i'd say saros was a bit too deep in his net yesterday. I recall Hawks scored a similar goal on Pekka Rinne in the playoffs believe it was 2010 and possibly at same side of the ice.

I would have loved to see Byram for the Hawks. Not sure how that would’ve got done. But now Buffalo has some real kickass Dcore.
He will do fine out of Makars light!!!

Byram for Mittledstadt. Not sure what the Avs are thinking on this one. Byram next contract going to be expensive? My understanding Mittledstadt looking to get paid as well. I know Byram is LH but wished KD would have made an attempt to get him and maybe he did. Would love to have him on the Hawks.

I think Guentzel would work better in Vancouver and so would Lindholm in Boston.

I’ve always loved what Henrique has brought to a team from his back to back Memorial Cup wins. To becoming one of the best defensive forwards in the game. I think the Oilers did well with that trade. He may be the missing link. Oil have a very limited window, the cap crunch is coming.
If the oil win it all. I say look out, they’ll be tough for a few years. I could see them rattling off a couple Cups in a 3 year span!!!

Just asking if you are the Avs would you rather have Mittledstadt or Strome? I think that would come down to a team's need,Strome's been a more reliable goal scorer and FO guy,and both are good passers but 'Mitt's the better defensive player and he kills penalties. Strome has a few inches on 'Mitt',but the Avs' new center is also the more physical of the two,and both young centers have shown durability the last two seasons after a few dinged-up years. In the Avs' case.....they have offense falling out of their pockets,so the better defensive center makes sense for them IMO. Mittelstadt will be a RFA this summer and coming-off his best two seasons so far w/o missing a start in either one,he'll be looking for a sizable raise from his current 2.5M.

Panthers sign Gustav Forsling to an eight-year, $46 million contract extension with 5.75 million under his new deal. Forsling is a league-best plus-43 and has nine goals and 22 assists in 62 games this season. He's been with the Panthers for four seasons since being claimed off waivers in January of 2021.
Not bad for a waiver claim and good for Gustav. Just another reminder that players develop at different rates.

Cannot recall how Q used him - but making the opening night roster his first season suggested that Q must’ve been seeing something from him. Helluva accomplishment for a 5th rounder.

Carolina to acquire Jake guentzel from Pittsburgh Michael bunting for sure going back along with others If the Guentzel deal is serious, that should mean that Kakko is still available - and this writer presents 3 big forwards, all seemingly in need of new surroundings: blackhawkup.com/posts/3-players-chicago-blackhawks-should-acquire-need-change-scenery. I freely admit that I do not know in detail the league like I used to in the early-90s, but other than much better size, are all 3 the equivalent of Lukas Reichel at this stage of their careers?

Kaliyev and wahlstrom big bodies, not much interest in playing defense or using their size would be change of scenery types. Kaako would be a intriguing player though next to bedard

Carolina to acquire Jake guentzel from Pittsburgh Michael bunting for sure going back along with others This seems odd to me. Canes need a 2C (and a goalie) more than a wing. They could send him to Van for Lindholm?

What was the price to Vancouver that Vancouver walked away from?
