before their 5-3 win last game, hogs' last regulation win was last year...new year's eve to be precise. i knew it was a while ago but didn't think it was that long ago. hawks/stars and hogs/stars tonight. hopefully we get a split. You got your split... Wasn't quite what i had in mind... : )

Wasn’t there an enforcer named Parrott in the league a while back? Parrot played for my Spitfires last year. He’s tough and plays a good defensive game. He has a bit of a scoring touch too. I remember him taking on Arber Xhekaj last year in the OHL finals. He gave up a solid 3-4” too. Wifi got the win. But it wasn’t a bad loss. They’ve fought a few times. Anyways. I’m happy to see Parrot get a shot in the AHL. Good kid too!!!

What’s Zaitsev’s timetable? The Hogs need to win as well. Unless other moves are afoot, why not send either Mitchell or Philips back for a bit?

What’s Zaitsev’s timetable? good question. i didn't exactly tear the www apart but i can't find anything about him joining the team which is strange. he last played on feb. 20th so i don't think he's hurt.

What’s Zaitsev’s timetable? hot off the press. if you click on it you will find this nugget. Zaitsev was acquired from Ottawa on Wednesday and now his Blackhawks debut will be delayed. It's unclear why he has the non-roster designation but it could be due to a visa issue. He'll be out indefinitely until an update is available.

I saw with the depleted roster that Vlasic and Crevier seemed to be the top pair, with Vlasic wearing the “A”. That’s a few yards of defencemen to get through when those two play together.

Impressive win considering three of their top five scorers aren’t currently on the team, plus losing another two defencemen when Philips, their best, is also with the Hawks. This does give players like Vlasic and Crevier bigger minutes and also gives some of those fading prospects a chance to salvage their seasons to help get the Hogs into the playoffs.

The D looks bad, especially the 2nd pair, really small. And poor Reichel stuck with a struggling Teply and a bottom 6 forward.

Well that was an awful game to go to. Iowa also had a goal waived off that should have counted. They just are not very good, missing there top 3 forwards but also the youngest one of the group is 23 so its not like they are prospects. Wells looked good easily could have been 5-0. Hardman with bad turnover that led to a goal. Even with everyone back wont go very far in playoffs. Oh well Steel game next weekend.

You know it's been a bad night for the offense when your shots on goal for every period were in single digits, and of your total shots on goal, close to half of them came from only two players, and one of those two players is only on the team because of injuries.
At least Wells had a good game.

It sounds like Zaitsev needs a P-1 nonimmigrant visa - these are employer specific so it requires approval of paperwork by the Dept Homeland Security. Assuming the team has paid extra $ for premium processing, the DHS only commits to reviewing the matter within 15 calendar days. I would guess that the roster issue is tied directly to what must be a pending P-1 application and he can’t be “on” the team until DHS approves the visa papers. Educated guess.

Icehogs traded Clendening for 26yr old winger Zach Jordan. 6'3" 220+lbs righty. Never drafted and toiled away in the AHL and ECHL.

I didn’t have to watch the games to see how poorly he played. Every time they changed his partner that fellow’s +/- would plummet. Time for the Hogs to go young. But considering how Rockford has been stripped lately are they basically giving up on their own playoff run?

With some recent additions by Rockford, and all of these trade deadline deals that had minor leaguers involved, for Rockford it makes me think of the old saying "You can't tell the players without a program."
The IceHogs and Marlies dropped the puck in Toronto this morning at 11:00 AM. EST. I think Koletrane has scored one of the IceHog goals.

Clendening an early 2nd round pick that the former GM said we were happy to get him where we got him, Righthanded D who will quarterback the power play. Just goes to show how inexact science the draft is and importance of scouting and development.

Clendening an early 2nd round pick that the former GM said we were happy to get him where we got him, Righthanded D who will quarterback the power play. Just goes to show how inexact science the draft is and importance of scouting and development. He was pretty highly touted for that draft, many glowing revues, but I think this one was the most accurate and probably the reason he couldn’t stick. Red Line Report: “Plays with an abundance of confidence, using his superb stickhandling and passing to start the transition game. Offensively very smart and gifted—has a great snap shot and deft passing skills. One of the best power play quarterbacks in the entire draft. His vision from the point is great, and he uses a low shot/slap pass for tips while patiently walking the blue line laterally to create lanes. Defensively he was a mess most of the year. Rampant turnovers and a lack of defensive zone awareness are problems—he is way too casual in his puckhandling around the net and allows opposing forwards to camp out around the crease. Does play with a bit of whippy, hard edge, though, and is nasty with the stick.”

Outshot badly, Reichel was pointless and a -4. At least with this depleted lineup Vlasic looks to be the #1 guy, playing in all situations. And Crevier is his partner so that’s good too.
