Grand Rapids was 6-1 going into this game, their only loss was against Rockford, 4-1. They're 6-0 when scoring first, 0-2 when Rockford scores first. Levshunov and Korchinski were the top pair and looked good together, no points but they were communicating well and played smart at both ends. Hayes could've had a few goals, Savoie was flying out there and set him up with some great passes, but his goal he skated around the zone showing good edgework they sniped one bar down from the top of the circle. Slaggert and Nazar were great on the PK, had a couple scoring chances and controlled the play, Savoie and Ludwinski were great on the PK too, they're relentless and fast. Commesso was really good at tracking pucks and he made some great glove saves.

It looks like 'time' wasn't the only thing to fall back. Besides Nazar getting 2 assists, it was nice to see Levshunov get 4 SOG for the second game in a row.
Even though he tied with Seney for the team lead in SOG for the game, it makes the second game in a row Levshunov led the team in SOG. You wouldn't normally expect a dman to lead the team in SOG two games in a row.
I wonder how long before one or two of these shots are going to go in.

He has a heavy shot, a few of those shots the goalie didn't see it and it just hit them. They'll start going in. Hogs had the better chances last night but they ran into a hot goalie. Unfortunately Weekes looked bad at first, let in 3 goals in 5 shots, but played solid after that. They pushed hard at the end and almost tied it. Just like the Hawks, lots of turnover, but they'll start clicking soon.

Thanks Aces and OTH for your encouraging reports about the Hogs. Very pleased Levshunov is getting time paired with KK and that they are looking pretty good. The turnover does slow the team progress initially anyway but hopefully we will see improved results as we move forward.

Incompetent NHL refs have to refine their games as well I guess before they make the show. How is that interference?

This is one of those high motor guys we’re going to need. seems we have a shaw clone (savoie) and to a lesser extent a hagel clone (slaggert).

. Didn't really over power him did he. Looked like he was going for a tip and it snuck in. Still, no shot, no goal.

I watched most of the 1st period and a few minutes in the 2nd period and to honor Arty's first professional goal I won't critique his defensive game - it's the wrong time to rain on his parade.

I think you made the point you wanted to make anyway. Although I see it was Korchinski with the-3, but one EN probably.

Still, no shot, no goal. he likes to shoot. him and guttman led the team with 4 shots each. despite playing just 5 games, arty leads the D with 17 sog, korch is 2nd at 12 but he's played in all 8 games. dach leads the forwards with 22 shots in 8 games for a 2.75 shot/game average but arty tops that with a team high 3.4 shots/game. icehogs.com/player-stats

Nazar, Slaggert, Savoie, Ludwinski, Hayes, Levshunov are all rookies, even Korchinski is an AHL rookie technically. Dach, Rolston, Del Mastro and Commesso are all second year guys. Pretty young squad.

Both he and Arty have too many clueless moments when they're supposed to be defending.
