As I stated, I don't have a problem with women announcers. I have a problem with the play by play announcer on HULU who has a way too squeaky voice. On a play going to the net, she actually squealed like a little girl saying "ooohhhh, a save". The color commentator should be doing the play by play (Cassie). I haven't seen their full names, but I believe it's Leah Hextall doing play by play. i didn't mean to say that you had a problem with women announcers in particular, and announcers whether male or female should be criticized when warranted. i was just stating some numbers i had found. Yeah, there's just got to be better ways to select play by play announcers. Another example is when the Chicago Cubs hired a woman to do occasional games. She has a southern drawl (I call her Reba McEntire) and it's annoying as hell. Hire a Midwestern woman that fans can relate to better. I had to shut the sound off or watch the opposing broadcast.

So it was Leah Hextall doing play by play (awful) and Cassie Campbell-Pascall doing the color (she's very good). Try switching their roles and the game likely is more enjoyable to listen to
Leah Hextall = Colby Cohen

Panthers getting their asses kicked by Dallas. 4 goals in the 1st period on 12 shots against Bobrovsky, no Barkov due to illness, and because Zito mismanaged the cap, they're playing a man short.
Bobrovsky is a $10 million dollar albatross

This should be a fun match up to watch this afternoon on NHL Network. Flames vs Panthers. Huberdeau and Weegar return vs Tkachuk.
I'd expect a great reception for Huberdeau and Weegar. Guessing when they play in Calgary, Tkachuk won't be well received.

Not sure I've ever seen this in a game before. Forsling gets a penalty for playing with a broken stick. Then in the 3rd, a Kraken player gets called for the same thing.
Can't say I've ever seen it once, but definitely never twice in the same game

I'm not convinced Maurice is that good a coach. Take a look at Winnioeg in their first full year without him, and the Panthers with him. Also the loss of guys like Marchment and Weegar in particular have weakened their depth. The Stall Brothers in their mid to upper 30's don't make up for the others. Even Acciari brought a toughness the 3rd and 4th lines don't have. And Bobrovsky has been dreadful. I honestly would not be surprised if they miss the playoffs

Both Flames and Panthers with 34 points - ranked 19th and 20th in the league. So both have given up ground (so far) this season and in fact a lot of ground to the point where they have some work to do to make the playoffs. It’s still early but haven’t seen either team really catch fire yet.

For some reason, I can’t pin point why. But Tkachuk seems like something me who just doesn’t win. I won’t call him a loser, but he just doesn’t win. Sure his team was good last year. But in the playoffs the last few goals scored on them Tkachuk and Goudreau looked like they wanted the season to end. I believe them both to be just “hockey players” for a living. They don’t seem like they want “it”. Now Florida is dealing with that. How Tkachuk seems to take nights off. Sure he’s skilled and will score two goals, then he takes a couple nights off and gets another 2 points. And that carries into the playoffs. Florida lost their heart and soul. They have holes to fill and have absolutely no way to fill them. No first rounder for a couple years. No pipeline left. Keeping Hooby and Weegsy for this year would a been smart. Even if they lose the both to free agency. At least they’ll have cap space to help round out the roster. And have a first rounder. But I still believe they should have gone with the same group for this year. That trade will crush that team!!!

He has 1 goalie making $10 million, which he inherited. But then he signs Knight to a huge contract as well. Maybe his hope was he'd be able to trade Bobrovsky, but who's going to want him the way he's played this year? He lost a ton of character players like Acciari, Marchment, Weegar, and Huberdeau and brought in much less impactful players like the Stall Brothers, Cousins. They've played 5 or 6 games with 19 dressed due to their cap issues (Yandle contract killing them) and constant injuries to Barkov, Ekblad, Lundell doesn't allow for any sort of continuity. And Maurice doesn't seem to be working out. He's trying to get a team built on offense to play a defensive minded game and it's not working. And with Duclair getting close to returning, Zito is going to have to find the cap space, and Maurice is going to need to figure out lines that will be effective. I will not be shocked if the Panthers miss the playoffs.

