I wonder if these two teams are still going to be going at it when the bruins and canes show up tomorrow morning.

that is an interesting thought for the rags. seems to me like they are gonna be pretty good here in the next year or two. they have a bunch of prospects that look pretty good. gonna be a team to watch, for sure. I dunno if I would do that deal or not, but they are going to be in a 2010 Blackhawks cap situation in a few years, so it might behoove them to get ahead of it.... No way they trade there first round pick. Lafreniere will be a Ranger. To cut salary, Bowman will offer Kane and Hawks #1 to Rangers for Lafreniere. Kane would be reunited with Panarin, Hawks get a generational star for 10 to 15 years.

If I was a Jackets fan I would be livid at these refs. I was yelling you got to be kidding me at every missed call but 4 stood out.
Savard being high sticked in regulation bleeding from the ice with no call. Tampa is screaming from the bench for him to leave the ice after the whistle because of his bleeding. I was like sure get him off the ice as soon as you review why he's bleeding and give TB the 4 minute penalty.
Texia in OT being pulled down on a breakaway no call.
Berge being elbowed in the face at center ice and no call.
Atkinson in the 5th OT being pulled down on a shorthanded breakaway and no call.and I'm sorry Hedman had his stick wrapped around his legs and arm pushing him forward from his back and to hear these idiots saying I don't see a penalty is assinine.

I'd do that trade in 'chel, but no wayyyyy do the Rags do it. they couldn't afford to. they gotta be up against it already. edit: nm, they actually have some cap space. that'd be an interesting move if it really happened... edit #2: nm. I wouldn't make that trade on 'chel. I'd do 88 for their top pick, straight up. if they wouldn't take it, I'd offer a draft pick, but not my first.

There was a lot missed going both ways. I agree that Atkinson should have been awarded a penalty shot or at worse a penalty on Tamps. But I kinda like how the refs put the whistles away in OT. I like the message being sent, “don’t F****** make me call a penalty”!!!

The defense on both TB and CBJ were amazing. Watching their OT then watching the Hawks play D against Vegas, you can tell the big differences. The Hawks need a better coach

Well they gave TB 2 PP's in the OT's and with that Atkinson take down listening to those idiots in their squawk boxes say it was a good no call and didn't see a penalty? Must have felt sorry for Hedman playing with his sore foot. Time to watch Bos/Car. So toodles for now.

I’m watching the Nucks/Blues right now. I’ll admit I was not a fan of Quinn Hughes at the draft. But this kid is the real deal. Best player on the ice at all times. He dictates the play, gets a little dirty when he has to. Not afraid to take a hit or even give one.
I would love for Boqvist to take a look at what Hughes does. I was hoping for a lot more out of Boqvist. Like running a pp and in the offensive zone giving great passes to create room for the shooters. But I’ll eat crow from my thoughts on Hughes...... his brother? I still don’t care for him!!!

I did not love the PP time the Canucks were giving him right off the hop without him earning it. I am eating crow now. I agree with everything you said above and more. Thrilled with how he QBs the PP, and his 5 on 5 play is sublime in all zones. I was wrong. Happily! Regards N.

What a game last night! Green has those guys playing tough and like I said earlier, he’s breaking the Blues plan to trap. I was talking about it the other night in the GDT, but the Hawks kept trying to skate the puck out and got destroyed doing so. But Green is a good hockey mind and has figured out how to beat the Blues. Not saying it’s over. But he has a plan and the neutral zone isn’t being slowed up. Flip the puck in the air get a couple lucky bounces, get the lead, and make them open up the neutral zone to try and score. Plus the Blues are now being call on all their bullshit penalties which is clearly no longer an advantage. This may not be your year, but the Nucks are not that far off. We’ve seen this type team before, trust me!!!

But glad to see your team doing well and playing a clean hardnosed game without the cheapness. It makes it so much easier to cheer them on and watch them. That's a dangerously young team and will only get better. I know because since I don't work I've been out in the Blackhawks Gazebo and haven't missed a minute of any game. Hockey in August! Best summer ever! And playoff hockey to boot! But now some sad news. The Kira dog has passed. She is still with me in the Blackhawks room and will be with me forever as there are specific instructions for that to happen when I kick the bucket. Best friend ever. Hope all is well with you and the family and Good Luck to your Canucks.

And now to get to the league and their assinine rule changes and calls.
What the hell was that call in the Boston game with the hand pass? Torts was right as that explanation was them talking out both sides of their mouths and their ass. For them to say that the hand pass was negated because the GT had possession and froze the puck without explaining why they never blew the whistle is assinine. Does not make sense except to them.
Then with the second vegan goal they reviewed for offside. Is this like the new Hossa rule? That the first thing that went through my mind when they explained the perimeter thing or whatever it was when his skate was clearly off the ice. I would need both hands and most of my toes to count how many times Hossa's goals were disallowed because his skate was an eighth of an inch off the ice. But now it's ok?

You gave her a great life, and that is all any of us can do for our pups. I hear yah on them staying with us forever. I feel that way about Bailey boy. We are back up to two doggos. My girlie is 7 and we have a new boy who is now 18 months. He is another good one. Good luck to the Hawks today and enjoy the summer playoffs. It has been fun! Regards N.

old news but best wishes to claude julien. That’s too bad. I hope he makes it back, but the quarantine rules probably prohibit that. I thought Bruce Cassidy’s after game presser yesterday was awesome. Very classy after a loss. First thing he says is to wish Claude and his wife and kids all the best. And a bunch of other nice words. And that’s right after a loss. Lots of respect for Bruce!!!

old news but best wishes to claude julien. That’s too bad. I hope he makes it back, but the quarantine rules probably prohibit that. here's the quarantine rule if you need to leave the bubble. 4 days minimum. Leaving the bubble: Players who are authorized to leave the bubble for a medical reason or extenuating personal circumstance (birth of a child or death of a family member, etc.) will be permitted to return. They will be forced to quarantine on return pending four negative tests over a four-day period - or longer, depending on the location they visited outside the bubble and those circumstances.www.tsn.ca/how-nhl-plans-to-operate-secure-bubbles-in-toronto-and-edmonton-1.1492443i seen this on twitter about julien. he seems like a good guy. read somewhere else he used to drive the team bus to give the regular driver a rest back when he was coaching in the Q. the YT video at the end is just some corny canadian humor. anyways....4 to zip for the canadiens after 2. montreal is obviously playing inspired hockey. sorry for the disjointed post.

Gawd damn the Canucks are looking amazing. They play tough and the right way. Their skill and toughness reminds me a lot of the 2010 Hawks. They’re up 2-0 in the series and I couldn’t be happier for a team that’s being built the right way. Tanev reminds me of a younger version of Seabrook. The guy is a beast out there. I do believe they’ll need to upgrade their tending, but they got a lot of good things going on..... and this time the right way!!!

Wow. Tuuka Rask just left the bubble and opted out of the playoffs. Said it’s a desire to be with his family.
Although these playoffs are entertaining. I still feel it’s tough to crown a winner. Many teams and players just won’t have the desire to stay in a hotel room forever. They’re used to having the summer off and now their routines are screwed up. Especially guys like Rask that are older and have kids they wanna see them before they go back to school.
However, sucks for Bruins!!!

He said that this isn’t a surprise to them, as they were privy to conversations a few weeks ago. So he said Tuuka was iffy to begin with, and the Bruins fully respect his decision. That’s a lot better than just walking out!!!

The opt out of players before the season resumed to todays announcement by Rask raises an interesting question. When a champion is crowned, will the players that opted out, who played the entire season before the shutdown, get their names on the cup?
