Shane Pinto resumed skating today after missing the last five games and the Sens have done okay with him out of the lineup, only a point out of a spot with two games in hand and the best goal diff in the EC. Stutzle's off to a 6gl/16pt start through 11gms,Josh Norris has 4/8 through 11gms but he's winning over 55% of his draws and averaging a healthy 18:50 of TOI and last year's young 3LC Grieg has been skating top-line wing because 21yro 6'4" 212lb Ostopchuk has played an acceptable and rugged 3LC himself. When you consider the amount of FO's 'wings' Giroux and Brady take, you realize the team is overloaded at the sought after center position......by a LOT. Davidson should go after Ostapchuck if they're asking too much for Pinto. 57 goals his last 2 season in the WHL, he was the captain in Vancouver, and 17 goals his first year in the AHL last season. He was named assistant captain to the baby Sens this season and had 1g-4a in 6gms before being called up. He's a big, tough bastrard too and very possibly hasn't even fully grown into big frame yet,he ain't 22 till next June! Stutzle's a 22yro stallion and wrapped-up,Norris is a big stud center if he stay's healthy @25 and he's wrapped too, both for a LONG time. Pinto signed reasonably this summer after taking the league minimum scraps Ottawa had left when he returned from suspension the year before, seeing 3LC minutes for the foreseeable future and little to no PP time can't be acceptable to him and his camp for long. Ridly Grieg filled-in @3lc admirably in Pinto's absence last year @21 with 13/26 44% and a +10 in his first full(72gm)season and he's skating' wing.......with Pinto OUT of the lineup. Big Brady and Giroux might actually be two true centers on that team, Batherson is their only true top-six wing......that's for sure. The number of quality, young centers that team's sittin' on with the demand around the league suggests they might not know the riches their treadin' on....... www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9E-01dK5zQ

watching the sens/rags game. they mentioned former hawks' great adam gaudette's last nhl goal before this season was february 13th, 2022. now he's got 5 in his last 4 games. averaging 11+ minutes a game during his 4 game run. sens got shesterkinned...outshot the rags 41-18 at MSG, lose 2 to 1. Watch that game also now they are getting beat by Buffalo. This is what scares me about our rebuild that is a very good team on paper and they dont do shit. I dont know if we will ever have a forward group like theres. Its a crazy game

Its a crazy game we'll see. i worry about a lot of things but i'll wait a couple or 3 years on that one. i do know what you're saying though. but keep in mind...it's not often a team can shut down gaudette. : )

I dont know if we will ever have a forward group like theres. Its a crazy game On one hand, other rebuilds have no baring on the quality, development and progress of the kids in our system.......only management does. On the other hand, seeing other rebuilds draft well, have many of those picks work-out and still see little progress is concerning. The Sens,Sabres and Wings are all rebuilding teams at much later stages of their rebuilds than we are and all have drafted pretty well and have some young, improtant pieces because of it. Have these teams supported their important young players with the proper additions? just can't do it all through the draft any longer. Have these teams constructed well balanced rosters? Have they had the right HC? The one thing I do notice,is none of these team have ever had that stud goaltender to help a young team through the rough patches.....when these teams struggle.....they really struggle. These are examples a young FO should be able to learn from IMO.
