A new team has now joined the Bedard Derby, The Sharks. And they'll really suck if they can move their top two scorers Carlsson and Meijer!!!

nice win by the jackets in o/t tonight.
sharks (72 games played) now in last place in points % at .368, columbus (71 games) at .373 and the hawks (71 games) at .380 are 3rd worst. duckies (72 games) at .389 hold the 4th worst spot.
next is montreal with a sparkling .431 record so it appears it's a 4 horse race as they round the final bend.
games remaining:
sharks: 5 home) jets, vegas, avs, avs, oilers. 5 away) flames, arizona, jets, flames, oilers 1 set of back to back games.
jackets: 5 home) florida, sens, rags, pens, sabres 6 away) mtl, rags, boston, leafs, nj, philly 3 sets of back to backs
hawks: 6 home) nucks, stars, blues, nj. minny, philly 5 away) minny, flames, nucks, kraken, pens 2 sets of back to backs
duckies: 6 home) blues, avs, oilers, avs, nucks, kings 4 away) kraken, oilers, flames, arizona 1 set of back to backs

regulation wins should also be noted as there's a pretty good chance there'll be a tie=breaker needed. not good news for hawks' fans.
duckies currently have 13 regulation wins.
sharks 14
columbus 15
hawks 16

They obviously have some talent, shouldn’t be behind Chicago, are they really even trying? Jackets have two near ppg players, and will have at least another three better than 40 or 50 point guys. All Chicago has left is Raddysh as top scorer who isn’t likely to hit 40.

The kid's still 22,now listed @6' 182lbs and would have benefited GREATLY from a year or two of solid AHL development but the kid saw 15 games in Rockford before being rushed into a league he wasn't ready for........@19!!!

And dumbass JC paired Boqvist with an aging Keith on the top2, definitely a recipe for disaster but both guys thought they knew what they were doing. So glad Stan and JC are gone.

small changes in points percentages but no changes in tank standings for the "big 4" as they all lose in regulation.
bit of a sidenote, i noticed a kid named nikita nesterenko playing for the duckies had scored his first nhl goal tonight.
his parents immigrated from russia in the '90s so i doubt he's related to eric nesterenko but nice to see that name resurrected at least. : )

The BJ's gave up five 5 on 5 goals in NY last night and only scored one of their own,yet Boqvist finished a -1 in 25+ minutes......5 more than any other BJ D-man. He's clearly earning the trust of his HC and his HC puts him in position to succeed,he plays nearly the entire PP seeing 5:50 of Clumbs' 6:30 minutes with the man-advantage. Zero TOI on the kill.......still earning trust @22.

The kid has the offensive talent and instincts, the D still needs work, but playing more hopefully will continue to improve and obviously needs to stay healthy. He can have a nice career, but it is up to him on how good it will be.

It seems some D-men don't put it all together till their mid 20's but that can test an Org's patience, would a guy like Forsling have put it all together sooner with more games early on? Carolina didn't dress him once after getting him from the Hawks before Fla picked him up on waivers,he's a 10gl plus,40pt plus minute-muncher now @26. Maurice is his 3rd HC in 3 years in Fla and he's gotten better every year there......he put it all together.

Ducks at Edmonton - hopefully Oil are lazy today. Jackets host Panthers who are fighting for playoff spot. Sharks at AZ - hopefully SJ gets at least a point.

Tie-Breaking Procedure
If two or more clubs are tied in points during the regular season, the standing of the clubs is determined in the following order:
1) The fewer number of games played (i.e., superior points percentage).
2) The greater number of games won, excluding games won in Overtime or by Shootout (i.e., "Regulation Wins"). This figure is reflected in the RW column.
3) The greater number of games won, excluding games won by Shootout. This figure is reflected in the ROW column.
4) The greater number of games won by the Club in any manner (i.e, "Total Wins"). This figure is reflected in the W column.
5) The greater number of points earned in games against each other among two or more tied clubs. For the purpose of determining standing for two or more Clubs that have not played an even number of games with one or more of the other tied Clubs, the first game played in the city that has the extra game (the "odd game") shall not be included. When more than two Clubs are tied, the percentage of available points earned in games among each other (and not including any "odd games") shall be used to determine standing.
6) The greater differential between goals for and against (including goals scored in Overtime or awarded for prevailing in Shootouts) for the entire regular season. This figure is reflected in the DIFF column.
7) The greater number of goals scored (including goals scored in Overtime or awarded for prevailing in Shootouts) for the entire regular season. This figure is reflected in the GF column.
NOTE: In standings a victory in a shootout counts as one goal for, while a shootout loss counts as one goal against.
hawks/jackets head to head...season series was tied 1-1-0. jacket's goal DIFF is currently -94. jackets 15 RW.
hawks/sharks...blackhawks won the season series 2 games to 1. sharks 15 RW.
hawks/duckies...season series was tied 1-1-1. duckie's goal DIFF is currently -115. duckies 13 RW.
blackhawk's goal DIFF currently -88. 16 RW.
