There is no more confusion. No more excuses. If this doesn’t work (again), I’d actually bet this time Scambo will be shitcanned for it!!! if so, we'll miss you on these boards. : D I’d clearly go to the teams boards that Scambo would work for. Probably Notre Dame!!!

As much as most of us want Stan gone I hope the team gels fast and stays in the top3 of the central from start to finish. Maybe he'll be let go from the sexual assault scandal and not because the team failed 🤞
But one positive about him is that from hearing many interviews over the years it sounds like Stan talks to his players when they're traded or traded for. Fleury found out from his agent who saw it on Twitter, no wonder MAF is relocating his family to Chicago and leaving Vegas. Having Fleury on board for a guy who might be a bottom 6 player, and still playing with the Hogs might be his best trade.
MAFs attitude and mental fortitude are much welcomed, having someone like that in net makes guys work harder.
Hopefully he signs on for 1 or 2 more years, that way the three younger goalies who are 21 and under can develop in Rockford and Lankinen should be ready as a full time starter. Lanks learned a lot last season, having Fleury in his 2nd and hopefully 3rd/4th seasons, will really benefit him.

I was listening to sports radio when they announced it and called Buff live on the air to talk about it. When they told him it was the first he heard of it. Quite awkward.

Forgot about that, seems like a life time ago, but he seems better at communicating now.

At least the Hawks didn't give up a future draft pick for MAF. Mikael Hakkarainen will become a Silver Knight. i guess he never will now. at least he can tell his grand kids that back in the day he and he alone was traded for a 7 million dollar HOF goalie.

MAF is probably thinking: why can't any of these clowns hit the open net...what have I gotten myself into!

fleury going old school. many on twitter don't like it, not me. maybe it's a homage to tony-0?
the mask is pretty generic but i like it. i wasn't sure if the gold grill would work but it should look okay i reckon.
speaking of #35, that number will be on the ice behind each net at the U.C. for the duration of the upcoming season.

I hear ya GT we would say if upper management knew how much fun we were having they would be pissed at the amount of money they are paying us. Fantastic for team building!!! Flower might have the best rep of any hockey player.

Makes work much easier with guys like that. Lankinen reminds me of MAF, he's a real student of the game, having a great vet like Fleury around will only help his game. Plus it'll help the whole team, working hard and having fun in practice should carry over into games.

MAF's played well and is everybody's new Fav but was it worth it? Could that 7M have been used to bring in a bad contract with a good pick attached?
Does it even matter any more?

If he's traded for a first or a good prospect and a 2nd or 3rd I'd say it's worth it for Hakkarainen. Chicago had over 20mill in cap space and Fleury only had 1yr left, of course there should've been some salary retained but it wasn't a big gamble.

On TSN, they listed Fleury as the 27th likely to be traded. They said that there’s a very good chance he will not be moved. Fleury would rather wait till the off-season to decide his fate. Instead of moving three times in a years span.
They went on to say that Ben Bishop is more likely to move than Flower.
So, we have to think that unless a team comes forth that he’s comfy with like Pitt or the Vegans. He’s probably staying put.
With no 1st rounder and a slim prospect pool. It really looks like the Hawks rebuild will have to wait until next year to start!!!

You don't uproot your whole family if you play for a team for a few months. I hope he's moved at the TDL, why wouldn't he want to play for a contender?

KD did say the Hawks are rebuilding. And they will not deviate from that plan. Both Wirtz’s were there when he said it. So they’re all on board. So I would bet the farm that Flower will not be re-signing here. Why would he? Why would the Hawks want him? Next year Connor Bedard is coming out of the draft. He’s the next McDavid. He’s unreal.
He has 66 points in 43 games at 16 years old right now for the Regina Pats. 33 goals 33 assists. He’s got another year of Jrs to go. I can see him putting up 150 points next year. That’s unheard of in their draft year.
A solid first rounder will get a point a game in their draft year. Getting 2.5 is unreal.
Hawks need to let the roster die and get the pieces needed to move forward. Bedard is one of those pieces. Hawks should have the best odds next year!!!

I don't blame him if he doesn't come back but if he does he knows it's a rebuild so he's only playing to be a mentor and pad his stats. His family lives in Chicago now so he either plays here or retires. He almost retired last summer because he didn't want to move his family again so this summer will be the same situation. If he's back the team in front of him should be much younger and they'll take their lumps and probably get a good chance for the first overall. If they get in the top 10 that's when I might consider trading Debrincat or Hagel with the top10 pick to get the 1st overall for Bedard.

seems like with Flower, the team should ask him if he wants to make a run this year or not. if he does, tell him they are willing to move him and then bring him back in the summer for a couple years, if that helps to convince him to let them trade him now.

Thanks GT. I think he stays the year and then retires. He’s earned every right to do what he wants. While I’d love a return for him. I feel that maybe he keeps the Hawks outta the top 5, especially the top 2. The Hawks Do NOT want the 1st rounder this year. They need to send it to the BJs and aim for next year and get a top 2 pick next year. That should be the goal. Cuz the team is gonna be worse next year. So it would suck to give the BJs a top two pick next year. What a shit trade!!!
