i'm tired of seeing tweets like this and wondering "does this mean anything?" not that a person doesn't deserve his privacy but it's frustrating not knowing. Maybe those were the only dry pair handy at the moment till his dried.

I was wondering why he might be wearing Teows gloves, seemed odd, at first i was thinking for luck, but it didn't help him on scoring, but the drying part makes sense, Maybe

i would think jonny's gear would be packed up and separate from the rest but i hope the "dry glove" theory is correct. i'm likely making something out of nothing.

Bauer. So he has his own line of Sticks, Gloves, Skates and even has a set of kids starter equipment. That was my boys first equipment! But I’d think he just uses Bauer Toews gloves. They’re not actually Toews gloves he uses!!!

i did see quite a few random people on twitter kind've echo those ALS rumors but none of the posters that i could see that had any real standing other than just being average fans like myself.
so stan...you can bullshit me all you want but really i hope in this case you're not. fingers crossed.

I may not be a Stan Bowman hockey supporter. But I don’t believe he’d lie about something that serious. I can understand your concerns GT. But I just don’t think Stan would deny and lie. Let’s hope it is just the fog of an undetected concussion!!!

I don't think he'd lie about it either unless Toews specifically asked him to keep the heat off of it a while longer.
I still really really hope it isn't that.
If he has to retire from whatever it really is, while sad, so be it. Just not a life-threatening thing please.

If what you said is true about Toews, I could see him having depression or anxiety issues. Doesn’t mean he’s weak or anything, just goin through some shit. In my world, we drink it away and all is good. In others, not so much. Different strokes for different folks. It probably feels weird for a guy like him who’s basically on hero status to feel weak and powerless with stuff like that. Look how many of the fighters from the NHL we lost a while back due to concussion problems and other problems. Let’s hope Jonny gets the medical attention he needs and gets back to being Jonny!!!

Did Stan say something about Toews' condition? you've likely saw the tweet 4 posts up but here it is in a bit more detail. However, tonight (Thursday), Blackhawks general manager and president of hockey operations Stan Bowman downplayed the rumors that have begun to build, and all things considered, his comments should start to make you feel better (which is not to say everything is necessarily perfect): “It’s not like we have information that we’re not sharing. It’s a situation where it’s just the great unknown when he’ll be feeling ready to play hockey again”.
For now, this feels like a weight off the shoulders of Blackhawks fans to hear any sort of reassurance on Toews’ status – at least, in terms of the “scary rumors” swirling around various comments sections and message boards. According to Bowman, the 32-year-old Captain is working on his health and plans to return to the Blackhawks when he is feeling well enough to get back on the ice at the level he is accustomed to.
i think many here will sleep just a wee bit easier tonight. www.bleachernation.com/blackhawks/2021/01/28/bowman-the-scary-rumors-about-jonathan-toews-are-not-true/

No one should ever judge you for it.

But I agree, anyone with issues like that should seek proper help instead of suffering. I literally have had friends who have had problems and killed themselves. One of my best friends Dali killed himself after we watched the Hawks beat the Wild April 9 2014. I guess it was his way of saying bye. He left and that was the last time I ever seen him. Absolutely horrifying and terrible thing to go through. He was always a “mans man” and at the tender age of 29, decided he couldn’t stand it anymore and he did the unthinkable. He just would t seek help. He thought it was for losers. So I hope anyone with problems please get help. The help is out there!!!

April 9th sucks for me. A year later I had to put my best friend down on that day. He was 15, and just his time to go. But none the less. It was the same day a year later. Not many good memories of that 9th day of April!!!

I don’t think Stan would lie about anything like this. However, he may not know. And maybe it is something worse? Stan cannot be blamed for much, if he didn’t know. I’ll actually stick up for him on that front front. If someone asks him on January 15th if it’s true Toews has ALS. If he doesn’t know, he would say no he doesn’t. If Toews gets diagnosed with something like that on February 15. He didn’t know on January 15. So he’s not lying. I’m sure if there’s an announcement to be made, they’ll make it. My best guess is Toews has lingering affects of Covid mixed with a possible concussion. It could even be his testosterone levels aren’t where they’ve been in the past, it happens to all males at some point, some even take enhancements for it!!!

I agree with this, would never blame Stan or anyone else if they didn't speak the truth on this 100%. He may not know, he may have been told not to say a word. A person's medical record/situation is private and confidential and I believe it would be against laws to give out info. against said person's wishes.

Heyyyy, anything is on the table at this point!!! Including his privacy? Just like Merp said. There’s laws in place to protect people. Speaking of laws. Maybe I don’t understand this part of law that well but I’m guessing it’s probably the same across the board. My buddy works in Michigan and lives in Canada. In order for his visa to be renewed for a 3rd time, he has to get a green card and be a citizen. Now, he can live where ever he chooses, but he has to have his citizenship in order to keep working. Is this the same for an athlete on an entertainment visa? Toews home address is there and he has to apply for a visa every 3 years I believe. Maybe less for that visa as the entertainment industry shifts quite a bit, especially sports. Anyone know about this? I know it’s a bit off topic, but I’ve always wondered this. Kinda like how Beiber is still living legally in the USA and not really working!!!
