Bob, these are the things that don’t make sense. Toews and AA are great friends along with CC. The chemistry is not there and won’t be there. Stan destroyed any last glimmer of hope this team had to do something special. I know many look at the Blues, but the Blues didn’t have over half their roster turned over, they just hated their coach, Yeo reminds me a lot of Colliton. They seem like the same type guy/coach. I doubt this goes anywhere anytime soon. I hate to be this pessimistic, but it’s now a reality. This team has been pretty bad for the better part of 2.5 years. And we’re not talking semi-bad, we’re talking awful. I don’t see any uptick in performance. I don’t see this getting any better before it gets worse!!! So you're saying the players hated coach Q too then. Why would that be? The team played good under Q, the roster got worse the team got a little worse, the team really wasn’t that bad when Q was fired. But they got horrible afterwards!!! |

JC has been with the team 1 year so far and were very good under him the last 3 months last season. So what changed? SB went and traded a bunch of guys and got slower and slowest players he could find. |

Could have possible traded down to get this kid in the 2nd round but we took a still 168lb Beaudin with the 2nd 1st round pick who's seein' 3rd pair minutes in Rockford......can't ever have enough little dudes I guess.

Why would that be? The team played good under Q, the roster got worse the team got a little worse, the team really wasn’t that bad when Q was fired. But they got horrible afterwards!!! SB went and traded a bunch of guys and got slower and slowest players he could find. The roster changed. Stan keeps changing it and it’s just not working. The last 3 months last season weren’t real hockey and they missed the playoffs because of it. The team was awful and just did a full offensive to get by. The last few games showed their true colour, and they folded like a terrible poker hand, then went home for the summer!!! |

I listen to SC, it’s a great podcast. I found absolutely nothing wrong with what he said. He was just talking about how is wife and Kathryn are best friends and they went on a vacation to Portugal last summer. He said people were asking him how he got to beautiful women, and he just joked about it and and said wonderful things about her and how professional she is. He gave Sharpie many compliments on his work and how they were great friends and that Sharp is unbelievably good looking. Biz and Whit said the same things. Biz said that Sharp was so good looking that if he was married he wouldn’t even let his wife watch Sharp on tv. It was all jokes, I really don’t see how anyone can take that serious. And if they do, they need to lighten the fuck up and enjoy life!!!

gordie howe wasn't a defenseman but he played in 5 decades. unless zdeno's got another decade in him, tough to imagine anyone touching that record.
howe played his last season in hartford at 51 years old and still managed 15g, 28 assists in 80 games.

Good question T-man,maybe mvr or a few others can eyeball this and offer an explanation. Capfriendly lists him and Richards as 'terminated' contracts which I don't recall ever seeing before but Richards is also shown as 'recapture' and Kovalchuck isn't and the best I can make of their cap math doesn't reflect his contract. |

The Kings and Kovalchuk agreed to end the contract. That contract is null and void. The Kings were stupid for giving him the contract after he was 35. He’s owed all the money, and the kings are on the hook for his cap hit the whole way. Anyone over 35 should not get a multiple year deal, it can kill you. So due to his contract being terminated, there’s not much bad to happen........ besides paying him and the cap hit!!! |

Krueger is obviously sold on the Joker to make this move and Frolik adds a dimension to that team because like Ralph Krueger says "we defend as a five man unit" and Frolik will work well with that. This move also gets the disgruntled,5M vet Bogosian back into the lineup. The Sabres have been D heavy all year with nine on the roster at times and last night saw Buffalo dress seven even after trading Scandella. This situation has seen Henri Jokiharju play all 43 games up there while some high paid vets sat and the Joker potted his 4th last night while skating over 17mins and holding a high scoring Fla team to two goals. |
