I still use that one when she gives me a hard time about anything age related...

Sounds like your special lady has a great sense of humor and attitude,AND the enthusiasm of youth. God Bless!

pretty sure maggie lost more than he won but he won this one without a doubt.
vadnais was no slouch, having had 102 career fights.

The thing about 'Maggie' was,he didn't pick his spots,or goad non-fighters,no wrapping a guy up or grabbing a pant-leg and dumping a guy when he was at a disadvantage like many so-called tough guys did. The tough SOB took on all comers and went toe-toe with all the game's best fighters,yeah.....he lost his share for these reasons but he never got cheated in a fight! I still remember the legendary 'knock down-drag outs' Maggie and Russell had with Schultz and Salesky of the Fliers back in the 70's,there was NO bullying Keith Magnuson! www.youtube.com/watch?v=ag0gHbhO-UI

f***ing tony amonte.
traded to chicago from the rangers with just 7 games left in the 93/94 season. the rags won the cup that year and poor old tony never got another sniff at a cup. i'd be dropping f-bombs too.

another trivia question i've borrowed from a friedman podcast from 4 days ago.
they were talking about current nhlers who had played for the most original 6 teams.
bertuzzi came up as playing for 4, but 1 current nhler has played for 5. any guesses?
i didn't get it but i should have. if you heard the same podcast and know the answer...please refrain.

anyone have any idea what gordie howe and cutter gauthier have in commom? a big thanks to all who participated. : D both players are ambidextrous, although gordie would have definitely benefitted more using a flat blade. which makes me wonder...do any nhlers these days use a flat stick? a quick google search told me patrick kane and sidney crosby use nearly flat blades but doesn't sound like any use a completely flat one. For the most part, right-handed players shoot left and, likewise, most left-handed players shoot right as the player will often wield the stick one-handed. The dominant hand is typically placed on the top of the stick to allow for better stickhandling and control of the puck. Gordie Howe was one of few players capable of doing both, although this was at a time when the blade of the stick was not curved. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AmbidexterityGauthier’s unique ambidextrous skills translate to the ice as well, where he’s a proficient shooter with both left- and right-handed sticks. His left-handed shot is one of the biggest weapons in his arsenal, and a big reason many project him as a top-10 pick. Gauthier would never play competitive hockey right-handed, but he dominates the fun practice drills in which players trade sticks with a teammate to practice with their off-hand, and says he’d like to think he could get the job done if the equipment manager ever accidentally handed him the wrong stick.

In yesterday's game with the Kraken, the Seattle feed said the Bill Reay was the first player to raise his stick after scoring a goal. I believe in the 1950's.

Was it still 'King Arthur' or did 'Dollar Bill' already inherit the team by the time they slid a 'pink slip' under Reay's hotel room door on Christmiss Eve? As legend has it.
