^^ hard to tell. is the system even relevant on 2 on 2 drills? If it’s supposed to be man to man doesn’t look like they all get it yet.

But for him to say Osipov has no business being here is way off, he's a great leader in Rockford who can actually play, plus he's a perfect 4th liner who used to be a stay at home dman. Hopefully he gets some minutes versus a dirty Blues team. He was right about Allan though, even if he does look good out there he needs to go back to the WHL and with the Hawks depth on D there's no need to rush him. Allan said he needs to work on his offensive game so why not against kids his age.

I was thinking the same thing about catching some Oil King games, especially against Kelowna, maybe we can get a beer 👍 Not a bad idea. I’ll be the guy wearing the mask. Hey me too lol I have 3 new ones coming in the mail, Hannibal Lecter, Jason, and Darth Vader 🤘 gotta wear a mask around the moist mouth breathers here lol Almost forgot Allan is another guy I wanna watch live, it's been a while since they had a few WHL prospects. I think the last time was when they had big Bondra and Dahlstrom, I think there was a third but it's not coming to me. Bondra had 26g-25a in 49gms last season in Slovakia, he's in his mid 20's, maybe bring him back next season if he has another great year. And what happened to Dahlstrom? Scored 30 goals as a rookie for the Tigers then decides to go back to Sweden and puts up weak numbers. Strange.

If he can get in a couple big hits and make some plays on defense, he might turn some heads. It's smart he switched to forward knowing the Hawks depth at D, he'll get more playing time as a bottom 6 forward.

I don't know. ESPN+ didn't carry the game so I wasn't able to watch it...much to my annoyance. Going off of what I could follow it seems like Toews had a great game, but so did Gaudette and Hagel. Meanwhile all indications were that Nylander seemed like he'd rather not be there and Lankinen might have kinks to work out. Without seeing the little things I can't say who was the best based on the eye-test. This wasn't meant to be a knock against Toews, but stating quality of opponent. Beating up on Detroit is one thing--going up against Colorado or Tampa is another. That applies to everyone including Toews. I'm sure we're both happy with how JC looked but I have a question for you as far as ESPN+. I attemtpted to watch Fla's PS game on ESPN+ last night and it told me I had to sign up 69.95 or 6.95 a month. Is ESPN+ going to be a paid streaming service and will I need it along with center ice this year? Fla shows eight games to be shown on ESPN + this year. I don't know about espn+ but I just got my Center ice bill from Dishnetwork and it's 1/3rd of what it has been the last 5 years. $60 instead of $150 that it has been. It also says "40 out of market games" What ever that means. Do they mean Hawk games? I got a feeling this espn and tnt thing is going to F-up center ice package.

Kinda surprised to see them play Toews back to back but it’s obvious Colliton is going to do everything he can to get Reichel a spot on the team so lining him up besides two of the best diggers on the team gives him a good showcase. And Strome gets the usual scrapings. But nice mix on the fourth line, wouldn’t it be great if the converted Osipov, who’s actually a pretty good skater, could make some noise? At least he’s one guy that knows what to do when it’s required. Toews is not a China doll and if he is not capable of playing two to three games a week the team and Toews need to know ASAP. It is not as if he is playing on two consecutive nights. Based solely on the play of Reichel what disqualifies him from playing with Toews. Strome is a known commodity and the best way to know Reichel is by seeing him play with the best to truly evaluate where he is at. When playing with Toews there is nowhere to hide your shortcomings as you are under a microscope. Strome had his time with Debrincat and Kane not what I would call scrapings. At this time Stan and JC expect Strome to be the driving force of his own line not hanging onto the coattails of his linemates.

He wore the “C” in the prospects game riding shotgun for Reichel, he’s a better skater than I would have imagined, hits a lot and has a nice heavy shot. Best part was tuning up the guy who welcomed Pour to the league. When was the last time we ever saw that?

