It's that time of year again and there's far more excitement in the air than the past few seasons.
Some Hawks were on the ice today and it's a great sight. Only saw pics of Reichel, Allan, Raddysh, Blackwell, and Murphy, but it's better than nothing.
Reichel is looking a lot bigger than 2yrs ago, especially his legs, his first taste in the NHL they looked like twigs.
Can't wait to see full squads and scrimmages.

mentioned in another thread but here's the info regarding the upcoming prospects tourney. We now know the Blackhawks’ prospects will face the Blues on Saturday at 6 PM CT and take on the Wild on Sunday at 3 PM CT. Sunday’s scrimmage will be streamed live on Minnesota’s YouTube channel. The prospects will practice in Chicago at Fifth Third Arena Wednesday thru Friday. The Blackhawks will announced the roster for the practices and games on Wednesday. It has been reported that Connor Bedard will take part in the showcase. As a reminder, college players are not taking part in this event, so we won’t get a chance to watch Oliver Moore, Frank Nazar, Aidan Thompson, Dominic Moore, Sam Rinzel or Ryan Greene.www.bleachernation.com/blackhawks/2023/09/07/blackhawks-tom-kurvers-showcase-practices-games-coming-next-week/the wild's YT channel is below. www.youtube.com/@mnwild

I REALLY hated to do it, but last year I subscribed to BSPN to watch most of the Hawks games. Is there another option for this year to get all or most of the games? I can find them all on the Firestick but I like the ability to pause/rewind.

Blackhawks invite D Lucas Brenton to camp.20 year old that played with the moose jaw warriors. 6'4" 212lb left handed dman, looking at his stats he seems like a stay at home dman. EliteProspects says 196lbs and HockeyDB has him at 202lbs, but I'm going with Moosejaws site, 212lbs. Looking at Minnesotas roster they only have 2 guys 200lbs or more, one is a goalie.

A little muscle for the games. Also a potential Ahl deal waiting for him if he’s decent enough. Can’t imagine a Ahl deal. He’s a lefty dman fyi.

Just was going to ask when training camp officially starts in Chicago but see ebr posted on the Prospects thread that it starts in 4 days. They have an actual game on the 28th so not all that much time in between but the rookies got a good look over thanks to the Kurvers tournament.

Only 3 days away from today - a mere drop in the bucket of waiting after we waited nearly an eternity to see Bedard play his first game in a Hawks jersey.

Hoping you guys keep me informed of how things are going!! Not gonna lie getting more excited each day!! To say my hockey juices are flowing doesn't quite capture my inner tsunami. I hope a few of the guys destined to go back to the CHL get to play in a preseason game or two before they're sent back - specifically Misiak and Lardis. I've rewatched both the Kurvers games and rightfully so there was much focus on Bedard, Kaiser and Korchinski - but Misiak and Lardis played extremely well and I'd love to get a look at them playing against NHL players. Misiak made plays all over the ice in all 3 zones. He seemed to anticipate where the play and puck were going and used his speed to get there and be in on the play either breaking it up defensively or facilitating offensively. It looks like he thinks the game very quickly and can blend his mental and physical speeds. Lardis was the quickest guy on the ice. He was the first guy down the ice so many times it was noteworthy, and his mind and hands kept up with his feet. The guy is too skinny to play NHL right now but if he can bulk up and keep that speed he could be top-6 winger in a year or two.

this was mentioned in another post but good to see reichel getting a legitimate shot at the center position. like the article says, it would be nice to have a guy who can play wing or center if needed. "He's a confident, offensive player, plays with some significant speed," Davidson said. "We're looking for him to carry that through and keep providing the offense we saw last year, both here with the Blackhawks and down in Rockford.
"But as an NHL center, there's defensive responsibilities that you'll need to execute. And, so again, any young player, peaks and valleys that [we’ll] help him work through instruction, education. I know over the summer, he was working on faceoffs; different animal though when you get into the NHL, and against some players that are specialists in that area, so I'm sure there'll be some growth areas for him down the middle. But we wouldn't try it out if we didn't think he could succeed there."www.nbcsportschicago.com/nhl/chicago-blackhawks/blackhawks-gm-kyle-davidson-lukas-reichel-is-nhl-ready-player/507785/if he makes it, does that increase bedard's chances of playing on the wing this season? maybe they ease both bedard and reichel into the centerman role the same way? anyone else sorta' feel like reichel is the forgotten man here? or maybe it's just me.

Eh, I don't think he's forgotten but maybe a little out of mind because there are new shiny toys to capture our attention. On the evening of May 8th - every Hawks prospect was relegated to - if not to obscurity, then at least to the back burner, including Reichel.

With his size and speed, and now stepping up to the OHL, his development over the next few years will be interesting to follow. Another good thing that happened for him in the second game vs the Wild that did not always happen for a few of his teammates; his name was always pronounced correctly.

Now that I've been retired - it's amazing how many of my neurons are used for conjuring up Hawks thoughts and dreams. :-))
Playing connect the neurons I found myself daydreaming about Oliver Moore's speed and relentless 200' game and having him center the 3rd line of our rebuilt team with Misiak on his left and Lardis on his right. The idea of that forecheck on attack gives me happy brain

By some accounts and reports many thought he played very well the first game, not sure if he played the second game versus Wild.

Bedard will help take the spotlight off most people and Reichel will definitely like that. And with Sorensen saying he likes him at center I'm glad KD said they'll try him there, he's put on a lot of weight since he was drafted and we know he has speed to go with his 2way game. The centers will probably be Bedard, Reichel, Kurashev, Dickinson. Deeecent (Bubbles voice). One guy that really wants to be on the starting roster and hopes to play against his brother, is Colton Dach. He looked really good in the 2 Kurvers games, start him on the bottom 6 and see how he does, might work his way up to Bedards line.
