 prior to any SC titles and despite the possibility of injury to one or all of Toews, Kane, Keith and Seabrook all played in the Olympics. It was in the best interest of Dach's development therefore the best interest of the organization to have Dach play in a pressure cooker tournament. He left the boards if you read the 7 posts above. No use arguing with a deleted poster that’ll never respond. Time to let that argument go. Not one other person is talking about it!!! can't argue with that. back to hockey.

What’s done is done and I hope he jumps in and shreds it. I hope Dach isn’t plopped right on the top line. 1) he’s still kinda raw, doesn’t have a year under his belt. 2) he’s been out for a very lengthy time. So I’d like to see him be on the 3rd or 4th line with some pp time for the first 5-6 games!!!

I expect something similar with Dach. I'm guessing he will be in the top 6 by game 3.

I’m of the ilk that you should earn your way up. We’ve seen that this year with Lafreniere. He was just given a top line role with Panera. It failed miserably. He should’ve started out in the 4th line. Then work their way up. He’s an 18 year old with a ton of skill. But they handled it dead wrong. So. I feel we should handle Dach differently than the Lafreniere situation. I don’t like the way the Hawks are handling the youth to be honest, or the Rags!!!

I can understand your point, but Dach was already a top 6 guy. he earned it last season, especially in the post season. I don't think it is the same situation as Lafreniere. not to mention how badly we need more skill in the top 6. I just can't see him spending more than a couple games outside of the top 6. on another note, I didn't think that Lafreniere started in the top 6? I am pretty sure he spent (and is currently still spending) a good chunk of time on the third line and second pp unit. I think they might have rushed him a bit, but he hasn't been skating 20+ a game much this season. I know he got some run in the top 6 and with the top pp unit, but I don't think it lasted top long. he just hasn't taken to the big leagues as well as everyone thought he would thus far. the shortened season with no camp and such hasn't helped his cause, either.

He started out with Panera and Kreider I believe. Then that got switched to Zibanejad to try and get them all going. I believe the first 15 games he was given a spot. The last 15-20? He’s had to earn his way. Now, this year is different as there was no real training camp or exhibition games. So I’d have to think with a more normal season the kid will be fine. Plus the locker room bs that happened in the Rags room with DeAngelo, not the beat start to a kids career. I doubt he’s a bust, the Rags May trade him, but I still think that guy is gonna F***!!!

Wow, that’s quite the doings a transpiring. I love Merp, must of been a really bad day. I’m gonna reach out to him to see if he’s ok. I know he may not be the most positive, but gawd damn that’s not like him!!! so that's 2 posters gone in the last few days. phil decided to cheer against the blackhawks on a blackhawk's message board. merp called our best young player a POS for wanting to play hockey for his country. both posters went with what were obviously unpopular stances here on these boards. both posters most definitely have a right to their opinions but both posters shouldn't get all bent out of shape when their obviously unpopular stances are challenged. This is Phill and I'll thank you to stop bringing my name up. The post above was brought to my attention by a friend who is a member of this board.
You were the reason I left the boards. Because as a supposed moderator rather then diffuse situations, you tend to add fuel to the fires, as you did with my posts in the game day thread. My final comment in that thread were not directed at everyone on this board, they were directed specifically at you, Cudman, and HiggyHawk (2 posters who rarely come on here, but felt the need to comment on the thread that day). And you can add Irmaks to that list although he made his comments after I had already deleted my account. And I want to take a minute to thank both HSBob and Gig for standing up for me and telling Irmaks to back off. He later apologized but then days later he did the exact same thing to Merp, which I read when looking for the attached post I referenced above.
You seem to think you can do whatever you want and come out not smelling like the cyber bully you are, along with Irmarks, Cudman, and HiggyHawk. I have been a lifelong Hawks fan, going back to the original 6 league. I saw my first game on TV at my grandmothers house and no one could get my attention as I watched the game. In my 20's, before the invention of DVR or recording I would not leave my house until a Hawks game was over. My aunt had 2 season tickets and took me to tons of games and hockey was and still is my favorite sport, and the Hawks were always my favorite team. In 2008/09 I bought season tickets with 2 seats, just like my aunt, and introduced the game to nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, who have become fans as well. I paid $1200.00 for those 2 season ticket seats that year, and bought 4 authentic jerseys that cost me $1600.00, this while I was still employed before my depression took over and I could no longer work. I stuck with them thru thick and thin, mostly thin times. I've been consistent with my disdain for Bowman since he got Tallon fired. And one by one everyone around him have gone but the main issue with the decline of the team.....him! So I found an obvious team to follow in the Panthers, because that's where both Tallon and Q were at. I'm torn all the time by my hatred of Bowman compared to my love of the Hawks. Yet YOU mocked me when I stated I was and still am a Hawks fan. I just can not follow or root for them until such time that Bowman is no longer with the team, which seems to be unlikely in my life time.
What the hell have you done to promote this board except go out of your way to find reasons to bring people down with your superior attitude? You have always been one that if you see the slightest possibility of proving other posters wrong, you post what you have searched for, going out of your way to prove how superior you are to anyone else on this board, and the old ones, at times telling them to do the research before posting. Not everyone has the time or experience on the internet you do, but you need to make sure to rub it in when you can. Yet, when I told you something in a private message about a controversial thread that should have been deleted, and YOU decided to leave it up until it went south, then I again PM you to say in a joking way I told you you should have taken the thread down. That pissed you off because you don't want to hear I told you so. You also made it a point to say that just like you, T-man asked me to be a moderator and I turned it down, with the reasons stated 2 paragraphs down. And yet, that's what you do every time you can poke holes in peoples posts.
You have no business being a moderator. When this board was created, I went out of my way to search for other members of the old board to try and get them here. To my recollection, I found MVR, RinkRat, Merp, Nuckluck, if not more. And when Big-T said he knew how to get ahold of Creature, I encouraged T to work at getting him on here. These guys were outstanding posters on the old board, even if I didn't always agree with them. I consistently told T-Man what a great job he did to replicate this board to make it feel like the old boards were never gone. Yet people like Irmaks remains while throwing out insults to both me and Merper when both of us had blowups, things he did consistently on the old boards as well. So now GT please explain to everyone what you have done to try and find old friends from the old boards to add to the page? You've done absolutely nothing.
I've posted this before on both boards. I suffer from severe depression. I came to the boards because it's one of the few things I had and I considered many on here friends, even if we never met. I moved to Florida 4 and a half years ago to be closer to my sister and she died January 29th, 2020. She was instrumental at helping me thru many of my hard times. I am now completely alone in Florida, and being an extreme introvert I only know my next door neighbors and spend 95% of my time alone. I've had numerous health issues since moving to Florida, needing nasal surgery in October, knee surgery in December. I was also in the ER in November and diagnosed with Diverticulitis. I have woken up every morning since June with pain in my gut, which subsides about 2 hours later. I've lived on disability for the past 12 years, and fear the possibility of losing my home due to financial issues because my social security increases don't come close each year to how cost of living goes up. And you GT know full well, because you read everything that comes on this board and I told you in the PM mentioned above. But you revel in telling people to expect blowback for speaking their minds, basically telling me I should go find a Panthers page to post on. So YOU are why I deleted my profile.

