He's in the 170s, so he's skinny, but he's 6'2". Considering he played with Misiak last season they saw enough of him and liked what they saw. |

I think it’s better for a goalie to be skinny. They usually are. I don’t know if I’d trust a tendy that’s 6’2” 256. Could they even slide to the other post before the end of the period?
Sometimes it’s pickups like this that pan out. The kid gets a second lease on his career and maybe doesn’t take it for granted. Or maybe he didn’t take it for granted and never got a real chance. Now he’s got one. Rockford should be a much better team over the next few seasons. So let him develop over the course of the next 3 years and maybe he gets that call up and never goes back!!!

I had hopes for him, but he posted something like the 4th worst save% in the league since the 2005 lockout (30+ games)...behind a D that Mr. Azek was able to at least be average. He was in WAY over his head. Neither the skaters not the management did him any favors, which is a point that needs to be made, but he was not good. |

I don’t know if I’d trust a tendy that’s 6’2” 256. alas, we'll never know. from 1917/18 until now, the heaviest goalie listed at 6'2" was a fellow named barry brust who tipped the scales at 225 lbs. just an 11 game nhl career, all in one year with the kings back in 06/07. not far behind him in weight was marty brodeur at 220 lbs. and idk what you call "skinny", but of the 115 goalies throughout history listed at 6'2", 50 were below 190 lbs. that's just over 43%. fook me...if i'm this bored today, what'll it be like in 12 weeks? |

Hell, I consider 6’2” 200 on the thin side. Look at Toews. He’s definitely not the Big Rig Maroon. Not saying it works for him. But Soderblom is 6’3” 180. That’s very skinny. Bob is 6’2” 188. Where Skinner is 6’4” and 230. Maybe if Skindog was 10-15 lbs less, he’d move a lot quicker. I think his weight is fine. But the skinnier dudes seem to do ok too. But I ain’t one to complain. I’m not as tall as Soderblom and have 30 lbs on him. So I guess my goalie days are far far in the rear view!!! |

I'm more excited to watch the Hogs this season then ever - especially with the way they played down the stretch last season. Adding a bunch of prospects to the team should provide some excitement. Drop the puck already.

Marcel² signed another 1yr deal with Rockford. A buddy of mine played in England with Ivan Ivan Ivan’s dad. He told me the story behind it. His dad Marek said that everyone always called him Ivan and never his name. So he’ll make sure his kid is called by his one and only name. I’m sure Marcelx2 has a similar story. But gotta think that the parents look quite lazy in the naming dept!!! |

I just think they’re preparing for EDM to make the Hawks. I wouldn’t doubt if they sign another dman to shore up the D in case of injury or Hawks injuries. I think the Hawks wanna start actually using their farm system for reasons it exists. It seems we’ll see some guys called up, and probably stick around. I’m sure trading one of the vet dmen is totally possible, especially Martinez with only one year on his deal. But we’ll see soon enough!!! |

I'm just going to throw this out here - there's a part of me that hopes KK plays in Rockford this season. I'm not hoping for that because I think he needs to play AHL for the betterment of his development and long term success as an NHL d-man since I think that's a rather dubious notion after he spent the entirety of last season playing in the NHL. My rationale for even contemplating that notion is that I think it would be intriguing to watch KK and Arty play together for the entire 2024/25 with the expectation of them graduating to the Hawks as a pairing for the 2025/26 season. Give them next season to meld and mesh with each other so when they come up together the following season they will be in sync with each other.
Kinda crazy - I know - but when looking ahead to the 2024/25 season there is limited number of things to be really excited about. Bedard - of course, but then what? I think there's more things to be excited about in Rockford than in Chicago, and having KK paired up with Arty would be at the top of that list.

I was reading a story and it mentioned that we could see up to 17-18 recent Hawks draftees at Rockford in the next couple of years and most of them could be playing together during the same season/time, which would be great to see and follow.
