Kor is up with the big club I think thats a done deal. I thought it would be between him and Kaiser but I haven’t seen a word on Kaiser since his “maintenance” day some time ago.

From Charlie over at NBC: "I expect both of them (Korchinski and Nazer) to start the season in the AHL, although Korchinski could be with the Blackhawks if they don't have enough healthy bodies. Wyatt Kaiser is currently banged up and has missed the last few days of practice."
Crevrier and Phillips are both now on their second contracts. Both signed identical one year two way contracts this offseason. Both would be of interest to many teams given their low cap hits ($750 K).
Kaiser has one year left on his entry level deal. I think he is not eligible for waivers. Neither is Korchinski, Allan and Del Mastro.
The issue here is how much ice time any of them would receive if all five veterans are healthy to start the season. My guess is - not much. If I am going to waste a prospect by sitting him for an extended period, my choice would be Crevrier followed by Phillips.

Interesting. I wonder why.
Both Crevrier and Phillips are on second contracts. Both were drafted the same year. Phillips did play pro a year early because of Covid. But Crevrier also signed a three year deal (November 2nd 2021) which has now expired.
Kaiser also was drafted that same year. But he is still on his first contract.
That website does say that Crevrier is waivers exempt, and it also has Cole Guttman (age 25) as waivers exempt which I don't understand either. If this information is correct, of course you send both players down for one more year. But Phillips needs to stay and has earned that chance.

Phillips has 53 career NHL games (spread over three seasons), and Crevrier has 24 (all last year). Does this matter? I don't know.

Interesting that Del Mastro was sent down but Allan is still up. I mentioned how Allan looks like he moved ahead of EDM and it seems like the coaches like what they're seeing.

I’m only a Swiftie in that I’ve read the book, but maybe Spellacy goes back to Windsor and centres their new Brobdingnagian 16 year old phenom Belchetz.

Belchetz is huge. 6’5” 225. I think he’ll be really good. Wait till next year. In his draft year he’ll be putting up ridiculous numbers. He’s just too big to handle.
I doubt he’ll keep up his current production of 8 points in 3 games. But even if he gets 25-30 goals and has 30-35 assists this year for 65-70 points. That would be a great stepping stone. And if he does keep up those numbers. He’s a gawd dam unicorn!!!

His last 3 seasons in Oakville he put up really good numbers, but yeah it's doubtful he'll maintain his pace this season, but he's still gonna have great numbers. Especially if he's paired with Spellacy, that's a huge line.

Shellacy more than likely moves with Greentree-Abraham at center. Wherever he plays. It’s a great problem to have!!!

Seney, Sanford, and Weeks were sent down to Rockford. I haven’t followed the Rockford situation that close. But I’d have to think there’s not much room down there for many more players? And I’d have to think they got at least a handful or more still coming!!!

For whatever reason, Nazar has looked meh. Not good at all. I think the farm would really help him. I get it, no one wants to go there. But it’s not a demotion, it’s just development time. I really hope none of these kids pout about being down there!!!

These kids should be busting their tails off like Spellacy, he knew he was going back to juniors, and he still is out there playing hard and giving effort, while learning and soaking in as much as possible. Not too much to ask from everyone.

But EDM was voted rookie of the year I believe he will have a letter unsure if Allen will.

I've only watched the two Kurvers games and heard the radio feeds of the preseason games, seems like Allan is playing better. And EDM was the Hogs rookie of the year but Allan was voted the best defenseman. Allen won't get a letter but Allan might 😁 unless he sticks in Chicago.

Not too much to ask from everyone. I would agree with you. That's an interesting comment and not really in a good way. This is just an uneducated guess, but could it be Nazar is finding, like so many kids do, that what skills he used in college won't always work at the NHL level. And in trying to adapt, he's thinking. And when he's thinking, he slows down. Maybe he just isn't maintaining his speed, even if unintentionally. I agree with Big T's point that going to the farm would help him. He can learn the pro game at Rockford and maybe when he comes up he'll be better prepared for what he'll experience on the ice. I've always thought the big majority of prospects need some farm time. I've heard of this happening sometimes with high school football players trying to play right off in college, especially with wide receivers. Things don't work as well and they start thinking too much which slows them down.

Aces, that very well could be. He’s been trying that desperate back pass a few times that never seems to work. Gotta get the “Jrs” outta him.
At this point I see no real reason to keep him up. He can play the pro game for 3-4 months. I’d even bet that his numbers will be meh for the first 10-15 games. Then all of the sudden. He just starts to get it.
One last thing. With regards to Nazar, he missed a couple years of development with Covid and his injury. So I don’t think he’s mentally seen enough come at him for him to be prepared for the National League!!!

To your point Aces he could be thinking too much, just not sure. Then again, the roster is pretty loaded with vets so not sure where he would play/fit, surely, he is not a 4th liner or a third line checker. Nothing wrong with development and seasoning. I am sure or I hope the Hawks are giving him feedback and encouragement.

The newest lead story on the Rockford website is "Crevier, Korchinski, and Nazar Assigned to Rockford." icehogs.com/Korchinskis two turnovers against Minnesota that resulted in goals against didn't help. It's nice though that management are doing what they say. No free rides and guys will have to earn a spot.