I still think Suter, although he’s done a decent job centering our first line, is better off as a wing long term. So maybe Suter plays the other wing with Janmark and Strome centering them. Then Kampf stays with Kubalik and Hagel, that line just works right now. That leaves Soderberg with Carpenter and Kurashev I guess as a fourth line option. Walmark and taxi squad guys cycle in and out as required. I really hope they aren’t pushing Dach, young bones or not, just like a hockey stick looks sound until it snaps, bone breaks can be a tricky thing.

I know depression all to well having lost my dad to suicide when I was 21, I've also lost an uncle and a few friends the same way and battled with depression myself, I truly hope he gets some help ✌

For those of you that don't know, diverticulitis is nothing to take lightly. Our adult son almost died from it two years ago. They had to remove 8 inches of his colon and he had a colostomy for about 6 months before they could reattach his colon. Then he developed sepsis and spent a few days in ICU before he came out of his battle. It was life-threatening and very scary for all of us. My son's main problem was that he didn't know what was going on and the ER people told him it was probably a virus that he'd just have to "ride out." A few days later his infected colon burst and that began the terrible months that followed.
Phil, hope you are getting good medical attention for your condition(s). I hope the best for you.

So it’s easy to judge, but I hope we can all understand other peoples situations especially when they’ve made them available to us. I’m sure depression is awful along with a litany of other things. I hope all is well with him!!!

I will be the first to admit that I don't have the ability to label some young player as someone who can't miss getting into the Hall of Fame. There are others who are much better at it and I will follow their leads because I know they know and can see more in a guy than I can. I am only posting to say that while I wish Dach the best and hope that he will become a great Hawk player, I haven't seen greatness in him yet. To me, he may have it, he may not, but the jury is still out. That is not a knock on him, it is just a statement that I have yet to make up mind on him and how much he will contribute to the cause. I do sincerely wish him the best in his career and hope he will succeed and wear the Hawk sweater for a long time.

I’d also have to say either an attitude problem or maybe he just parties too much? There’s a good chance most kids like him feel they can make it “just cuz”. But he’s probably hung titty 3-4 days a week. And chasing ladies is probably the sport he’s most interested in. This is where coaches need to lean on the vets in the room to get these kids back together and focusing on hockey. And maybe 1-2 days out a week, unless they’ve got the time off. I really don’t wanna judge the kid too much. But when a coach says that, there’s definitely something there!!!

He may have just been too comfortable being handed the minutes he was getting, thinking he didn't need to work any harder because he'd made it. Now, he's pissed off, wondering what he's doing wrong. Hoping he now seeks out the advise of vets and coaches and his game starts to show signs of improvement in every facet.

Dach doesn't strike me as a guy who parties and Kings comments doesn't suggest that, Dach didn't have anything on social media till his last season in the WHL, not even Facebook, but one of his charities asked him. That's because he's focused on hockey and sometimes he gets frustrated with himself and he shows it on the ice, possibly off as well. Hopefully Kings comment was about Dach letting things get to him and to calm his emotions. Or maybe I'm totally wrong and he's out partying and slaying, Hall and Ebs were famous for it here in Edmonton that a local radio station, The Bear, had a segment called Hall and Ebs.
