I honestly have no idea. He’s backed himself into a corner. I admit I’d like to see if subban can become the guy many thought he was when drafted but need a good veteran behind him to let that happen. No prospects are ready for a full time job behind this atrocious defense. Whole thing is a mess. If stan’s plan is to role with Delia and subban then might as well really go into that full rebuild mode now. Ask 2/19/88 to waive their NMCs and trade them for best offers. Cause with this defense and 2 young inexperienced netminders they’re going to give up 5-6 G Per game. Suban didn't get a qualifying offer. I missed that. Doesn't mean they can't re-sign him... they can't possibly go into the season with 2 rookies right??? One year after starting a season with $11 million committed to 2 goaltenders he can't possible go with 2 rookies, can he? |

The Hawks also did not qualify offer to Subban either. Looks like Delia and Lankinen will be the duo. He'll have to admit to a rebuild if we see these two in net,might as well blow it up shorty! I also say to bring up Carlsson and Gilbert, let them play and learn. Just not sure if the legend Brookbank is the right defensive coach for the young. |

Just not sure if the legend Brookbank is the right defensive coach for the young. Those two will be pissin' up a rope! Keith,de Haan,Murphy,Seabs and Boqvist leave room for one and Mitchell is all but guaranteed that spot with Beaudin close behind......Seeler's still signed but far too impolite to play for our HC! I'm not sure this staff is right for the young in genaral or D-Cat and Strome don't regress,Boqvist gets better as the year goes on,Nolander finds purpose and somebody teaches Dach to win a draw. EMBRACE LAST PLACE! |

EMBRACE LAST PLACE! To me Boqvist shouldn't be on the top line with Keith, neither are stay home D-men. Keith thrived when he had Seabs as his stay home guy. That gave Keith the room. Hammer was the stay home guy for Oduya. Mitchell still has 3 years on his ELC, Carlsson and Gilbert are in their final year, let them learn the hard way to play. With these new D-men they drafted, let them play in Rockford for a year or three. Just like Keith, Seabs, Hammer and Buff did before they were brought up. |

Isn’t that part of a GMs job? There were many ways this could have played out with Crawford leaving after the season. And if there was also no intention of signing Lehner long term then it only makes sense to let Delia be the primary backup There’s just like a dozen ways this could have played out better than it has. We are looking at the two goalies on the roster having a combined 18 games of NHL experience. |

Subban wasn't qualified because he has no leverage as an ufa. he can be signed cheaper this way than he would have been if he had been qualified. that being said, should he be signed, we likely have 3 goaltenders making a million or less next season..... |

as far as the goalie situation this past aeason vs the coming season:
I'd say the Grinch will be blamed for wanting to "go for it" again. thus the d-man signings along with Lehner. now that there is a new sheriff in town, Bowman will finally be allowed to do what he has probably wanted to do for a few years now, trade away all the core and build a team that he can claim is all his doing. he has clearly sold Danny and his dad that he knows what he is doing and that McCub was the problem.
now, he can clear space and play the kids and bring in higher draft picks for a couple years. the core will be given the choice to either stay and help the "new wave" learn and maybe win if they get lucky enough to get the right youngsters in or they can waive and will be sent packing.

I believe you’ve posted Nalimov’s numbers from the past couple years before. I also believe they were pretty good. I don’t know if he’s ready to be a starter in the NHL, but he can be a solid back up or even split the duties with a vet. I think that’s the best way to go. Nalimov is sposeda be a good tender, let’s see what he’s gots!!! |
