With some recent additions by Rockford, and all of these trade deadline deals that had minor leaguers involved, for Rockford it makes me think of the old saying "You can't tell the players without a program." The IceHogs and Marlies dropped the puck in Toronto this morning at 11:00 AM. EST. I think Koletrane has scored one of the IceHog goals. Yeah, see they lost 5-3. Lots of names I don’t recognize. Outshot badly, Reichel was pointless and a -4. At least with this depleted lineup Vlasic looks to be the #1 guy, playing in all situations. And Crevier is his partner so that’s good too. I know it's a young player's responsibility to keep the right attitude and his alone, but Reichel hasn't really looked like the same player since his last demotion. His play also sems to decline with every call-up that isn't him. I can understand wanting him kept away from the recent distractions but with the exception of 4 games,he's been kept away all year. He's expressed his readiness to play in the NHL,he had a good AHL season last year,he was promised it and he has a right to feel he earned it after his last call-up too IMO. It also might be frustrating watching JR teammates Seider and Stutzle tearin' it up at their tender ages w/o the opportunity to do the same. It will probably mean nothing come training camp but young guys can over-ripen too,one more reported bad attitude out of Rockford will be a disturbing trend for me. How many young D-men the last few years saw veteran after veteran added directly on the heels of an announced youth movement...........our young guys still see a lot of veterans. Does the more demanding HC have the tolerance for a team-full of young players soon? Beaudin never got a sniff on a tanking team, was one of the earliest cuts in camp, then traded for an ECHL forward no longer in the system. Reichel,Vlasic and Regula all found themselves back in Rockford after seeing some games the year before and Mitchell and Phillips both sit more often than they play.........and both need to play. I understand the 'warm bodies' aspect of a rebuild but these bodies won't be warm forever.

It’s almost like the father died and the new stepdad hates the kids and cuts them from the will while the new stepbrothers will inherit the farm, so to speak.

Clendening an early 2nd round pick that the former GM said we were happy to get him where we got him, Righthanded D who will quarterback the power play. Just goes to show how inexact science the draft is and importance of scouting and development. He was pretty highly touted for that draft, many glowing revues, but I think this one was the most accurate and probably the reason he couldn’t stick. Red Line Report: “Plays with an abundance of confidence, using his superb stickhandling and passing to start the transition game. Offensively very smart and gifted—has a great snap shot and deft passing skills. One of the best power play quarterbacks in the entire draft. His vision from the point is great, and he uses a low shot/slap pass for tips while patiently walking the blue line laterally to create lanes. Defensively he was a mess most of the year. Rampant turnovers and a lack of defensive zone awareness are problems—he is way too casual in his puckhandling around the net and allows opposing forwards to camp out around the crease. Does play with a bit of whippy, hard edge, though, and is nasty with the stick.” Thanks for posting the report. I remember when he was drafted, and the core was all here and trying to win more cups and thought if we can get his D game turnaround just to be average his offensive and power play prowess would fit nicely with the team.

Yeah it’s time for Reichel to come up for good. They sent him down to be part of a playoff run, and you want him up to play on a team hoping for the #1 pick. That makes no sense.

I guess you’re right that it would not be good timing given the approach of the playoffs . Just think maybe his development could be stagnating in Rockford at this point.

The sad part is that almost his entire supporting group is in Chicago, that is one weak lineup they’re icing. It has to be discouraging. Chicago needs some players to come off the injury list so Seney, Gust and Guttman can go back, maybe Philips or Mitchell as well if Zaitsev ever shows up.

Lookin' at the box scores our guy gt posts, the kid rarely makes the score sheet anymore and he's also rarely a (+) player.........-4 tonight with 1 SOG. If the tank is on again next year as many suggest, will all the kids have to be sheltered for another year? What's up with Zaitsev anyway,Ekholm was traded from Nashville/USA to Edmonton/Canada this morning, caught a fight, cleared customs and played in Edmonton tonight. Haven't other players gone the other way,Canada-USA without issue this week? It will be good to get him though, with him and the addition of 27yro Englund,we can ice six vets on D again.......I was worried there for a while!LOL! Next year too if we're tanking?

2 games in a row now they haven't cracked double digits SOG in a period?
Something is not working down there.

2 games in a row now they haven't cracked double digits SOG in a period? Something is not working down there. I’m assuming that since the Hawks are playing a bunch of marginal NHL’ers and AHL players that Rockford is forced to play a bunch of ECHL quality players. Just when they’re supposed to be ramping up for their own playoff run they are now handicapped themselves by the recent moves by the parent club. I don’t know how serious some of the injuries are to Entwhistle, R. Johnson or Blackwell but even getting a couple of those guys back sends two quality forwards back to the Hogs.

Reichel was called up, I guess they don't care how Rockford does. I see Seney was listed with an illness, Kurashev missed a game, the whole team looked flat last game. I suspect there is something running through the team right now. But we’ll see who gets sent down after. Should really be one or both of Seney and Gust. I’m liking Guttman right now.
