Yes it is. He’d be a solid guy to have around an org. I love stories like his. No one wanted him. He was put on waivers and it fuelled him to be great. I would bet that he will be a good executive in hockey!!! Very cool! Not to mention the famous puck hitting the "fan" incident.
kudos to 5'9" sully for having the gonads to "lose it" on pat quinn. : )

likely well before most people's time here, but eddie "the entertainer" shack is dead at 83. i just remembered he was always fun to watch. not known as a goal scorer so much, but he managed at least 22 goals with 5 different teams. (toronto, boston, l.a., buffalo and pittsburg) And he went through life basically illiterate. Something he regretted a lot. A character like him would probably be driven from the league now, not sure they like their product so colourful.

I came across an article about the Chicago rabbit in a November 1983 Goal magazine and did a search. Can't find the date but it did happen that a fan threw a rabbit on the Stadium ice.
Anybody have some time to read all this it is unreal how crowds behaved and the things they threw back in yesteryear. Go to puckstruck.com and things thrown on the ice. WOW just WOW

Apparently they let you bring a lot of stuff into the arenas way back when. One story I read was fans use to bring decks of playing cards and played cards between periods and before the games. If a bad call was made the ice was littered and would take like 5-10 minutes to clear especially when whiskey bottles were thrown and broke. I forgot the name of the player but one player picked up a deck of cards sat down at center ice and played solitaire while they cleaned the ice. Funny stories in there.

Lotta net to shoot back then, yet they didn’t allow many. Gotta love Frank McCool and good ole Harry Dick. Both were legendary in their time!!!

Lotta net to shoot back then, yet they didn’t allow many. so true. and they were a lot more fun to watch, so many different shapes, sizes and styles. i mean....you could take most any goalie from 40 years or more ago, slap them in identical equipment and masks and you'd still recognize 90% of them once you saw them in action. these days, i guess you still can to some extent but today's goalies are far more....idk..."generic" than goalies of the old days.

Absolutely, plus they’re lives were on line every time someone skated near them. Skates can cut whether they’re sharp or not. Especially when someone is buzzing around at those speeds. Like they say now, goalies are basically “shot blockers”. I still think they’re very athletic, no doubt there. But I feel the goalies back then had to be..... well, an actual goalie..... but with the threat of death around every corner!!!

Coulda signed Marcel Dione for the same money they paid Orr back in the summer of '76' but the brain trust thought Orr'd be the bigger draw......some things never change.

Bobby Orr being the great individual he is gave back a large amount of the money from that contract if I recall.....to an undeserving franchise!
