So I assume that means Roumeliotis won't be on CHSN. I'm fine with that, I didn't hate him, but he was nothing special.

For the locals deal made with Direct TV gotta figure Xfinity gets done I have Comcast but I hate them, of course they're being pricks and not hatching out a deal. Par for the course with them. All they do now is take channels away and shit on their customers every chance they get.

I was watching South Park then. Ironically though, for no real reason, I kind of stopped watching it recently (the last season or two).

I know younger generations are cutting-the-cord and I have streaming services and smart TV's myself, but I'm just so used to cable TV and just the thought of pairing all my TV's and other devices with a new router and re-entering/changing all those passwords again gives me a brain hemorrhage. I'll assume center-ice and ESPN+ won't show local games and if Comcast doesn't pick-up the new channel for the extortion rates I pay......will I need an antennae?

I look forward to watching what should be an improved team but I will NOT jump through hoops to do so and I bet plenty of hawk fans feel the same way, I'm sure they'll get together at some point and they'll be plenty of other hockey to watch until they do. How greedy can these billionaire families be?

Then you have to scan your tv, and it'll show up with the local stations. I guess the silver lining is, if you don't live in the boonies, all you'll probably need is like a $15 flat antenna. I go back and forth on cutting or not. I do like On Demand and Comcast used to give a ton of free weeks where I would just catch up on everything I didn't have (they used to give a free weekend or week of HBO, starz, etc.), but of course, they don't do as much recently. I think eventually I will cut the cord, once they up my price again and refuse to bring it down (every time I call, they bring it back to the "original" price, but that won't last). One thing about the new channel though, who knows how long they'll offer it for free once they get a contract with Comcast. I could see them pulling it from air at the drop of a hat or after a year, that's pure speculation though.

I believe Mr Galaxy will back me up here if I mention that EVERYTHING is free on the internet... 🤫
I've never tried it, but I am guessing a VPN plus ESPN+ would allow for anyone to watch the games there.

i don't really know what this means but it might be of use to a few here. It basically means that it tracks your IP address to a location, and then senses whether or not your IP address originates from within the area that they are broadcasting. A VPN can bypass this, but IMHO it's still a chintzy move by the 'hawks. Fans are spread throughout the world, why not open it up to everyone? They could just use the geofencing algorithm to tailor the ads like youtube does.

How about resurrecting Lloyd Pettit? Oh, to hear the shot and goal and then the loud crowd noise right after brings back the childhood memories of listening on the radio.

I wasn’t around for the Lloyd years. But I still don’t believe he was all that great. Just my opinion. Foley was one of the greatest of all time with Bob Cole. Those two are the best of all time. Petit seemed way too serious. And maybe for the era, it was great. But as time moved on, there were much better. Just like Foster Hewitt, I guess they paved the way for the best. Someone had to start out and set the standard, and for that. I am great-full!!!

I can still picture myself sitting at the kitchen table doing my homework while listening to Mr. Hewitt bringing the game to life.
