not disputing your point at all but i'd say it's not good when the goalie you pick to be our starter has the best shot just because he's the one you know least about. : ) Yeah...it's not good. Someone mentioned that Stan might be looking to catch lightning in a bottle with Subban, but the numbers don't mete this out. if we can get every game subban starts to a shootout, we'll be in good shape. he's 5-0 with a sparkling .947 save %, stopping 18 of 19 attempts in his career. leads the league (in s/o save %) since 2014/15 (with a minimum 5 games played). unless the 18 he "stopped" just missed the net. : )

And then Stan picks another Mark McNeill. Hey, at least McNeill was out in the middle of the 1st round. The one that really stings was Cam Barker at #3, followed closely by Jack Skille at #7. YEESH! Barker put up a 40pt season and Skille did skate in 368 NHL games...........368 more than McNeill I believe. Beach had to be DT's worst pick ever IMO.

But he didn’t have much between the ears. I can’t believe a guy like him would fall even further down the hole. I remember he and Aliu got into a fight at a team meeting or dinner. Both had their awful attitudes, and it’s too bad, cuz with their size they really could a helped the Hawks. Both actually had skill to go with their size. But McNeill for whatever reason was one of the worst Hawks picks in the last 20 years. But actually liked the pick, but the farm let us down again!!!

Rounding to .40, that means 2 goals every 5 games for all of them, or 8 goals every 5 games for the lot. Strome is scoring about 1 goal every 4 games for the 'hawks. That averages to about 5/20, which added to the high scorers is about 37 goals per 20 games. Ditto with Pirri: 42/20. Caggiula is about .21, so scoring about once every 5 game--so about 4 goals in 20. 46/20. Nylander is .15...so about 3 goals in 20 games: 49/20. Dach is .13: Rounding up 49/20. Bopqvist is .1 so about 2 goals every 20 games: 51/20. Seabook and Keith are .09: 55/20. Smith is .08: 57/20. Murphy is .06: 58/20. Ditto with Zaddy: 59/20. The bulk of our roster doesn't bring the average up to 60 goals in 20 games which is a 3GF/GP average--and that's assuming a perfect spread on the scoring rate. You as well as everyone knows there are going to be games where everything clicks and we blot the other team out of the water. We also know there are going to be games where the team couldn't score even if they walked into a Tijuana brothel with a $100 bill tied around their junk. In a vacuum the scoring rate for our players is not that bad. Contrast that with what the Team D has given up in chances vs. the SV% of the goalies? We ain't even treading water. I think even with our O playing to the averages (which might be abnormally high in some cases) it just won't be enough to keep us afloat over the team D and goalies. Even with guys like Toews, & Kane...we might be looking at the bottom 5...the team D and G are just that bad.

Nice math/detective work. ^^^ It doesn't paint a pretty picture though. Now I'm as mad as Chuck Norris watching The View.
How'd I do?
