So sad to see a young man go at that age. You can clearly see the total distraught in his friends faces. It’ll never be the same without him. He’s already missed.
Marriage, worse than taxes and death!!!

Congratulations to the Cat. Is that Boqvist with his arm around him?
And Toews looks ready to rock.

ha! well, just because he might not end up being worthy of an 8th overall doesn't mean he isn't a good guy...

ha! well, just because he might not end up being worthy of an 8th overall doesn't mean he isn't a good guy... For a minute I thought that was Nylander. Maybe we can send Nylander instead and say he’s Boqvist. Then turn Boqvist into a forwards and see if that works? Then trade Boqvist the forward for a massive haul s everyone thinks he’s Nylander!!!

But I’m gonna play it all the way to Calgary this week instead of listening to the wife nag about everything on the plane! Thanks Bob. Hahahaha!!!

Another list D-Cat should top but is somehow left off..... blackhawkup.com/2021/08/25/three-players-blackhawks-need-extend-now/3/Kid was on pace for a 50/88 full season while improving his all-around game enough to kill penalties along the way mostly w/o Kane 5 on 5.....WOW! I really think we'd see 50 from D-Cat and 100pts from Kane if the two were together(fill in the blank on center) but a season like that would put D-Cat in the top tier as far as salary and very expansive to re-sign so who knows. Could you imagine if Q woulda separated Kane and Panarin in a quest of more balanced scoring?

Hossa-Toews-Panik-Shaw Teuvo-Ladd-Bickell Hossa and Toews yes but Ladd was LONG gone before the Breadman got here and TT had a down year in '16',Shaw and Bickell gave ya mid-teens in goals and Panik had one good year......Kublik is much better. I believe most HC's woulda kept Kane and Panarin together because it's a no-brainer as was keeping the Kane/Toews and D-Cat/Strome combos together after all four put up career numbers two years ago. Let's just hope Harry Potter doesn't put the league's 3rd leading goal scorer back on a checking line next year, when D-Cat's career is said n done, people will ask WTF happened his 3rd year because it'll stick out like a sore thumb.

The 24yro is on pace for a 50 goal season and his thread has been quiet for five months. Five back for the 'Rocket Richard' trophy.....let's GO D-Cat or maybe a late 1st and a C prospect make more sense.

He has earned the right to $8.5mm per year and if it's not here, he will get it somewhere else.

So during the game yesterday, it was being reported that although not on the trading block, someone would have to come in with an offer they just couldn't refuse. So after getting 2 #1's for Hagel plus 2 players, what would kind of offer would it take to get Debrincat?

That's why it's better to trade him in the offseason, same as Kane, if they want to be in the top 10 with the firsts coming back. But the Rangers are willing to trade Lafreniere, I know they want Kane but I'd consider trading Debrincat for Lafreniere, 2 firsts, and a good prospect or young player.

The salary does not matter much with Debrincat.
It is the term and the NTC/NMC.
Do you sign this kind of player to a long term deal with a NMC?
I don't.
Winning organizations typically are not built around small, scoring wingers. These are support pieces (the easiest positions to fill in a core). Defence comes first. Centres second. Goalies and Power wingers third. Scoring wingers last.
The Hawks are a long way from contending. Similar to Hagel, Debrincat brings more value in the trade market than as a building block.

...Now if Dylan Strome's game continues to improve, I might change my mind about Debrincat.
Over the past three months, Strome has become a legit point a game player. Strome has always seen the ice well. His concentration has improved enormously, and he demonstrates consistent effort both offensively in front of the net and defensively. He also wins faceoffs.
If Strome can maintain his present confidence and start imposing his physicality (he is 6'3" and 200 plus pounds), perhaps the Hawks have some depth at centre. Dach is only 21, and he is an NHL second line centre moving forward.
If Strome re-signs to a fair deal this summer, perhaps it is best to keep his pal Debrincat as well. Both need to be realistic in their contract demands.
My hesitation with both is that they disappear against the big physical teams like St. Louis.

I don’t say this in shitty way. But I agree and I’d trade em all for the right price. I really would. Trading the legends or about to be legends on the Hawks isn’t easy. It sucks to see. It really does. But that’s the only way to get back the pieces required to move on. Hawks need some good D prospects in here. Or picks to get these guys. We don’t have the picks or prospects. If Kane, Toews and Dcat all can be dealt for amazing Hauls. I’d do it. LA has some good prospects. So does Anaheim, also Detroit will all be looking to upgrade their rosters this off-season. Dcat is a home town boy in Detroit. They’d love to have him and Larkin and Raymond on a line. All those teams have been stock piling for years. We need D prospects. Maybe Anaheim parts with Drysdale? Or Detroit with Edvinsson? Those are some top notch guys right there that’ll help a rebuild. Grab those guys like that plus 1st round picks and the team can be rebuilt in no time. Ya, I understand not every pick or prospect makes it. That’s why you need many of them. To make failing less likely. Lots of options. I’m hope they use them rather than go the nostalgia route!!!
