Never wanna hear that stuff. It’s a great thing he was at the rink, cuz I’ve seen the flip side when they’re not like Mickey Renaud, he died at home and our community was destroyed by that, as was his family and a few of his team mates were there when that happened. Same thing with Alexi Charapanov. I had the luxury of meeting his dad in Columbus at the draft. Juri Fischer had the same type thing in Detroit and that was scary as hell to see.
I’m very happy for Bow that it happened when he was around the right people. If he was at home, chances are that he’s no longer with us!!!

Too bad about JR. He’s a great guy and was very good on tv. I think they should’ve made him apologize and move on. What ever happened to second chances and living in a society where people can be forgiven? On top of that, it was literally all jokes, maybe tasteless to some people, but I seen no harm in it. I hope JR gets another gig elsewhere!!!

"tasteless to some people" is all it takes these days. he'll land on his feet somewhere, no doubt. like you said, he is pretty good at what he does.

boy....has anthony duclair come down to earth in a hurry. in the 37 games leading up to december 23rd, he had 21 goals, 9 assists and was -1. in the 18 games since he has 0 goals and 4 assists and is -9.
i guess he's not taking anyone by surprise any more.

stupid, dirty play. what were you thinking, man? edit: no penalty called Kassian never struck me as Mensa material. Will the NHL look at that? After all, its not like he plays for Boston.

After all, its not like he plays for Boston. we have precedent. skinner got 2 games in '12 in a very similar play. with kassian's history, he'll likely get 4 or 5 i'm guessing. vimeo.com/72370952?ref=tw-sharevimeo.com/72370952?ref=tw-share

this shootout goal by panarin counted....apparently even after it was reviewed. i don't see how it could be legal. he sure didn't maintain forward motion that i could see.

bummer if this ends JB's career but obviously things could've been a lot worse. he's had a relatively injury free career up until the incident and owns the 9th longest ironman streak in nhl history (737 straight games over 10 years). he got his cup, over 1200 regular season games and 36 years old. so he's been fortunate in many ways.

Seems fair considering his history. But what bugs me is guys like Chara who are never suspended because they have no prior history of being suspended because they’ve never been suspended because...and so on.

The Catch-22 that lets the NHL dept. of player safety get away with protecting the stars.

They talked about that a lot back home here. The reason is because many many goals would never count. Panera had lateral movement at the end there, so they said what’s the difference from that and someone starting off going lateral to the boards and then cutting in. So I see what they’re saying now. Basically they’re back tracking on their own rule!!!

But if the player drags the puck backward at all that supposed to end the play.

That Madden kid is sposeda be pretty good. But I looked him up and he’s 5’11” and a very large frame he’s got at 150 lbs. I wonder how Stan didn’t find out about him? That would be a Bowman 1st rounder if he read the reports!!!

not good news for av's fans, or fans hoping the west challenges for a cup this year. that's gotta' be a shoulder injury. done for the night.
edit: 6-8 weeks, busted collarbone. could've been worse.
