I want none of Bear. I’ve seen him in the last 2 playoffs and he sucks. He’s really not an NHL player. McLeod is interesting. He seems like he might be a decent 3/4 liner. But I hope they don’t retain salary, cuz although I’d like to help the guy out, if a deal doesn’t make sense, it just doesn’t make sense!!! Oilers fans really over estimate their prospects values. They seem to think Bear is an exceptional player. I’m with you, barely fringe. And I don’t want Caleb Jones either. The point is, does Bowman blink before Holland does and make a dumb trade. |

as far as offering sheeting the players mentioned previously...
who says those guys would want to sign in Chicago? they both are likely already on teams with a better chance of winning anything in the near future, especially Makar. if they did, it would probably be to force their current teams to match. to wit...
do we really want to hand over 3 or 4 first rounders for either of these guys? I would say no. Makar is likely going to be a star for years, but is he worth 4 first round picks and a trip back into cap hell?

Ryan McLeod is an interesting guy. Good size, great skater, not so much finish. But if you want to go bigger and faster there’s worst choices. Bear has some time in but at 24 he’s falling down the Oilers depth chart so he’s definitely not untouchable there. so we are taking back fringe prospects so we don't have to retain salary instead of just taking on a bad contract so we can add better prospects or (better yet) draft picks? how much longer until the Wirtz's realize that Bowman is trying to do what is best for himself (trying to make the team appear half-assed competitive now so he can keep his job) rather than what is best for the future of the franchise? I realize this is at least partially the case for most GM's, but come on... they already sent out a damn letter. we all know the team is rebuilding. quit fucking around and rebuild the damn thing... |

He need to gooo nowww!!! lol, yeah I am aware that sometime in the past 6 months we missed marking the 10 year anniversary of your Bowman thread... I supported him during The Run. he did a good enough job keeping the team in the running after the purge in 2010. since the team won in 2015, he has been piss poor. I've never been a fan of his, personally, after his maneuvering to get his current position, but I supported him at least. I quit doing so during the summer of 2018. he should've been fired along with Q, but we all know how that goes. he had to have a chance to have "his guy" once Q was gone. his guy has been hot garbage and his job performance has left a lot to be desired since 2015. imo, there is little reason that he should keep his job now and there will be less than that after this next season unless a big time turnaround happens... that being said, not much we can do about it here in this forum, so I try my best to keep talking about what can be done now. but, yeah, he needs to be done. this cover-up should be the final straw, but I am starting to feel like that will not be the case and I am going to have to hope the money he spends this summer ends up a wise move and not the waste of time I feel like it may be... |

This is the time for Scam to step up and take back a bad salary. I think the Hawks could get a first rounder thrown in. Even if the Hawks take back Neal, and they retain 1 million of it. It’s only a million for 2 years and not 1.92 for four years. So I’d send them Keith for Neal, and a first rounder. I think they do it. But I fear Scambo is looking to pat the league on the ass and say “we’re back!!! |

Sad day for me might wear all black rest of day. Im glad this did not drag out to much. I wont see a better Dman in that sweater in my lifetime. Jones will be available for Seattle correct?

But i wont be shock if Bowman strike out and ended up re-signing Z as a plan B Seth is going to cost too, but looking around the CBJ fans, theyre fine with Strome+Boqvist + 1st. Im thinking instead of 1st, just give them this 3rd rounder from edmonton considering Seth is a pending FA |

Not sure I'm liking the return. Caleb sure as hell isn't Seth. Maybe Seth won’t have any interest here but the Hawks can maybe parlay the Caleb trade into a different asset for whatever team is vying for him. |

I wonder what the plan is for his replacement The Hawks have drafted a plethora of similar sized, similar style of defensemen over the last few years, including a couple of first rounders. If none of them are up to snuff, then it really is time to revisit the G.M. and his scouting department for these failures and others. |

Rumour came out that Tyson Barrie looks like he’s signing back with the Avs. The Hawks are going to trade this years 1st and and D prospect for Seth Jones, not chipped in stone yet, but that’s the word. So the Hawks need the cap space to get Jones in there. Plus I’m hearing more improvements are supposedly coming. We’ll see. We’ve seen Scam with money before. He jumped into a bin full of tits and came out sucking his thumb!!!

But if Oscar Klefbom doesn’t play, and it’s quite possible he’s done for another year, then his $4.1 million cap hit goes to LTIR. Then Keith only costs them $1.5 or something. |

The 2 worst GM's make a trade. I never stick up for Scam Bowman. I don’t blame him here. He traded a guy to a team that was pretty much the only possibility to go to. He got something for him, basically a 3rd rounder and cap space. I doubt he uses the money wisely. However I fear not only is “it” over, but it’s gonna be a long time before the Hawks get back to relevance. Unless Scam is a really good Scammer, and he pulls off half a dozen great trades. I fear he’s setting the team back a couple decades!!! |
