A loyal STH like bb27 is a much better source than me but I been goin' to games off n on for 55 years at the UC and the old barn and just like Wrigley...I've seen half empty buildings. Will we ever again? Never say never. It was only 14 1/2 years ago when me,my late brother and two buds went to a Yotes game back in the fall of 07,we got the cheapest 300lvl tickets available and had no problem moving right down to the front row. This was Kane and Toews rookie season,so there was some buzz already around the team too and we got to see Big Buff pot a natty hattie in the 1st. IMO,it'll take 25 win seasons to get top 5 picks and 25 win seasons will absolutely affect attendance.......Rocky knows this......it's in his DNA! Rocky can easily get attendance back by just removing the TV deal for home games like Arthur and Bill did. The "REAL" fans will buy season tickets................ And his beer! And K&T jerseys!

I honestly believe the Hawks will remain top ten in attendance through a rebuild. As long as there’s a plan and there’s progress being made. The team hasn’t made the playoffs in the last half decade and they’ve maintained good attendance. They’ll keep selling tix as long as they stick to their plan and move forward. I don’t see it going to like 10k per game. This franchise is set up to handle a rebuild!!! But I believe the winning has sent a message. That the org will do what it takes to win. I think there’s actual hockey fans in and around Chicago now. A lot of them. A lot of players now are coming from the Chicago area due to the winning. I know Detroit can be a comparison. However the Detroit area is a different animal. 90% of the population lives outside of the city. Detroit has maybe 400k now. Whereas the other 4 million live way outside the city. So most of them ain’t risking their lives to head into Detroit for a non winning team. I think Minnesota would be a better comparison. Minny had some lean years without much winning. Fans always came. May not have been a sellout but they still supported it. I feel fans will still support the Hawks. Especially if they get a new young stud in there to market. Like Bedard. He will sell tickets like you won’t believe. So all they need is really one or two really down years. Bedards draft year is next summer. So it won’t be that long if the Hawks get him!!!

I'm only going off of what I've seen with my own eyes and lived through for well over 50 years of being a Chicago sports fan. Actual hockey fans in and around Chicago NOW? It's an original six city for Christ's sake,Chicago hockey fans have been ACTUAL for a LONG time and put up with 49 years of cup-less hell..........the winning created new fans but most are band wagon fucks.....nothing more. Trade Kane,Cat and JT,go ahead and lose 50 games and see what happens! The UC will be half empty, not because Chicago hockey fans aren't actual fans but because they are and they don't support a terrible on-ice product and a team going in the wrong direction. Those are Bears fans. A long long time ago, there was a place called the Chicago Stadium and it was full of actual fans! The Org will do what it takes to win? You sure? A lotta actual fans see two consecutive AHL coaches, four consecutive poor seasons and a new BB guy brought in for a fresh perspective. We now see the new, inexperinced GM start his journey as a spectator in the first round and his rebuild commence along with one of the game's biggest contracts and longest contracts with all the crippling clauses and bonuses(worse in this case)than we had to deal with in the past.........it'll be a slog......Bedard or no Bedard!

T most of the hard core older fans are gone from the building they won’t be coming back. You have a new younger core of hockey fans and the casual fan. Neither is gonna come see a real bad team there ticket problem now is the club level and lower bowl you only get those sold with a team that dosnt embarrass. Minny is not a great comparison. Chicago has a lot more options to spend your entertainment dollars. Look at the wings full rebuild 5 years of less then 50 pnts a season and still a bad team showing promise but still a bad team. I believe if the front office looks at all angles they resign the whole top line I don’t think they have the stomach for a full tear down they might never recover. The people that were filling up the 300 level at the end of season were not hockey peeps more people to take pics and hang out not very concerned about what was going on the ice.

There used to be an old saying. “There’s only 20,000 Blackhawks fans in Chicago. They’re all not at the game tonight”. I think the Hawks have done an amazing PR campaign the last decade or so. If the Hawks can get a solid top player soon. The PR campaign will fire back up and all will be well. The team has been at the bottom the last 5 years and they’re still 5th in attendance. I don’t think it’ll be that bad!!!