It’s easy now to dump on Strome and the Hawks have obviously written him off but putting him at center with Reichel and Hagel tonight might not have been that bad an idea. Strome has his shortcomings, but when he’s on the right side of the red line there’s not many on the Hawks that see the ice as well as he does. He’s still talented enough to be an NHL player. I’d like to see what his commitment is like this year.

Reichel's potential IS that of a skilled player and a game with JT isn't out of order and as far as playing with the best to evaluate a player.....I'm sure Strome's thinking the same thing. My question is,why not let a potential 'skill' player play some 3rd line and work his way up........D-Cat's a proven elite player and he saw 3rd line minutes two years ago. It appears to me that JC is looking hard for someone to replace Kubalik on that line and I just don't get that. If Strome is what many say and he might be,then why extend him @3m.......that's a LOT of money for a floating 3LW.....ain't it? Why not trade a player the HC has such little use for, return or no return....for the cap space if nothing else. The Hawks will pay Strome and Connolly 6.5M this year but that only seemed to bother some when it was core players being overpaid for some reason. Skating wing with Carpenter and NOlander isn't scrapings.....it's worse. What it is,is an effort to force a square peg into a round hole.....much like JC himself.

Strome has been his own worse enemy at times and maybe too easily discouraged by the demotion the last two years after a bang-up 1st go round with a player who has always brought out the best in him. I still can't see him NOT getting the chance to reignite with D-Cat after a 3M re-do in what was called a rebuilding year. What in the hell did skating Carpenter at 2LC prove and how did it have anything to do with a rebuild? Maybe Strome deserves the demotion as many say but I'll continue to insist D-Cat skating 3rd line two years ago was a joke with NOlander getting a lot of top six time.....when he wasn't scratched......what did he earn? I don't have a problem with Reichel getting a shot with JT in the PS,we've seen countless young guys come in and get an immediate shot with JT like Kahun and Kubs,we saw Sukura get an extended shot.....what did he earn? If JC somehow finds a way to separate JT and Kubs this year,it'll be nothing more than more poor coaching unless there's orders from above then it's even worse IMO.

At least Reichel has the cred of being a Blackhawks first rounder, the rest were all dartboard shots which, with the exception of Kubalik, weren’t solutions. Somehow Kubalik remains under appreciated in the eyes of the staff, despite the fact he makes every line he plays with better. Somehow the player who has scored the third most goals on the team these last two years still isn’t seen as a truly viable top six option some games. As for Strome you are correct. Why overpay the man just to bury him in a spot where he’s bound to fail? Just to validate one’s expectations of him? To me this is a big year for Strome. He either gets it or doesn’t. I’d like to see in this preseason.

