there must've been something about the craig powerplay that transcended borders because it was THE top car stereo. if you could hardly see out your back window through the rear view mirror because of a mass of speakers, you were one of the cool guys. all i had was the delco am radio in my dad's half ton. : ( Everyone had a Craig, including me. But the best were the guys whose lights dimmed because their alternator couldn’t keep up. I went from the Craig 8-track player to the Blaupunkt cassette player for my Triumph TR6

Never struck me as a winter car but I forgot you could get a removable hardtop, right? It usually sat in the garage on crates during the winter months. It was a nice day for a photo-op near the woods. Funny is I don't have very many photos of the car. I'm sure ex or old friends may have some but I didn't take many.

I love mine, drive it every sunny day with the top down, been years since I've had the hard top on I wish I still had mine. Sold it in 86' Loved the OD in 3rd and 4th gear. When I went to buy mine there were not to many color choices left since it was the last year made, 76'. They had the brown or Java green. I wanted the British Racing Green. No one had it in stock with the hard top and OD.

Sold it in 86' at first glance with the hard top on...it doesn't look all that sporty. BIG diff when the hard top's in the garage. my oldest brother had a red one but i was pretty young. all i remember was it was pretty tiny and it had a wood grain dash. couldn't even tell you what year it was. late 60's maybe?

i loved johnny cash and i liked bob dylan, but you put them together on a song, and you get in my opinion the worst duet in the history of song. i bought this album "nashville skyline" at a used record store in edmonton in the '80s. it was a fine record except for this abomination. you leave the 2 separate...it's a nice song. once they try to sing together it just goes to shit. i'm all for a duet sounding spontaneous but this is a bit beyond. this song had to have been done on the first take, and then one or the other said "fuggit....sounds good to me, let's go grab a beer".
another song that was like nails on a chalkboard to me was "abracdabra" by the steve miller band. why oh why did you put this on vinyl?
"abra-abra-cadabra....i want to reach out and grab ya". really??
come on man. i loved the SMB....but i coulda' wrote better lyrics to that song in grade 4.

a couple of the edmonton area lads might remember this guy if they're older fckers. i always missed him live mostly due to my schedule/bad luck/getting messed up somewhere else in the '80s.
he wasn't from alberta but i remember him playing a few times in edmonton which in itself is amazing because i don't really remember much from that era.

I remember him, always thought he looked like Rodney Dangerfields little brother took up guitar. Not so subtle imagery on this song. youtu.be/sw8S_Kv89IU

as a kid i remember watching this on sesame street, years before i had ever heard of grace slick. 1 Sesame Street and Woodstock in the same year. Think anyone else pulled that off? Can’t picture Country Joe being allowed to yell out his “F**k Cheer” on PBS but nowadays, maybe.

I do enjoy me some Tool. Seen em a few times. I’ve played guitar, drums, keyboards my whole life. I don’t get much time anymore with kids. But I will say that Tool has the best drummer in Danny Carey, not as good as Neil Peart, but they’re both so technically sound. Adam Jones guitar work is super simple, but with Chancellor’s bass lines and Maynards vocals that carry through the ages. It’s a winning combination. I love musically gifted people. I love Rush. I love a lot of other things that most wouldn’t due to their musical gifts. Thanks for posting, hadn’t heard that in quite some time!!!

in regard to your post about tool and Carey,, T, I've seen them a bunch of times. many times up front (I refuse to see them in a arena now with their ridiculous seats on the floor policy) and the last few times, I've literally posted up right in front of Carey and I end up watching him half the show (when I am not trying to stay upright, lol). dude absolutely CRUSHES it. there are some funny videos on youtube of drum instructors who are not familiar with them watching him play live. I'll see if I can find one.

I went with just the drum cam. the reaction videos are good, but just watching the man without the interruptions is better.
and this isn't even the best song for him to display his wares, imo...

I’ve listened to Tool pretty much since the beginning. I used to really love them. Back in the late 90s early 2000s. Eanima is probably my fave. Lateralus is close behind. Undertow is good. But it’s just so different from the band that they became. I like it but it’s like Pink Floyd before Obscured by clouds. Just weird yet interesting music.
Ten Thousand Days I used to listen to everyday when I’d swim. I listened to it for the whole summer and it pissed off a lot of people. I had a hard time getting into Fear Inoculum. So I listened to it tonight while swimming. Kids didn’t care for it, but fuck em, they don’t understand. Hahahaha.
As a musician myself, I tend to lean towards musicians and not fake soulless dribble for the weakest minds. I listen to a lot of Metal. A lot of black metal, death metal etc. The musicianship is unreal. One of my fave albums is Dimmu Borgir’s live album with the Oslo Orchestra called Forces of the northern night. Just a sick display of musicianship. There’s some serious drumming in that band. Behemoth has unreal drumming too. A fellow that went by the name “Hellhammer” played for both bands for a bit. And if you google “Hellhammer drummer”, you’ll see what I mean. He’s the fastest I’ve ever seen.
But thanks for posting, got me to listen to Tool for the last 2.5 hours!!!

they were very good friends from all I've read. the top video was 5 days after he passed... @ about 2:20 of the Peart video... and the strong gong strike at the end...
I wonder how times Carey had played that before....

I e been lucky to have seen rush half a dozen times. Back from the 90s on Test for Echo all the way till the end. R40 tour etc. Just amazing musicians they are. Losing Neal and even Eddie Van Halen in the same year crushed my spirit. Two of my hero’s growing up. But Rush never ever disappointed!!!

But thanks for posting, got me to listen to Tool for the last 2.5 hours!!! so then you are OGT? back from '92? 😜 yeah, I have been into them from Undertow on. they were actually the first concert I ever went to... gave Maynard the finger (for what reason, I have no idea) from the front row. he responded in kind, lol. that was back when the flashing lights didn't bother him (or, actually, before he realized the guy behind him was The Guy in his band) and he was out front and hadn't retreated to risers in the back of the stage... Lateralus and Aenima are 1A and 1B for me, with the latter being their breakout but the former being their opus. the last two albums just built upon the foundation Lateralus laid, imo. fantastic musicianship, but no new revelations (imo). but still good. just saw Crimson is heading out this summer with the Zappa band here stateside.... I mayyyy need to check that out once I head north...
