Kinda like when Homer rooked Burns out of the power plant. And Burns said “So..... I see the caterpillar has finally emerged from its cocoon. But as a Shark.... and with a gun for a mouth”!!! m.youtube.com/watch?v=nlqUK5PqVWkThis deserves 43 likes. I could see Stan screwing over McD in that way!!!

😅 man, SB and JC might need to have their lips surgically removed from Danny's ass..... no surprises here, though. it was reported when McD was fired that Danny has been groomed for the position for a while. hopefully they have enough sense to bring in a hockey guy as was for the hockeys ops side if things. also, pretty much sounds like SB has the green light to start tearing down the core, too.....

I don’t remember exactly what Stan said in the article but it was something along the lines of some type of major restructuring. So ya, it doesn’t sound to grand and more than like Stan wants a shot at building his own team from the ground up. Really though, who the hell besides Stan would say that he “has learnt a lot from Danny already”? Like Stan is a few years older, and has been in the industry much much longer. What the hell could he learn from Danny in 6 weeks? His age? His address? His bowel movement schedule?
To me this is the coup d’etat we all feared. It’s really starting to look like Stan got a new boss for himself that won’t fire him. If this ends up being the case, shame on the Wirtz clan again. Letting Stan dismantle this thing and rebuild is far too tricky for someone of his skill set. I’m sure picking at or near the top of the draft board isn’t that hard, but it’s all the perimeter guys he never gets that’ll crush him and the rebuild will take another generation. I’m quite sure Toews and Kane will refuse to go, and just walk away as UFAs.
Looks like we will have some sobering times ahead, i for one will stay and watch with a buzz!!!

They also both pointed out how fortunate they felt to be included in things or being a part of things? They're the GM and HC for fuck's sake! Raise your hand if you think there's any chance that Rocky's boy and Scotty's boy won't both immediately point their fingers in unison right at JC at the first sign of trouble with Crawford on the payroll. The relic otherwise known as Burry Smith is still on the payroll too with the title of director of player evaluation...….he the guy who evaluated the Joker? Cronyism is in the Wirtz DNA and always has been!

I think the Hawks, if they fail in this playoff thingy, will be selling off a lot of guys. So I think we may end up with a crack at a lot of guys in this years draft.
Stan said something a while back during his a hole licking of Danny. He said something along the lines of restructuring the lineup, or dismantling the lineup. I believe it was the latter. So it looks like the Hawks will be in a different mode one way or another. I’d just hope that the Hawks upper brass would shtcan the guy who caused this. It sounds like Stan gets another shot at ruining this further!!!

Because they aren't going to trade the farm and 1 year later say it didn't work and kick him to the curb. He's going to get to see this thru for the long haul. So he's either gone soon, or here for ever.
All I know is I can not stand how any of this has been handled since 2009/10 when Tallon was shown the door. It just keeps getting worse.

I think they give him till the end of his contract. His contract is up after next season. I doubt they tender him another. Usually they’re signed by now, not many teams let they’re guys go into the last year without a new deal. I think he gets the year and they go in a totally new direction of tearing it down and starting over. I think that’s why Danny was brought in, to usher in a new era. Sell the new kids in town. I don’t think Rockwell is going to be doing much for the team. I think it’s Danny’s team now. I’m not up to date with the Wirtz’s. Is Danny the eldest son? I only ask because Rocky said that when he took over, it’s in every Wirtz’s will that the eldest son takes over the team and the family business etc. So that’s why Rocky got the team over Peter who was much more hands on at the time!!!

Danny is the only son along with 2 daughters. I tried to locate ages but could not. Interestingly during my search in some areas it shows he only has 2 children, both daughters. So maybe Danny is the secret step child kept in the basement when company came over.

I can understand a GM and HC showing support for their acting team pres, especially considering his legacy status but recalling their quotes about "learning from him" and being so thrilled about "being included" were gratuitous to be polite. Is there a team in the league that doesn't include their GM and HC and what do they plan to learn from 'Prince Daniel'...…..the manufacture and distribution of wine and spirits?

What can Danny teach these guys? They’re not there to run a business, they’re there to run a hockey club. Something Danny doesn’t know much about. So for both their comments to be more on the side of salad tossing. That’s a “please don’t sht can me”. So I think this is the last of both of the two. Both their contracts run out after 20/21. I don’t see either of them having an extension ready. And I think McD wanted to re-sign Stan amongst other things. So I believe Rocky made the switch up above. Then he’s now letting Danny take the reigns and the President has to give out the new contracts. I don’t see Danny doing that. I think he wants his own guys. But we’ll see!!!

I hear that. The good news is that in hockey executives and coaches usually don’t go into their last year of a contract without a new one. I think Stan was given till the end of his deal to turn things around. It isn’t even close. So I think we may even see a move before the draft if the Hawks do end up playing this thing and get launched early. I would have to think there’s a contingency plan in place. If Stan is re-signed. We have major structural issues within the walls of the Hawks org!!!

Quite ironic that everyone around the guy who has failed keeping the team competitive and kept the team in cap hell since he took over, are losing their jobs or being demoted while he is the only one retaining his job.

He talks a lot about improving the team finances, expanding the fan base and inclusion.
“Embedded in that vision is a real focus around inclusion, growth, engaging new audiences, ensuring that our internal culture is an inclusive culture and — at the end of the day — [making sure] that we’re delivering elite hockey on a consistent basis, year after year."
But not much specifics about improving the team. This doesn't give me much hope:
"Wirtz offered “words for support” for Bowman and coach Jeremy Colliton, suggesting their positions are secure.
“Being here in Edmonton, I’ve had a chance to spend more time with Stan, [vice president] Al Mac-Isaac and Jeremy Colliton and just get a deeper understanding of the thinking around the hockey-operations system, the current state of our team and the direction we’re going,” he said. “And I’m quite encouraged and excited.”

well....he did admit the philosophy is "intentionally vague". if he is indeed the interim president (which i believe he most likely is), i wouldn't expect him to get into much specifics. and all the talk about stan, JC and macissac...it's all just fluff. it's what interim presidents say. : ) i hope he names a new guy soon for stability's sake.
