102 penalty minutes and a goalie fight at the Saddledome last night...….now THAT'S a hockey game!

Speaking of climate change..... if you were to look at the NHL standings from 3-4 years ago, it seems a lot of divisions are turned upside down. Much different climate in the nhl these days compared to a few years ago. Teams like Toronta, Florida, Carolina, Colorado, Vancouver are all trending up, whereas teams like Chicago. LA, NYR, Nashville, SJ, Anaheim, Detroit and even the Sens are all trending downward. Massive climate change going on in the NHL!!!

Holy crap it's tough out east this year! The Canes are 6th in the 'Met' with 63pts and the top two teams in the Atlantic are a combined +89,those teams might beat each other up real good in the PO's.

The Joker saw 21mins+ last night in the Sabres 3-2 win in NY(almost 6mins more than Dahlin)and sees 20+ with regularity now while keeping fellow righty and $5M vet Bogosian on the bench. The Org mis-assessed Henri Jokiharju IMO......regardless of the return.

And he traded a much coveted right shot D puck moving minute eating Dman for obsolete farm machinery. That’s in the book of “How to lose a job in a half hour”, written by “The Bowmans”!!!

Joker looked good in his 1st NHL camp and made the opening night lineup and a HC who's supposed to dislike kids(fallacy) and prefer vets to a fault used the term "giddy" to describe his early season play. The HC was supposed to also not get along with his GM yet he inserted the GM's 1st round pick into the lineup @19 without any qualms as he did with D-Cat(2nd round) the year prior. The new HC seemed to have much less appreciation for the player, cutting his minutes and demoting him to Rockford to play Forsling and other less deserving players IMO and then moving him the following summer. One would think a GM would be slow to trade his own 19yro,1st round D-man who saw solid NHL play after a solid WHL season but ours was quick to make this decision or is hasty a better term?

I’ve tried hard to give Stan credit. But it’s moves like these that make it hard to cheer for the man. Firing a Hall of Fame coach for a raw, and I mean raw rookie head coach to right the ship is backwards. When the playoffs are missed again, and players are regressing, how the hell can the org keep on keeping on with these two? I’d love to see a fresh set of eyes in here it a real direction. I cannot stand the lunacy of a GM saying “we’re trying to get better every day”. Then he makes moves like the Joker trade, or the Shaw trade, or the de Haan trade, or the Smith trade, and that’s just one gawd damn summer. Gomer Stan Pile should not be here for another decade of failing and wailing. I fear we’ll see another stupid trade to to get the Hawks in the playoffs. This is not a championship team as it sits. We’re in the middle of a rebuild, why the hell does he see the need to “go for it”? Spend the next 2 years rebuilding then make a solid run for it. If we’re not rebuilding, why all the high picks and kids in the lineup? Sounds like a rebuild to everyone but Gomer!!!

Just got a text from my cousin in Buffalo. He was lamenting the Sabre's season, but said the Joker has been a damn good player for them. "I never heard of him before the trade before we got him, but he's he's been solid since we got him. Can play in pretty much any situation . Really good skater. Doesn't make mistakes. Not a typical 20 yr old."

I’ve tried hard to give Stan credit. oh man....i wish iknowpuck was around to read that one. he'd have a bloody aneurysm. : D I’m his biggest critic, no doubt. But I tried to give credit this summer for a lot of his moves. I gave a lot of credit. But I never should have gone against my original thought of him. He traded for 2 injured players in Shaw and de Haan. Trades AA for a much worse player in Smith. I’ll still give credit for Lehner. I never really cared for Maatta and I still don’t. And the Joker trade. I tried to be positive about the moves he made and it hit me hard. I’ve learned my lesson with him. Oh well. It’s only hockey and we’ve had our time in the sun!!!

4th team in the last 3 seasons for galchenyuk. good trade for both teams imo. Interesting trade. A former 1st, future 1st and a 2nd round prospect for Zucker. What would be our nearest comparable, Saad? A year younger, a little more expensive and a better scorer. What could he bring in if he’s moved at the deadline?