I will not be shocked if the Panthers miss the playoffs. The only mistake Zito made in signing Knight for 4.5M was not going max term but I bet he woulda wanted more in that case the 21yro is gonna be a hell of a GT and Bob can be reasonably bought-out after this year if he's un-tradable.....his deal was front loaded. As far as the Huberdeau/Tkachuk trade........he panicked! There's just no way that team could afford including Weegar.....and a 1st? The Q debacle was a massive setback for that organization too! A down year and a PO miss wouldn't be the worst thing in the world IF they had their 1st in this year's deep draft, but they traded it away conditionally for Chabot as a two month rental. I like the big, tough D-man but that's a HUGE outlay for a #3-4 D-man you have zero ability to re-sign,and the conditional part? The 1st was for 22 but it was top 10 protected and and therefore becomes a 1st this year......YIKES! Yandel and Darling's 6.5M in dead cap becomes 1.2M next year and that'll help but how in the hell can they bring Duclair back as you said for his 3M,not to mention the much needed Hornqvist and his 5.3M.

Barkov comes back after missing the last 3 games with a bang.....a hat trick within the first 15 minutes of the 1st period (a Florida Panther record), along with 2 assists for a 5 point night in the Panthers 7 - 2 pounding of the Canadiens. Now, the team just needs to come out and play like this more often. Not to say they'll score 7, but they certainly looked engaged more last night then they have for quite some time.

Canes are red hot with a 10 game winning streak, Panthers continue to struggle to find any consistency.

Panthers season seems to be eerily similar to when they won their division then fired Tallon and Gallant and took major steps in the wrong direction. This time they get rid of Tallon and Q and now they're just a bad team with cap problems

The Canes just don’t have that star power to get over the hump. They remind me of the good Nashville teams. They’re more like pests. They always hang around, never get blown out and they usually upset a good team. But that’s it. They’ll be the regular season champions too!!!

There's no debating the importance of top-pair-men to a successful team but the Preds have been the anti-Oliers......they've been 'lousey' with top-pair D-men taken high in the draft for over a decade with little to show for it,world-class goal tending too. Weber 2nd round,Suter 1st round,Ellis 1st round,Jusi 2dn round,Jones 1st round and Subban 2nd round were all #1's and either Norris winners or contenders and Ekholm 4th round and Hamhius 1st round were both top-pair D-men themselves most of the time. Can't forsake parts of the roster and overload other parts of the roster, every one of those Preds' D-men taken high in the draft were absolutely 'as advertised',outstanding players and they too would add those scorers later. Later never came and the Preds are still waiting.

Similar again in 2015, but they were slight favorites with home ice and Kane coming off the collarbone injury. In 2017 when on the last day of regular season they fell to the 8th seed and swept us. I know that team was tired and getting a little older, but who knows if they face someone else than the Preds in first round (who were fighting to get in the playoffs, and we coasted in). Playoff hockey is completely different, you get on a roll, some confidence and a few breaks along with solid goaltending. Sure, the Pres went to the SC finals in 2017, but who knows maybe they face another team, and the match up was not as favorable.

Panthers have players dropping like flies. Lost Knight although he played an AHL game tonight, Bobrovsky and Stall last game. And so far tonight thru 2 have lost Ekblad, Forsling, and Bennett. Haven't heard if any of the 3 will return for the 3rd.

figured I would ask this question here going to the game in March anyone know any good pregame places to go? So I heard from my buddy, and this was his comment:
I believe we ate at Quarterdeck at Sawgrass / Plantation. There were a lot of Hawks fans there
I thought he might have other suggestions because he told me when I moved to Florida he's come to see many games in Sunrise. Sounds like he may not have gone out before or after games too much.
Hope this helps a bit!
