There’s a good interview with Ryan Smith and Elliot Friedman. You can find it on the 32 thoughts podcast!!! We should start our own podcast. That's a scary thought. I think it’d be great. I’d bet it would be much more funnier than we think. I know I don’t say many jokes on here. But that’s pretty much my life. I don’t think jokes come across very well on a message board. They’d be much better in person. Which would make the podcast much cooler!!! |

the utah organization has released 20 potential team names for fans to vote on. none of the names really jump out at me but imho, utah hockey club would be a grave error. leave that shit for the soccer pitch. "Utah’s NHL franchise will don jerseys that display UTAH during their inaugural season (2024-25).
Once the team name has been selected, SEG will work diligently to craft the team identity – logo, mascot, colors, and other branding elements – which will debut for the 2025-26 NHL season."

The only name I could half stomach off of that list is the Black Diamonds. I know it’s a ski slope and doesn’t have much to do with hockey. It just sounds cool.
All the other names sound like an expansion WNBA name. Like Venom? Blast? Powder? Is that a cocaine reference? They’re all dumb. All of them. Start over Smitty!!!

I feel stupid asking this, but what is "HC"?
It's funny, I was just thinking the other day if the Blackhawks completely changed their name to something different, what it would be. And it's extremely fucking hard to find, at least for me, so I do have some sympathy for the guy(s) trying to come up with a name here. It's hard enough to come up with a cool-sounding, non-WNBA, non-MLS, non-XFL sounding name for a cool city like Chicago, let alone fucking Utah, lol.
