Those were nice goals by Reichel and Phillips. I know Phillips has scored a few similar goals earlier in the season.
A little sidenote: on the very first goal highlight in the video, the assist went to Amadeus Lombardi. He was one of Gavin Hayes teammates at Flint; I recognized his name from watching Hayes' goal highlights over the season. He and Hayes were Flint's two big goal scorers; Lombardi had 47 with Hayes getting 41. Although the Blackhawks took Gavin a round earlier than where the Red Wings took Lombardi; Hayes went 66th and Lombardi went 113th.

Rockford is now in the 4th playoff spot. Rockford is 4th, with 77 pts. Iowa is 5th, with 76 pts. Chicago is 6th, with 74 pts. All three teams have two games left. Next weekend would be the perfect time for an IceHog two game win streak. 4th is huge I believe they play a 3 game series with all games at the 4th place barn.

Hogs changing up the forward lines,
Grimaldi-Reichel-Anderson Seney-Philp-Gust Teply-Busdeker-Robinson Hardman-Hayworth-Jordan
This is the first time the Hogs had 4 players with 50pts, Reichel is 2 away from making it 5.

Halfway through the game Reichel scored his 2nd goal of the night to make it 2-1.
He now has 20g-30a and he adds to the franchise record books becoming the 5th player with 50pts in the same season. Grimaldi and Anderson assisted on both goals.

Iowa lost 2-1 in OT to the 1st place Stars. Chicago won 4-1 over the last place Griffins.
That really tightened things up. Iowa and Rockford are now tied for fourth with 77 pts. Chicago is in 6th, but they have 76 pts.
Rockford needs to take the easiest path and win tonight; then they're in. It's the same for Iowa.

Here's a bet that's sure to win money; Grimaldi, Reichel and Anderson will be together again tonight. I'm not sure what happened on the third Moose goal. Was Soderblom screened?

Outshot 28-16, yet they won 4-1. Soderblom with a big game, especially considering he played in 3 straight days. Andersons 3a in 2gms in Rockford got him to 30pts in the AHL this season, 14g-16a in 32gms.

Soderblom with a big game, especially considering he played in 3 straight days. makes me nervous running with just 1 goalie like that. he looked good with the hawks, but stauber's ahl numbers not that great (3.32, .894 in 17 games). hopefully we've got a goalie ready to step in if soderblom stumbles, 'cause our offense sure doesn't look like it will take us far.

I'll add to OTH's post.
Iowa has home ice advantage. The first game is at Rockford. The second game is Friday, April 21, at Iowa. The third game, if necessary, is Sunday, April 23, at Iowa.
It's a good thing Rockford won last night; both Iowa and Chicago won their games. Don't leave it in the hands of tiebreakers.

Khubodin has played 24 games with the Texas Stars this season. Compared to Stauber, Anton has a 2.89 GAA to Stauber's 3.32; and a .899 SP to JS's .894. Khubodin also has a big edge in age. Stauber last played on April 1, but my guess would be Stauber would be the backup since he's been shown as the backup G on the game reports, even though Khubodin has been with the Hogs for over a month. I thought the only reason the Hawks took Khubodin was to help the Stars make the Domi trade and get their 2nd rd. pick in two years.

Anyone know what the tie breaker was for the Wild and Hogs? Both played 72gms, both finished with 79pts and a .549 win percentage, and the Hogs has 1 more regulation win. I'm assuming it's because the Wild won the season series, 5-2-3-2.

I'm assuming it's because the Wild won the season series, 2-1-1. From what I read yesterday, the first tiebreaker was number of wins head to head, excluding OT and SO wins. The second tiebreaker was wins head to head, including OT, but still excluding SO's. The third tiebreaker was wins head to head, regardless whether regulation, OT or SO. Does this fit Iowa getting the tiebreaker? I forget the fourth tiebreaker but I think it goes beyond head to head.

In a three game series all games are important; and it's good to see Iowa is now behind the eight ball. Grimaldi's OT winner comes about 3:22. Right after he scored, the commentator called him "The Grim Reaper of the Central Division." The IceHog's first goal was a nice shot by Gust.

This season 9 of the 14 times Rockford played the Wild it went to OT. Grimaldi factored in on the last 2.
Nice to see Vlasic get 2 assists and Phillips score the first goal. And Teply with 1g-1a, good game to step up, very slow start to the season but he was getting points more consistently down the stretch.
KD did a good job getting guys like Gust, won the Calder last season and scoring in both games. Seney and Philp are other good finds. Picking up Grimaldi and Anderson might help the Hogs get past the 2nd round.

This morning, in any Rockford restaurant that serves breakfast, I think bacon and sausage should be on the house.
Gust had a good goal; he did all the work and took it to the net. His goal is one you need to see from the start, which is about 1:31.