A bunch of help and thanks for it! My confusion mostly comes from the center ice channels still being on my comcast service and two of em WERE showing PS games the other night. I have to think only one subscription will be necessary to see out of market games or at least I hope that's the case. I hope so as well. On ESPN+ they had a few preseason games listed, but the Chicago one wasn't one of them. Looping back. Tonight's game *is* on ESPN+ I'll let you and everyone know my feelings about it. At least he’s one guy that knows what to do when it’s required. i'm even more surprised to see nylander back in but i guess both players have a lot of rust to shed.definitely going to keep my good eye on osipov and galvas as well, and line #1 of course. While it's well known I'm not high in Nylander, more games in the preseason for him is not a bad thing. If what I'm observing is true and Nylander has a motivation problem, the more games which he plays that don't matter, the more time to flesh out his ability to bring his best (or close to it) game-in/game-out. If he can't fight for a slot in the preseason and coasts, do we really want that mentality on the team? This applies across the board, though--with the questions we all have going into this season, the sooner we flesh them out, the better. It very well might simply because it seems like a lot of media is switching to digital streaming as opposed to cable/satellite. Honestly I kinda wish it would go that direction, but I also know that it's not necessarily a popular mindset. I think it would be nice to just pop into the ESPN app on a computer/cell/smart TV and voila--all your sports games are there. But I'm not so glib as to understand that some would think that suck and would prefer to just switch to channel 431 (or whatever). ESPN+ is advertising 1000+ out-of-market games, so I'm hoping it's just a new streaming service with the same amount of games as NHL.tv. I don't know about espn+ but I just got my Center ice bill from Dishnetwork and it's 1/3rd of what it has been the last 5 years. $60 instead of $150 that it has been. It also says "40 out of market games" What ever that means. Do they mean Hawk games? I got a feeling this espn and tnt thing is going to F-up center ice package. this wouldn't shock me either. Honestly, I'd recommend that if there are things you'd want to watch on Hulu ore Disney. Truth be told I'm not the biggest fan of The Evil Rodent Empire™, but it does have all of the Star Wars franchise, and movies like Miracle, but the driver for Disney+ was mainly my wife. I'm disappointed in Disney+ because they are conspicuously missing the best Disney Cartoon short of all time: Hockey Homicide. Hulu though has a ton of stuff and it also seems like Hulu is joined at the hip with ESPN and Disney--like I believe could jump into Hulu and pull in tonight's game as opposed to ESPN. The only downside is that for Hulu, TV shows might be delayed a day or two from the broadcast airing unless you get the LiveTV package--which is a 10x increase in cost. Again, I'll report my findings here

Doesn't matter which stream service you use, if the Hawks game is on it will be blocked in 100 mile radius of chicago. Telling you to go to your local broadcast station. In my case dishnetwork no longer carries the Hawks, Bulls, Sox or cubs since they all wanted more money for the right to show their games. This has been the last 2 years now. All the Hawk games I watch are through GT's stream links.

Edit: you can split with someone, and just use alone email and both know the password. I let my father in law use it. And the odd time when I’m at a buddies I’ll log in to watch a game for us. So you could get 2-3 people to split it and it basically costs nothing!!!

The team wants him to play this year. Most players would look good playing with Toews. Whether that’s good for team or player remains to be seen. I think they just want to evaluate 27 with some talent around him, again I would be shocked if he stays up. As far as Jonny this might be his last pre season game I doubt he travels to any. I hear ya on Strome, MVR is probs right they are trying to light a fire under him end of the day he has to show he can do the little things. Strome will never be the driving force of his own line and thats ok.

While I feel your pain, I'm not within even a 1000 mile radius of Chicago. But, I have done the Greymarket and Pirate streams before so if that's all you got, go for it. 1st observation: audio and video aren't synched. Pat & Eddie look like a bad martial arts flick. Vid quality is good for the Windows Hulu app.

I know it may not be for everyone. But NHL live is pretty sweet. I get every game and I get to watch every game they have on archive. The last 30 years of games if you wish. Here it’s 29$ per month. I’m sure in the good ol USA it’s probably 19$. But worth it to see any game you want all in 4K!!! Edit: you can split with someone, and just use alone email and both know the password. I let my father in law use it. And the odd time when I’m at a buddies I’ll log in to watch a game for us. So you could get 2-3 people to split it and it basically costs nothing!!! I had Center Ice from 2008 to 2012 then made the switch to NHL live in 2013 and had it till a couple years ago when Telus had a sweet offer on Center Ice, after that season I switched back. NHL Live is the way to go, glad they dropped gamecenter lol I agree. I’ve been a big fan of it. At first I thought it was just a money grab, and a lot of games would be blacked out. Some of the Leaves games are blacked out cuz Rogers has the rights to this area. Which is shitty cuz you’re paying for the whole package. But that doesn’t bother me cuz I also have Bell satellite with Rogers. Also I don’t really care that much about the leaves. So it’s cool to be able to see many out of market games. Sometimes I love watching LA vs Colorado on a weeknight. Or Florida vs Carolina on a weeknight. It’s cool to see all that. And you can rewatch any game at any time. Plus with the App, you get all the NHL news as it happens!!!
